" ‘They’ve posted guards too.’ The armoured figures seemed unusually squat for tau, and a moment of further observation revealed the reason. ‘Demiurg, by the look of them.’ Which finally confirmed the long-standing rumour of a contingent of the blocky xenos accompanying the tau fleet."

Are the new tau fliers without tau in them.........

Demiurg aren't Squats. Both are 40K Dwarf equivalents, but Demiurg are Xenos and Squats are Abhumans. Demiurg have also been Tau allies for nearly a decade now.

Also, the rumor mongers stated that the new Tau fliers are piloted by Air Caste, the non-Tau thing was a mistake by someone unfamiliar with the fact that the Tau castes are physically dissimilar from each other.

It was said that the pilots were Air Caste and that the "not tau" was mistaken (Probably suposed to be not-firewarrior). Still the acknowledgement of the Demiurg in Offical GW work is interesting.

Squats are in the 40k rulebook by name as Squats (Homo Sapien Rotundus IIRC) so these aren't they. I like the cheeky language being used there though. It might be a good idea to keep what's written there in mind - units have been showing up in BL books before they show up in codices lately.

This one, 6th. It's toward the back and it's only a brief mention, but they are there, alongside beastmen and a few others.

Weren't Demiurg rumored to be coming out alongside Vespid and whatnot for Tau allies?

GW has been teasing the Demiurg squat thing for quite awhile. I guess fluff wise they are different, but fluff wise squats don't even exist anymore.

How is the book though I didn't know it came out yet.

Actually there is a squat in the Ravenor books, the short Rogue Trader talks about his mythical ancestors in one book.

Personally I like to think the Squats built themselves some skeleton bots, set them loose and are having a great laugh as everyone buys their cover story about billion year old star gods
