UPDATE 6/4/13

Its saturday and I hope you all are have a good weekend.
Today I am working on the trailer again and looking at the size and scale of the costume
for the first time in more detail to see how I am progressing with the project.

Paul dreadnought Lugg
[Thumb - Picture 003.jpg]
This is the size and scale to a normal size 6ft human without the two weapon sponsons on.

[Thumb - Picture 008.jpg]
Start of the feet. We are looking at the scale to the main body. I think that they are, what do you think?

[Thumb - Picture 006.jpg]
Looking at the height and where the eye slit needs to be. also if the feet and spread are correct.

[Thumb - Picture 005.jpg]
Looking at how much costume needs to be built to the rear.

Wow! That thing is looking amazing! The feet look a little small right now, but that's probably because they're just feet. Legs need to be spread a little further apart though. Still, looks great!

Bloody Hell Paul!! that is looking even better than I thought it would in daylight! :-) I think you've got it nearly perfect so far, I agree with Deunstephe though, when you build the legs, make sure your actual leg sits flush with the inside of the robotic one so they appear more spread out like the model does? keep it up it's shaping up like a winner!

Update 8/4/13

This evening after work I had a look at leveling the two sponsons so they look right.
The height and how far they are forward or back is important or they will look funny..

The dreadnought is 7foot 1inch wide as you look at it.

As its in the garage I cannot do a front view for you but it gives you the idea.

what do you think of the scale and look? I think it look about right.

Such epicness! I did have quite a chuckle seeing you wearing that giant torso with your legs sticking out underneath it. How heavy is that beast to wear?

Its not that heavy, I can handle it. I made it in mind to look like a heavy scary metal monster that you would not want to meet across the battlefield, this dream is coming true in front of mine and your eyes.
I have enjoyed showing you kind people my project and would like to thank you all for your support.

Not had it on with the sponsons yet though. The main part I need to do when the weapon arms are on is to balance the costume
so its easier to carry. I will build a back and shoulder harness so its easy to carry as its a 3 mile walk at Bridgwater. In the picture of me in the main body I was holding it in place.

When the costume is finished I will do a teaser video for youtube.

I have also put the Assault cannon video I made on the warhammer world facebook page.

I Also spoke to The Games workshop manager in Exeter store and asked if I could come to gamesday with them this year. I hear there is a costume contest, is this correct?

Thanks again

Paul

I will try and get it out soon and do a front shot, for that i need a hand to carry it, as its bulky now. Its a metal hulk.

I have a question to put to the forum.

What ammo material does the Assault cannon fire? Example a cowboy pistol fires lead.

I have a quote that the dreadnought will say. "Eat Titanium" I think that this wrong but sounds futuristic.

Ovion's answer is good. It's coming along swimingly!

Yes they do have a costume contest at GD (at the least the couple I've seen). And I would have to believe you would win. There are some good Space Marines, IG, Sisters of Battle, but I really don't think anybody has produced a dread costume. I think you would win hands down (just on what I've seen already)
