Yeah, as a society, we're screwed, and its mostly because of our fast-food industry

But like I said, depending on what region of the US you are visiting will affect what fast-foods you should check out.

For instance, it's not fast food, but if you are hammered drunk and are in the south, you need to head to Waffle House (in fact, I'd only recommend them if you are drunk or severely hung over)

Yeah, we have McD and BK over here, Ensis! I usually only visit them hungover, though...

We are also starting to see Taco Bell stores springing up, but I can't say they've impressed me much. I have a lot of time for KFC, though. I don't mind a Subway, either.

Ooh, tell you what I did have for the first time the other day - Cinnabon!!! Oh. My. Teeth. Really tasty, but I could feel the diabetus trying to suck out my life-force as I was eating it. Thankfully, I live a few hundred miles from the nearest one, otherwise I'd probably go there every day.

Oh, I'm going to Tenessee, btw.

Also someone mentioned Arby's don't go there it's disgusting.

If there's one nearby, go eat some Popeye's chicken. It kicks the ever livin' crap out of Kentucky Fried.

Also, whenever I head south of the Mason-Dixon line I MUST have Waffle House.

Whenever I am in the Midwest it is Taco John's. Too bad I live in the Midwest, so I have Taco John's once a week. :(

mmmmm... potato oles.

It looks like there are some Chipotles down there. Go to Chipotle. They make ridiculous burritos and bowls. And it's all generally hormone free locally grown nonsense that I couldn't care less about (or could I?) but it tastes amazing.

I eat like a 22 stone man with chocolate biscuits crisps and popcorn, yet I'm skinny still.

At one point my snacks a day were
4 Chocolate Yoghurts.
3 Yorkies
A big bowl of popcorn.
A magnum or a third of a ben and jerries pot.
2 Packets of crisps.
A triple chocolate muffin.
2 Kit kats.
5 Ginger snaps.

Once I ate 400+ party rings.
I'm still only around 8-9 stone.

Bearing in mind my breakfast was 2 bacon 1 scrambled egg and 2 waffles.
And my other meals were of same proportion.

Metab off the charts perhaps?

Why?! I'm getting older and fatter every week thanks to this stuff!

To be fair, Waffle House food isn;t that great, but the atmosphere is priceless!

1. If the cook wasn't ashing into your waffle when he was making it, then you didn't go to the right Waffle House.

2. If you didn;t slide to your booth on a thin film of grease, you weren't at the right Waffle House.

3. If the waffle iron had been cleaned in the past year, you weren't at the right Waffle House.

4. If your waitress didn't fit a ridiculous Southern Waitress stereotype, you weren;t at the right Waffle House.

5. If you.... well.... I think you get the idea.

The things I can't really resist:

Five Guys Bacon Cheeseburger (remember that's two patties) with mushrooms, onions, maybe a little bbq sauce, lettuce, and tomato, and a regular five guys fries (I usually eat the bag fries, since bag fries are best fries). Note: This is easily replaced by regional burger chains, so INN-N-OUT also falls under this, they just don't have any in the Midwest...

White Castle - This one is weird because I love it, but I always go overboard and I don't want to touch the stuff for like a year. The last time I had White Castle sliders was August 2011. A buddy and I had the hankering for those tasty little squares of grease, and we each got a crave case (30 burgers). We proceeded to eat about half of our cases each. I then had white castle for lunch and dinner the next 3 days... My mini fridge in college smelled like sliders for weeks after that.

Q'Doba/Chipotle - For my burrito fix, I love just the gooey wrapped death. Though after having Q'Doba for the past 4 months and not touching Chipotle until last night, I can safely say that I much prefer the bloody death my bowels suffer from Q'Doba over Chipotle

Asian cuisine - from classy sushi to home made thai food, to greasy chinese buffet or delivery, I fething love it all... Which sucks because my parents hate it, so it rarely comes up as a topic of what is for dinner D:

Mexican - This is pretty much the same as the asian food... I love mexican food like no one's business. My parents lived for 17 years in the American southwest, and would often cross the border into Mexico for quality mexican food... I'd like to think this love has rubbed off onto me...

I'm a big fan of anything Cleveland in nature... So that usually means anything involving polish sausage/bratwurst/etc.. smothered with peppers, onions, and brown stadium mustard (a Cleveland favorite, feth you Heinz Ketchup!)

And then there are the "regional" things that I've had while traveling.

in the Canton, Ohio area there is a place called Ianazone's Pizza. There are a few in other places, but this chain of pizza shops makes a spicy pizza sauce that goes great with the spice of pepperoni... My housemate and I would get it at least once a week while I was living in the area.

Philly Cheessteaks from Philly... Preferably whiz wit, and from Geno's, though Pat's does it well too... I've had them in other places in the country, and nothing compares

Gak on a Shingle from the Lehigh valley are of PA. My buddy is from there, and while visiting him, we went to this diner in Allentown, Pa and had Creamed Chipped beef which looks terrible, but damn that salty dish hits the spot when you're drunk at 3 in the morning

And when I was in San Fransisco, I went to this little cafe that had Croque Monsieur, which I would eat anywhere, but the only place I know to get it is in San Fransisco...

I'm really really really fething surprised I'm not like 300+ pounds...
