I've been toying with lists for Dark Eldar and the one thing that I've never added to any of my lists are either Trueborn or Bloodbrides. I've never seen the point as it seems to me that you're overing paying for that extra attack and little else. Am I wrong? I"ve been looking at the DE builds on here and I notice that alot of people take them.. of course they also take Venoms and I don't have the resources for that at the moment..but I can field 5 Raiders..
Any help? Are there more pros to cons to taking a unit of either of these Elite selections?

56 points for 2 splinter cannons.
81 points for 3 blasters.
86 points for 2 dark lances. (half the cost of warriors w/ raider for dark lance firepower)
Tiny units of true born make very effective disposable units.
Blood Brides get more wych weapons, and an extra attack. IMO, blood brides aren't worth it. The elites are better filled with cheap shooters.

What other elite options have you been considering instead?
Trueborns are just perfect for MSU tactic, they can bring almost all of our good weapons without model count restriction, and in good numbers too. 4 blasters on scourges will cost a lot, and the unit can't bring a venom, with 6 models being weapon tax if you bought the unit for AT purpose, while 4 blasters on trueborns cost a lot less, not that much more survivable, but another venom and no extra model who are doing nothing! And no other unit can bring that many darklight shots. This is only one of the many configurations of trueborn as well.
Bloodbrides, on the other hand, well, I'd only use them if I'm defiantly running an assault wych cult list... Wych cult assault is dead this edition. (Lucky it happened before I invested in more wyches...)

Agree with the above. Wyches/bloodbrides are difficult to use effectively in this edition. Bloodbrides are not much more effective than normal wyches; they die the same, murder the same things and get tar pitted fractionally less. Trueborn can take all manner of dark light weaponry cheaply. Commonly it's 3-4 true born in a venom for 150-175ish points. This is often at the core of de anti-tank (and the venom does anti infantry very effectively too)

I'd have to disagree wholeheartedly there. I feel like my Wyches are much more effective this time around, especially in multiple squads.

Trueborn are generally worthwhile if you're going for a shooty list, with Bloodbrides having their purposes, but more limited, though in an cult army they may well pull their weight. (The best place I've seen for them is as an escort for Vect.)
But at the end of the day, regular Wyches are fine, cheaper, as durable, and don't take up the Elites slot, which is a hotly contested slot for DE.
Personally I prefer Grotesques, Harlequins and Incubi before I reach for the Trueborn (and I don't even own any Wyches atm)

basically yes. Wyches are good at tarpitting medium squads and assaulting vehicles with grenades. Bloodbrides take an elite slot, cost more and do neither task any better than wyches.
trueborn are good as they can take 4x as many special weapons ie blasters and blasters are awesome.
