Any idea on how much longer till we see a finished stadium rack for the dropper bottles being available?

I hope to have it up for sale in late May. I actually have one that I have been using, but it isn't rigid enough to suit me. It could be glued together and be ok, but I am trying to make that particular rack to not need any glue.

On a side note, I did get my bottle of Badger Minitaire Ghost Tint (2 ounce) in. It actually works in my "Craft Paint" rack that I already have for sale. That rack is not a stadium style rack though; it is the wine rack style. I am a little concerned about it though because the pictures I see online of the Badger paint bottles make it seem like the top is a little larger diameter than the bottle I just received. I need to do some more investigating before I can say for sure that the Minitaire paints fit in that rack. Right now, I can say that the one sample that I have does work with the "Craft" paint rack.

Thanks,
Kelly

Hi Kelly, can you post a pic of the bottle you have? If it is the same bottle as the paints I have then I would be good to go.

Also, the craft style is this one correct? http://www.etsy.com/listing/122182149/paint-rack-holds-54-craft-paint-bottles?ref=shop_home_feat

That is the style I am looking for. I can see the paint color straightaway.

Hi Kelly, can you post a pic of the bottle you have?

I attached a picture of the Minitaire bottle that just came in from Amazon.

Yes, that is the one that I was talking about. It is a little bit larger than my others just because of the size of bottles that it holds.
Thanks for the interest in my paint racks!

Got the 2nd rack in the mail and it is awesome.

Thanks!

Kelly

Kelly, looks like my bottles are 1 oz (30 mL). Not sure if they will fit in your rack properly. Dang :-(

I do have some 1 ounce bottles of the Badger Freak Flex paints, and they do not fit very well in any of the paint racks that I have so far. That will have to be a new design.
Sorry about that. I will have to work on a rack for that paint line, but I have the stadium style rack for the dropper bottles to finish first.

Kelly, someone had mentioned the idea of handles to make it easier to move the painting trays. I don't have one of the trays, so I don't know how well this would work, but I have a relatively simple idea that I posted here - http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/503239-handle%20idea.html
If that idea works well, you're more than welcome to take the idea and run with it.

Also, regarding the stadium style trays for reaper/vallejo bottles, I notice that your pic shows all the bottles top down. Am I correct in assuming that the trays work just fine with top up as well? Getting too old to try and read all the bottles upside down.

I not glued a piece of MDF on the bottom of my rack and now its fully transportable. Very sturdy.

I haven't tried this, but that should be an easy thing to add as an option for the future.

I looked at the diagram and that might be doable. It would only require minimal changes. I will give it a shot and see how it works. Thanks!

Yes, I did make it so the bottles will sit either way. Although, I am not totally happy with that rack just yet. It is just not sturdy enough to suit me. I still haven't had a chance to work on it to get a nice solution figured out.

I have been involved with a summer camp the past two weeks, but should be able to do some work once this last camp is finished up. Here is what I plan on working on:

The long awaited stadium style rack for dropper bottles!
A horizontal style rack for Minitaire bottles.
A brush rack with only large holes (this is mainly a request from Etsy from people who want to store colored pencils in it).
A wall mount option for the horizontal paint racks (again this request has mainly popped up on Etsy).

If I still have some time after getting those things worked out, I am going to work some more on a portable painting station. I wouldn't anticipate this one being available any time soon . . .

Thanks for all of the support you guys have provided! So far there are about 150 of my paint racks out there, and I think a lot of them have gone to DakkaDakka readers.

I need a tool rack, similar to the one that cnc workshop makes. Any chance this is on the horizon?

And where in Louisiana? I'm up in shreveport.

Regarding the stadium dropper holder, maybe cross beams along the back?

I do need to design something similar, but all I can say is the horizon is a long way from here. I have a list of other designs that I have been wanting to work on, I just haven't finished any of them lately. Stay tuned to this thread though for any new releases.

I just added a pile of them to the Etsy store if you are still interested.

Thanks!
