I really think it went well. I was there almost two hours. The plant manager gave me a tour of the place. He used the "overqualified" word but then took it back, saying that wasn't the right word. At this place I could get my hands into all sorts of new stuff I've never had a chance to work with before, but he said he felt I could handle the job as-is without issue. Like I said, this is a new position being created, so it'll be built around the person rather than filling someone else's shoes. That's a pretty big deal to me. I'd be able to branch out into the production systems, so there would always be something new and fresh to do. he plant is only 15 years old, so they already have substantial technology in place. Systems that take high speed digital pictures of every part being produced for QC..Just like you see on those factory shows on TV.

The only thing that happened that could be considered "iffy" is that when I was done with the tour, I went back to the conference room to get my coat and notebook and the next interview candidate was already sitting in the room. Poor form to let two candidates cross paths IMHO, but oh well.
