Being the nice guy that I am, I'll spare you from having to make those armor saves in the first place.

Just get new fingers...I hear they've made great advances in prosthetics. Maybe you can get some teflon coated ones!? Plus, you never have to worry about cutting them with a Hobby knife ever again.

Then what more do we need!?

Hey Loch, I noticed your Avatar has the new Eldar flyer in it, are you bringing Eldar with that model? I'm just curious if you have had any experience with it and what you think about it. I may or may not bring Eldar and may or may not bring one of those Flyers =).

My avatar pic is a DE Razorwing, not any of that new Eldar higgledy piggledy
I haven't played a game with any new Eldar units yet.

But I think on paper both of the new Eldar flyers are useful. The Hemlock requires more of the list built around it, whereas the Crimson Hunter just kills one flyer per shooting phase. You'll need to be careful with both, since they're AV 10 with no defensive measures outside evade. Using terrain and Vector Dancer you might be able to keep them in the air longer tho.

My problem is that invariably every hobby session of mine ends with a personal sacrifice to Khorne. Between the QuikClot and super glue debonder it gets very messy indeed!

Summer time. No work for teachers, John. And Mike, you've got time.

I'll bring popcorn. And some Don Rickles vintage heckling.

Adam Gati's Eldar took top spot.
Dustin was Best General, Cron Air.
IIRC, Tony was Best Sport.
Mike Fox took paint.

Not that you'd know it from how every Riptide in three counties was dancing across the Game Empire tables on Saturday...

Yeah riptides with Interceptor backing up firewarriors is pretty good. So are Misslesides.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I went 3-0 with a fairly basic list with very few tricks, just a good mix of shooting and markerlights. Honestly, Andrew would have clobbered me if he had gone first in out tau on tau battle (he plays more and has more experience with the army), but losing his markerlights on turn one set him back a bit and I had the more valuable objectives.

I think once people get a better handle on how to come at the Tau and properly deal with riptides, the army won't seem as nasty. Its most definitely the strongest 7th edition era codex, though. And a lot of fun to play.

How did people run their Riptides? The Tau player I faced off against had the Skyfire/Interceptor set-up with the Heavy Burst Cannon and SMS...Not sure if Ion weapon is worth it but if the Riptide is ignoring cover it will prob do a ton of damage with either system.

Most of the ones I saw were Ion/TL fusion Riptides.

I may give the Fluffy tourney a try in July, is the points going to be 1850 for sure? Is there a painting or comp rubric that we can review for it? Thanks for any info guys.

The thing we used to do in Wisconsin to make things fluffy is run Highlander tournaments. There can be only one. Most armies get a lot more tame when you cannot spam choices. Of course, if you do that in 7th, every mission with objectves needs to have additional scoring unit options so as to not screw over books with limited troop selections. So, Highlander with Big Guns, Purge, and Crusade with Elites added as scoring for that mission, is what I would do. It always led to some fun armies and games back in the day, since people can't just spam the same crutch unit (dedicated transports limited to one of a kind as well).

Hmmm, think I may actually do that for the next Merc Market tourney I run, now that I think about it.

I do like the highlander idea, but that hurts some of us who have put extensive time scratch building units(mainly dakka jets) that arnt all that hot to begin with. But Id be willing to sacrifice my 3 jets for a balanced and fun playing field.

Well the way those fliers are converted in your army, they could each be one of the three types of fliers. Remember the idea is that no one gets to spam.
