Here's the most recent comment from Outlaw Games on the 30% off coupon
@Ross - yes I know what you mean by that but we can't actually promote that on here. If you remember we offered that cool 30% discount reward on any after ks purchases. Kickstarter was on us like white on rice to pull that down. So will there be backer rewards after ks, yes. Can we openly tell you what they are during the ks, no. You just have to wait and see for yourself.
Mar. 07, 2013 on Wild West Exodus - Sci-Fi Western Miniatures Game.
so it looks to still be on offer

Thanks, Orlando!
And the Lawmen boost will make this hit 300K, I think. It's gone at a really good clip the last few hours.

Only needs 15K to get to 300K now... I feel like it needed 25K to get there just, what, 5 hours ago?
It's going to surpass it easily at this rate... the Lawmen were a good call!

Hi,
It has taken 10k in just about 2 hrs in total. And most of the UK + Europe would have been in bed ready for work in the morning.
I just hope we get to at least the blackjack personally.

You can't get wave 2 hired hands in the starter boxes can you? So if you want them, you pledge another $50 for the straight 10 hired hands? edit: Also with that 30% discount, is it better to wait for the majority of the pledge to do it after the KS? Or is that to make the prices equal so its a wash?

There can not be wave 2 HH in starters correct.
It depends on what you wish to buy. Repulsive is sitting at about 70% discount. So you would have to plan it out. But then you would also be paying 2x P&P. :(

The 30% off coupon is just a minor bonus,
KS prices are cheaper than that anyway so if you want it and can afford it get it now
Using the coupon later you'll save a little more than you'd get from an internet discounter who'd probably offer free shipping too
It's actually not a bad move for outlaw since selling to you at 70% of retail price will still get them more cash than selling to a distributor (usually 50-60% of retail), and if there's a discount in your pocket you're more likely to pick up someting extra

Alright, I'm officially out. Not even the Lawmen can rope me in. My understanding is that Romeo has history of blurting things out to make a sale and then backtracking. This is apparently no exception.
Here is what I've seen, just so everyone is informed.
On Mar. 12 it was confirmed that starter set Hired Hands could be swapped out for Hired Hands set 2. This was retracted and said it never was that way. When called on it, he said he may have been "tired" or quick to post.
The FAQ was updated to clarify the whole trading process, and it sort of has. But this evening it's been stated that the heavy weapons hired hands in the starter set couldn't be traded for the set 2, and according to him this was again the way it always was. Even though I'm staring at the FAQ right now that says:
"A starter that features a heavy weapon hired hand can be swapped just for the wave 2 version of that hired hand in the same faction."
How more specific can you get?
Anyway, they may seem like small issues, but it's more the fact that the guy can't own up to his mistakes, and is apparently just lying to people to make a sale (unless he is truly delirious and doesn't know what he's said). I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but given this has happened a second time within the kickstarter and his history of previous incidents I can't afford to support this kind of bad business.
Best of luck. I hope you guys get a good game and are happy with the products and service you receive.

And that sadly is one of the reasons why I'm not a fan of Romeo...
As to the Lawmen that were posted a few posts up, the judge just looks outright stupid with that wig on. Were judges even wearing those wigs in the mid 1800s? And I was hoping with the concept art we saw of Earp, we'd get something equally as nice out of the mini art with him and Doc... Pretty static if you ask me :-\

Yes, some judges were still wearing the wigs. Some in the UK still do.
No online retailer? Hmmm.
No swapping for Wave 2? Payment withdrawn. That was not stated earlier, and looked pretty clearly that you could swap. Not good.

To be honest, the guy with the pistol and shield looks rather cool... in concept... The Judge also looks amusing enough that I'd love to have one as a goofy joke. Most of the figures themselves look silly enough that I'd get one only for the novelty.
I'd honestly consider getting the figures via Kickstarter had Romeo of Battlefoams not been involved.
The lack of online retailer support probably means I'll never get it. I rather doubt B&M retailers will take the significant risk of stocking this game when Malifaux and Warmachine are so similar in theme and already successful. Essentially, that'll mean the only way to get it is from Battlefoam itself online.
When the actual photographs of the figures come out beyond concepts, maybe it'll draw more people. As it stands, it's an untried and untested company with regards to miniature casting, so quality is questionable. The other companies such as Kingdom Death, Studio McVey, CMoN, Soda Pop, and especially Reaper are known and tried companies. I understand the purpose of Kickstarter is to crowd-fund the unknown, but from the customer's perspective it's a difficult choice to jump on. That being considered, it's rather astounding that this Kickstarter campaign has been as successful as it as considering the experience of the people involved.
In a (very) few months' time, the miniatures will be released and we'll see. I just hope that the inexplicable 35mm scale won't look absurdly out-of-place with the more common 32mm Steampunk/SciFi/Western terrain and models many of us already have.
Obviously, many of us skeptics can only be delightfully surprised in three months when all these models suddenly appear.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Romeo actually owned up to his mistake, said he was sorry about the Heavy Weapons shortly after he said you couldn't switch them out and said the FAQ was right.
Creator Outlaw Miniatures, LLC about 2 hours ago
Hi Charlie - I can see how that is confusing. I read my post from earlier and you are right. I completely did a typo that caused some issues. The FAQ is correct, I just typed out the wrong info as I have been asked the same question so many times I read heavy weapon hired hands as hired hands.
Sorry for causing more of a mess by firing back that silly reply. I will simply address all swap and trade questions with "Please see the FAQ". Its really the simplest way to keep everything clear moving forward.
I would highly suggest we all do the same on the comments. Trying to answer something without knowing for sure will only cause more confusion. Please, please guys just refer trade questions to the FAQ.
I know we all want to help each other out and do the right thing. I'm on your side here. I'm not holding stuff back to make you guys feel cheated. I'm with you the whole way.
In Jesse and The FAQ we Trust
I can understand frustration, but he did own up and did apologize. Though I'm sure there is some irreversible damage.

There was also a mistake on a google spreadsheet causing a problem (the heavy weapon switch issue) but that is third party, and so some backers were misinforming others.
