A "normal" figure is still $25… Flower Witch is more $$ because of all of the frilliness. Just like White Knight costing $27.50 due to his extra bits.

The price on the Xmas pinup is pretty steep, indeed… I think partially due to the fact it's plastic and a "limited" timed edition, he can't offset the cost of the mold over a longer lifetime printing run…. Plus, it comes will all of the extra decorations.

The Xmaxe looks pretty sweet. It has strength equal to your current insanity. It's irreplaceable (which I'd assume if you die with it on hand, it doesn't drop for scavenging). It also has two half red and two half green boxes letting it form a central spot for a double "line" combo for gear… That type of gear alone may be rare in the KD:M world. Who knows, though (ahem, Adam, play testers, ahem…)

Thanks for the heads up! A tweet didn't go out(or I missed it), so I wasn't aware.

$50 for one hard plastic human model? GW has a new standard to live up to now

I like it - a lot!

But $50?

Cannot do.

Which is a shame, as it has KD:M content, so I'd like to have that...

As noted - $50 for a hard plastic mini? Even with a big scenic base?

Ouch.

I have to agree with Alph here. I understand the limited nature makes it such that you don't see the savings you normally would with plastic, but that really just makes me question why do it in plastic. Only things I can come up with is that this will be offered again next year or that they didn't want to mix materials with KD:M content (or a bit of both).

Excellent models though, even if I'd prefer more tanks or spaceships for the money.

It is likely the mold was aluminum. They are far cheaper to produce than standard steel molds, but they have a limited life span. That is why you're seeing more limited edition plastics being produced.

Can hard plastic be cast in aluminum?

From what one machinist told me, yes. But you will only get probably around 1000 casts before you start getting into the failure range of the mold.

ouch- yeah, that's pretty rough unless it's really cheap to make.

Annnndddd we are back to not getting any communication. Man those few weeks of updates where nice of golden backer updates.
This has been my problem with this kickstarter from the start and I think it has been glossed over a lot by everyone especially when the Golden Backer updates started.
However before that we would barely get any information regarding what whats happening despite there clearly being progress.
Further more delays on updates and posts on "Oh it will be in two more weeks" seemed common place.
I have faith this will get done but it sure is annoying that Adam seems to be back in the habit of "Don't Show, Don't Tell" mindset.

It would have been nice for Adam to have shared something for "year in review", plans for 2015. Something like that.

Pretty sure he mentioned he'll be gone until the 5th.

"@kingdomdeath: Season's greetings everyone! All webstore orders placed after 12pm EST on 12/23/14 will not ship until 1/5/15. Have a wonderful New Year!"

I took that to mean, "I'm on break."

Was this a comment or a update? I'll go double check; but yea a "Coming 2015" would be nice

Yeah…. The Kingdom Death world… >.>

I think "before the holidays" update (as said on BGG) meant before Valentine's Day, Patty's Day & Cinco de Mayo… or Flag Day…

Take your pick…

They're curious about the next update, not the update when we finally find out when it'll start shipping.

Well, what's the longest Adam has ever gone without a KD:M update?

OK, so we're lucky if we get something by Paddy's day.

Joe does all of the packaging and web store orders now…
Adam might put up orders (like the Xmas stuff), but Joe does all of the shipping, confirmations and CS on orders (since it was too much for Adam to do all of that, the creation of new things, directing art, approving and editing tooling, etc.)

I got confirmation on the 8th or 9th, and it'll be here tomorrow (according to tracking!).
There were over 1000 orders during the holiday vacation (I ordered right after it dropped, and got mid 111XX) and ordered the promo (mostly free from some other things happening) before it closed up, and got 120XX.

It's a lot to do for one person, but Joe is stellar!

Oh, in regards to the longest span without word, I think that was last summer before the big Dung Beetle Knight Update (which also heralded the SBT announcement). It was like 2.5 months +/-

Right. Paddy's day it is, then!
It should be on its way to the 2nd manufacturer in China with any luck...

Well, nearly two weeks since the last update (er, comment?), and for the first time since the project began, my goodwill is starting to lag.

I realize this is crunch time and they're in the final push before Chinese New Year, yet somehow I'm more disappointed about this radio silence than the 2 months around the Dung Beetle update.

Maybe it's because it felt like there was finally a light at the end of the tunnel, only to return to being in the dark.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

Well, it's Kingdom Death. There will be a light if you just wait for a pair of creepy hands to goatse the tunnel open.

I, too, would like an update. Almost as much as I would like to see this project start shipping. At this point, it's very much the Agony and the Ecstacy..

Pope Julius II: When will you make an end?

Michelangelo: When I am finished!

Could be worse- we could have gotten everything a year ago made of PVC.

This, a thousand times this

I think this is slated for Q3, right, so what's the rush? It's not shipping until summer...
