So would you guys at mantic consider the issue of running the machines at excessive speeds 'addressed'? Are you guys seeing a consistent quality in mold lines and sprue tear removal?

Was there basically some QC done to make sure a sample of casts didn't suffer from the issues before with the excessive mold lines and sprue vents leaving divots from being demolded?

Right guys, production miniatures. Sorry to let the conspiracies build up again - as I'm sure you can imagine I've been crazy busy!

These components are just straight out of the bag, no work done.

These miniatures have been assembled, with mould lines removed, and the five on the left have been primed with grey spray to matt them down and show the detail better. The ones on the right are bare plastic, for comparison purposes.

Thoughts?

Gotta say, these are looking awesome! I had heard some bad things about the casting quality at Mantic (no offense). I'm glad I backed Deadzone now though. Nice one Mantic! I assume it's just a case of prepping the KS orders for dispatch now?

I may have to use the big plague guy as a DE Aberration beastie though..

And that is all it took, thank you James. A quick question, the owner of my FLGS is going to the Open Day, will he be able to pick up additional Deadzone stock there?

Blimey, there's a question. Best bet is to tell him to contact us directly and we'll see what we can sort out!

Cheers James, I believe he is picking up his retail backer pledge. That said I have "accidentally" just placed a pre-order with Mantic for the Pre-Release Mega deal for £100. You can never have too many miniatures, right?

I'm going to be entirely honest and admit that a lot of what you just said went right over my head. I didn't know there were issues with speeds, sprue tear removal, divots... That might be more Stewart's field of expertise, and he's out of the office today. However, the new models are all looking very shiny indeed, and are missing the quality issues that have been a problem before. Does that answer your question? I hope it does!

No offence taken! It's a case of waiting for the final components to arrive (the boxes are produced across a number of manufacturers worldwide), assembling the product and getting the warehouse organised... then The Shippening begins. We're all closing the office for a week to go and help out. It may be a bit busy!

There's been problems in the past of the sprues being torn off the restic models (at the factory) and actually damaging the model.

Secondary question - for those of us, such as myself, who ordered a bunch of Enforcers including several individual Enforcer models, how will that get rectified?

You may be fine in the end, Mathieu- you've got opposite strategies there. Neither communicates particularly well, but one delivers on-time with questionable quality, and one is undoubtedly going to be VERY late with hopefully excellent quality.

Apples and oranges, really! Or pick your poison

That said, those few pics do look good... still waiting to see if my Dreadball minis do or not.

I was wondering about the individual Enforcer models myself. Will we get the minimum amount of plastic sprues to hobble all the items together? Or will we get the old stuff? (Starts to shudder). Or will there be a bits guys snipping things off for Wave 2?

Just had a quick flick through (will have a proper read when I'm less tired). First impressions, a very well laid out book with some very nice artwork in, my favourite after a quick flick is where a Orx is chatting away with a human (most probably organising a merc contract!). Models that I have not seen yet is: winged rebel alien thingy, goblin artillery crew, enforcer Medic, flamer and shield guy/s and a 3rd gen Plague grunt with grenade launcher. Though even after just a quck flick I noticed one glaring spelling error, instead of Campaign rules, it says Compaign rules. Lol!

Nice layout, lots of diagrams and stuff to make LOS and terrain really clear.

Just had a quick look through and like what I see. Even the Enforcer on Page 21 looks pretty good.

I notice only the 4 original factions are noted in it, so I'll be curious to see if there will be an add-on for Wave 2 ala a campaign including the Forge Fathers and Asterians.

Yep, rules will be coming out with wave 2. Check the teaser on the penultimate page

Only had a quick flick but the book looks rather cool. Glad to hear that Guy Haley has contributed, liked the stuff he did for Kings of War.

If the quality holds up throughout the entire line, I imagine that Wave 2 Survey orders will be quite successful for Mantic!

I really enjoy the rules so far from what I have read, it is interesting to see fluff for Wrath but no one else.

I flipped through, and it's a very handsome looking book. I also really liked the pics including the 3rd Gen with grenade launcher. If that figure had been shown before, I wasn't aware of it.

Do you think you can find out what's to be done for those of us who pledged for lots of Enforcers including individual extra Enforcers?

*bursts though room with axe* HEEEAAARRRS JHONNY!!!

James, just wondering but when will the Enforcer Peacekeeper models be released for retail? was really looking forward to them as they are the main minis that drew me into the game

Also (to everyone else) I do not own a copy of the PDF but Im asking how balanced are the rules? I've never played a mantic game system before so I don't know what their balance is like, and I really don't want to be doing another 40k moment where I picked the "wrong" army (as in the one which is most underpowered, as I really like the Enforcer faction)..

Happy go lucky, I haven't looked at the dead zone book yet, but Mantic balance is fairly good. In Kings of war, you play the army you like. Nothing is so overpowered that it's unstoppable. Balance is a key part of the game there, and I have a feeling dead zone will be too.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Yes, Kings of War is very much a "you play against your opponent, not against the rules" kinda game.
