based on what I'm currently wearing:
1. Analog

3. Leather.
4. Round face.
5. Heavy/Chucky (but it can't be thicker than my forearm lol)
6. Outwards, I tried inwards once, but I found that the face was hitting my desk, phone, w/e was near it, so I put it outwards, now I just tilt the wrist a bit and I know the time.
I would kill for Marv's watch collection.

I have moved from watches to chunky chainmail. This happened because I set up my wife's beading store and stumbled across chain maille, which lead me to looking at chain mail. I found a great site that allowed me to use chain mail patterns to make bracelets... so I now have side line myself.
Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

I just wear an el cheapo digital one that I got for Christmas maybe 3 years ago, I've had to change the battery once, but other than that it works flawlessly... Even gives me the date and day of the week
It also has a compass feature built in, but I never set it up, I use compasses the old-fashioned way

It's not the nicest looking watch, but it does the job well enough, it's taken plenty of close range hits and knocks when I play airsoft as well, still barely a scratch on it...
I stopped wearing my watch when I started always having my phone. My phone became a pocket watch, but actually having a pocket watch would be neat. I might look into that.
Also since I do so much stuff on the PC, a watch on my wrist causes problems.

One of my co-workers wears his watch face in, and looks at his inner arm to see the time. It's just how he finds it comfortable. I called him a hippy...

That's "outward". I used to wear my Armitron "inwards" (which is with the clasp where you normally have the face) back when I worked at a computer shop, because I found myself banging the large face of it against racks and computer cases the like, and didn't feel like getting it scratched up. Watchbands you can replace.

It used to be not so uncommon for people who drove a lot to wear their watch facing inwards so that they could see it without taking their hand off the wheel.
My everyday watch (1st anniversary present, chosen in no small part for the old fashioned glow-in-the-dark numbers ... solar powered, charges from 10-15 minutes sunlight every day)
And the good watch, which was a wedding present from my wife:

1. Analog
2. Clasp
3. Metal.
4. Round face.
5. Heavier the better, but I like a facing that's about medium (the big, chunky ones look ridiculous on my fairly small wrists)
6. Outwards, as God intended.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

I've had a couple watches come and go, my favorite was Casio flight model that wasn't quite useful for the job, but it looked cool and some of my pilots ended up getting some.
I also had a fake rolex at some point lol

See, I'm not a fan of the big, heavy looking watches. I'm more into the slim, sleek pieces. What draws all you guys to having huge chunks of metal on your wrists? I personally have to wear dress shirts on an almost daily basis and I find that the huge watches get caught on my cuffs, which irritates me to no end.
I like chucky heavy watches because i like the weight on the end of my arm. If i forget to take my watch with me when i go out i get really unsettled because my arm doesnt feel right. Its something akin to a comfort/sercurity blanket type thingy i think.
Going to inherit two other Seikos from my grandfather in about 17 weeks as a congratulatory present. He's getting them all fixed up and ready to go. The first one is a Seiko Flight Chronograph. It's actually surprisingly small. It says it's 41mm, but it feels like a 37 or 38, really. I probably won't wear this much, unless I'm in that kind of mood. I think I would get a lot of questions about all the various "o-graphs", to which I would have no answers. The band on this watch is exactly the same as my other Chronograph, with a slimmer clasp. Very very nice.
The second is pretty plain Jane. I believe it's a regular stock Seiko Quartz with a GMT date. It has a leather band, but as usual, I'll replace it with a metal one. I didn't get a look at it, because I was fiddling around with the Flight watch, but this one will probably become my everyday watch, as it doesn't have any extra nonsense. and is relatively nondescript. I would be ecstatic if it turned out to be a Grand Seiko or some other rarity.

My dad got me a fake rolex in Hong Kong. It doesn't keep time, and it doesn't look good, so I did a little experiment, and destroyed it with a belt sander, to give it that 007, 'been there done that' look. I also threw it in the mud and a couple other horrible things. He was so impressed by the results, he asked me to destroy the one he bought for himself. They still work terribly, but it's kind of fun to wear.

I don't really like chunky watches either, but it's getting really hard to get blokes' casual watches that aren't humongous. I spent a lot of time finding the one I have... there were a few others that I really liked the design of, but they were either bigger across than my wrist, or too bulky and sat up to far on my arm. Or both. The one I wound up with is still a little large, but has a fairly low profile. And makes up for a lot with the glowy numbers

I don't really like those big chunky things either. A bigger watch doesn't keep time better than a smaller watch!
I like leather bands, but it always feels like I'm going to ruin them with unnecessary hand washing and sweat. I wear lots of leather boots, jackets and bags, so I know firsthand how delicate leather is. It isn't something you want to be pressed up against your skin all day

It should be pointed out, that you're supposed to have a solid inch or so where the bottom of the hand meets with the arm with proper dress shirts, but at the end of the day it is up to you really... I know my sleeves are a little long, since I need the room in fabric to fit my torso

The inward watch face is the sort of style favoured by Mall Ninja types because it's Tacticool.
That way the luminous hands don't give away your position...
As for glow in the dark, you can't beat GTLS.
Watches such as Traser, Nite, and Marathon use it (there are others who use it too)
My Traser is so bright I can read by it...

I have the same problem... Apparently I have a very "athletic build", which I guess means that my chest, shoulders and upper back are larger than other people, plus the length of my arms is just so perfectly right in the middle of two standard sleeve lengths.
I don't normally wear a watch, but when I dress up, I actually prefer cufflinks and French Cuffs. I just wish that the watches that I actually like were more within my reach.
