A few pictures of the standard battlezones that I got with my strike team pledge:

From left to right I got 4 of the sprues on the left, 2 connector sprues and 4 of the sprues on the right.

I got 8 of the sprues on the left and 4 of the sprues on the right.

Also pretty sure that I got a couple of extra bags of rebs/plague models.

@Carlos: they are not to bad to remove, the difficulty is obviously not wanting to remove any detail with them.

@Yonan, that is more the angle and light to be fair, then again her face is pretty flat. The connectors seem durable enough to me, those and the bulkheads have a certain heft to them.

Nice, thanks for the pics!

Incase anyone's wondering, I had a quick check and the contents of the new terrain sprues match up exactly with what was posted originally, despite being on three sprues rather than two:

The original plan was for 4 of each of these (8 total):

- 8x solid wall
- 8x small window wall
- 8x "X".
- 16x barricade
- 8x tiled roof/floor
- 4x diamond roof/floor
- 4x large window
- 4x doorway
- 12x half tile
- 4x door.

And the sprue layouts and quantities in Thraxas' post still add up to exactly the same amount of everything. Accessory sprue is split over 2 sprues but we were expecting that anyway.

The mould lines are a shame, but do look better placed so cleanup should be easier

As this is clearly going to be an on-going problem with restic smart companies should give their sculptors instructions to sculpt with this in mind

so no twiddly details, hoses, corregtions etc along the mould closure, preferable just smooth surfaces and gentle curves with space to get a blade into.

Harumph. I wonder why all the empty space on most of the sprues when the connector sprue shows they can cram them as well a GW if they want...

The connector sprue (at first glance) looks made by a different company.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

I don't see those mold lines as a huge issue, they look easy enough to file off at first glance, but maybe I'll change my mind when my box arrives.

The fortification doesn't look that great - may have to switch out the gun.

I'll hold of judgement until I get my box (should off come yesterday). I said for a while now that this would be the last chance for Mantics Restic for me. I'm a massive fan of Mantic and love there games but I really REALLY dislike there Restic because of the mold lines and headache that ensues from removing them. Absolutely love there Hard Plastic kits (only exception are of course the M@A) and if I'm disappointed by the Restic in Deadzone then I'll only stick to the Hard Plastic Kits from now on.

To be fair if we were dealing with GW Mantic would have released a "Mould line removal kit" for £50 consisting of 3 items available for under £5 at any DIY shop.

For me they are not a great problem, only the ones across faces (1 of the reb troopers) and on the smaller pieces are annoying. But nothing that half decent tools and a modicum of patience will sort out.

Am home for the rest of the day now if anyone wants any more pictures of anything.

*is it mould or mold? Or is this just a UK/US thing. To me mold is fungus and the stuff you certainly do not want on your food.

@ScarletSquig: In exchange for the pics I want some Open Day pics and goss in this thread during the weekend

Runnin up on ya.

It's a UK/US thing. We use "mold" for both; as my Japanese wife says, "Same Kanji, different meaning."

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Can I take a second here to praise Mantic's awesome customer service? Turns out the package was my LOKA pledge (which, since I pay for courier shipping, was shipped WAY early, on NOV 10!). UPS messed it up, and the guys at Mantic are looking into it to see if they can help. Also, they took my Deadzone pledge from the packing queue, and will ship it in smaller pieces, via RM; so the same thing don't happen again!

I am truly amazed by the quick response and the "can-do" attitude. UPS in Argentina could learn a thing or 2 (or 20!). Thanks, James!

Aslo, back on topic, I for one think the terrain looks great. Reminds me of the original Necromunda terrain, only with more options.

EDIT: And the Argentinian flag is BACK! WTF?

Same here really.

I will wait to see everything in person, but I'm with you.

In the future, 'true' plastic or resin - or I'm not pledging!

Unless someone really improves the whole 'restic' thing to the point where this is less egregious than it currently is, of course!

Most liekly due to your ISP.

The mold lines look a little more pronounced than in my corporation marines... but that just means I'm less likely to miss any with the knife . Thanks for all of the photos and feedback, gonna do a thorough unbox on my blog when this comes in anyway but I'm excited to see it all now!

Landing pad doesn't seem to have been that common. I got a set for the angles pieces, but mine is still awaiting being picked up.

I know I got at least one Landing Pad set.

I'm really looking forward to the scenery on this one - that doesn't seem like it will have any of the problems that the other stuff potentially does.

If it's the same restic as Dreadball Season 3 then it's file-able. The softness of the older DB Season 1 restic/pvc meant you couldn't file it and the details were softer. The newer stuff is harder, holds detail better, and you can file the mold lines.

(it went from "this material is barely acceptable" to "this material is just fine" for me)

"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... " - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke

Just watched the unboxing video and Ronnie touched on shipping.

Anything sent so far was just a test batch (and will be 4 dice short). You may have got a shipping notification but they do that first before they pack it so just because you got a notification doesn't mean it's shipped only that packing is underway. They will be shipping anyone that paid for courier shipping first as planned. Royal Mail have refused to take a lot of the packages as they are to big so a lot of backers are getting upgraded to courier shipping but will still go standard post if they are small enough. To compensate those who paid for courier shipping they will get a resin version of the alt. survivor sculpt with wave 2 there will only be about 400 of them and they exclusive to courier backers no one else will get them or be able to buy them. Think that covers it.

Reading DaveC's post a bit more thoroughly means I don't need to add anything

Except how awesome that all is. And how mad the UPS guy is gonna be. I'm probably gonna have 3 of those big brown boxes after all the terrain is accounted for =/

Definitely watch the video on KS update 123 guys, its good (and pretty funny too )

Just realised my Deadzone set has....

One moment please

Where was I?

Oh yes.. Just realised my Deadzone set has got some of the special characters in.. haven't looked too closely yet, but can see the small dwarf female, the plague doctor and the 'Krooters gonna kroot' guy. Does anyone know if the rule cards/stats are available for them yet, and if so where to find them?

Ronnie stated in his hilarious video that rules will be on their way out at some point. Can't remember when off the top of my head, but before the official retail release (as opposed to the retail pre-release).

No worries The mercs are all stacked, would be fun to work out a 'challenge mode' involving 2-3 of the meanest mercs against a normal strike team methinks.

Some shots from facebook. They did a great job on both, love the weathering on that terrain. Saving both as reference pics for ideas when doing mine ; p

It's the gun that makes it look toy-like. The rest of it should look fine once painted. It's a little meaninglessly busy, but its not like GW's stuff doesn't fall into the same trap...

Just watched the video, assuming decent restic... this KS is awesome. Summary of pros and cons that we know of so far

Pros:
- Shipping *early*, pretty big for a KS.
- More items shipping in first wave than expected.
- Freebies (enforcers and maybe other random bits?)
- Free courier upgrades for lots of people.
- Free unique resin sculpt for courier backers (Damn you people! Give me one!!)
- Free plague counters for those that bought acrylic counters.
- New restic formula substantially better with better detail and less problems.
- Hard plastic terrain came out crisp and just like the renders/concepts

Cons:
- ~4 sculpts will be in metal / communication problem where they were announced as all being plastic
- Substantial mould lines on some restic models.
- Some bad mould line placement
- Test shipments missing 4 dice. The majority won't be.
- Fortification gun looks a bit flat/toylike.

Did I miss anything? Other than it looking damn awesome ; p
