Yeah, this was the good, more expensive 3M stuff. Worth it! Perfect seal. I see more spots I have to touch up on the ceiling. None on that line.

And I know I'm late to the party, But damn I love that wall in your workshop. I don't know what possessed the previous owners to do it, but thats a photo backdrop to scorch out anyone's retinas! As a fellow ugly wall owner, I approve of its use as backdrops 
So when do I move my stuff in?

I've seen your ugly wall Ramos, and it's quite impressive.
I'm curious too. When we bought the place, that section of the basement was separated by cubicle walls. Real, fabric-covered, steel cubicle walls. The previous owner had two teenage girls, one of which was an oil painter, So I assume that area was her little studio at one point.
Are you saying that I should start operating some sort of hobby-oriented Kibbutz or commune?

Well naturally!! What better place to learn of the mighty rivet? All must make this most holy of polystyrene pilgrimages!
Makes sense about the studio, I suppose... Maybe the ugly paint is covering an oil masterpiece, ala Davinci Code. Think of it.... Illuminati in your basement (or... something....)

All the doors are inset like that with the walls having kerfed edges that roll into the jambs. Only 8 more door jambs in the hallways to paint

Well, tbh, I've always wanted a house with nice walls. It sounds weird, but places I've lived have usually had crappy walls. And I notice other people's bad paintjobs in public too
On today's edition of Dave's Decorating Tips: Canvas sheets, besides a good lawnmower, trimmer, and cordless drill, it's a homeowner's best friend.

Hmmm...>I should take that tape measure on the table there and check! I'm 6ft tall, SO I'm going to assume it's a 8 ft ceiling. Probably lower where that little header bit is built on the other side of the beam and fireplace, but that will have a workbench of some kind and fluorescent tubes overhead, so it'll be a sitting space. Automatically Appended Next Post: Yes, Bean is quite the small dog. The ceiling is 7ft 2 inches to the drywall

Looking nice! Congrats on the wedding... but seeing as how you have some painting ahead of you in the basement, allow some unsolicited old man advice.
Paint your wedding date on the wall somewhere.
Doesn't have to be big, or obvious. Probably better not to be. Top of the pole might be perfect. In any case, 8-9 years from now you will be glad you did when you don't have to ask "Is our 10th anniversary coming up?"
