Hello, sorry if someone has already posted this, but I just went on to Forgeworld's website and found that the prices on a few items had increased slightly, such as the Vulture Gunship which went from 57? pounds to 60 also a few of the Navy weapons got upped in cost as well.

The only stuff I want at the moment is the HH stuff... and that CANNOT go up more... can it?

Those prices raised over the summer (around June or so). According to FW when I asked about it, the reason was that they were balancing out some weird currency conversion amounts to a flat amount.

I don't have the time or inclination to go through their entire catalog with an older mail order catalog (which isn't always accurate anyways, as it's more "event" prices) and figuring it out.

Bit of a let-down, but considering how weird the currency over there is, and FW's general service record, I feel like I can trust their word for it, and assume that it's for the best.

A 3lb increase isn't terrible.

The Vulture rocks, and the price went down when the kit went plastic hybrid. I think it was 70lbs when all resin.

10 men DKoK squad prices went up by 1 pound, 5 men squad and hvt's went up by 0.5 pounds, my world is finished

You may be surprised to know that US keyboards don't have the squiggly L symbol for the currency on any of the keys and the vast majority of people in the world don't know key shortcuts for currencies they don't deal with 99.99% of the time.

3lbs = $4.87.

On a 57lb/$92.50 purchase that is not a lot.

The point is that for most of us dakka members in the US, this site is the only time we'd ever really need to use £.

As such, none of us really memorize the key command for it since it gets used so rarely even on this site for us.

Sure we could copy the symbol, but most people want to just get the point across.

Now if we were trying to buy things in your country using USD amounts, you would be justified in correcting us. But here on the interwebz we are all pissed off that global currency doesn't exist and that exchange rates are not 1:1.

It's already annoying to look at FW items and have to add 40-60% to the number to get a rough idea of US prices.

Jeez. If you don't want to remember £, just use GBP instead of "lbs" which is just wrong.

It's about 1.6 United States Dollars to 1 Pounds United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

I don't have a "funky L" on my keyboard and copy/paste is lazy!

I think it's option-shift-# on US keyboard layouts on Macs. Not at mine to test, though. alt and the 4-digit key code should do it on PCs, although I don't know the key code.

(And I see alt+numbers causes the editor to spit out various tags...)

Edit: Forgeworld Prices going up affects me less than GW prices, because I'm assuming that I'm paying for a "premium" product, and have generally been happy with the prices of some of the forgeworld stuff...

I just copy & paste the £ symbol from the internets because not only am I lazy, I am also inefficient.

Of bigger note... The Storm Eagle went up a full 10 squid. - And that was just recently, I bought one in August for 80, it's now 90.
