On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Been through a good number of mine and they seem OK. A few minis had mould lines on them (along the sides) but they were easily removed, certainly nothing like the 2nd wave of Dreadball stuff if people were concerned about that.

Out of interest, does anyone know when that Plague Mortar team is coming along? Was it one of the optional extras?

Forum monster decided to eat my double post after multiple refreshes, leaving the one saying it was a double post.

@Pacific, Here is a Plague Mortar from an unboxing.

Just note: We did some little pose changes to some of the miniatures. We also used Micro Art Studio bases & forge craft games bases. We did a bit of cut work as the miniatures have a mini base attached to them that gets insert into the main Deadzone bases. We had a bit of fun. Awesome Miniatures.

Will add more to our miniatures hobby album https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.650888208267045.1073741860.475726182449916&type=1

Yeah I'm loving the marauders, I think they came out really well.

They're testing it out with a Short Story compilation first, aren't they?

I certainly hope so. Ronnie has gone on record, during interviews and the like, to say that he does really want novels set in their universes, and they are indeed testing the waters.

My quiet, and entirely biased, hope is that the short-story anthology will leave them with a pool of genuinely interested writers who want to do something more expansive. I know, I am one, as I have a couple Warpath universe novels in my mental slow-cooker, right now, just waiting to get worked on if given the opportunity.

Was thinking about the terrain. ANy thoughts on how hard or good it would be to magnetise it? Clipping terrain together via magnets, if it worked well, would be pretty damn easy and awesome imo. Magnets could be obscured by light poles, or made to look like lights or other doodads.

A hybrid solution could be to glue together a bunch of tiles into discrete walls/buildings/rooms/corridors etc, but magnetise the ends so that you could clip them together in various configurations without needing to fuss with potentially dodgy connectors.

I'm just hoping Mantic will remain open to new writers in future compilations. I really wanted to submit something to the Deadzone anthology, but I was finishing up my doctoral dissertation at the time, and what had to be written took precedence over what would have been a hell of a lot of fun to write. Don't think I'd want to tackle a novel at the moment, but I'd love to do a short story.

@GamesnGears - Was rotating the Ripper Suit's Chaingun arm to point forwards simple, or did it require green stuff type conversion? Nice effect.

Oh, I like that idea. I will have to try it out when I get mine.

Several magnets holding two prefab sections together? Maybe. Holding together tiles to build s structure? Probably not, too easy to collapse IMO.

Mantic have listened to the requests for extra connector sprues for Deadzone and put them up on the website

Do you know what's going on with the UPS shipping then? I got an email days ago saying that the estimated date of delivery was the 28th, but the tracking page just says "Order Processed: Ready for UPS"! No indication of things moving forwards at all. Looks like I might have to give them a ring.

Not that this isn't all going under a tree anyway, but seeing all of these lovely photos has made me keen to lock this down...

That is really awesome. How much $$ is a set up like that?

That looks more interesting to play on than the rolling hills and sparse terrain of a wargame.

That does look pretty cool! However I kinda want my buildings more 'realistic' and not so abstract. If that makes sense. Although im rapidly going through sprues to make complete buildings so I may have to build some like that. Plus ive just ordered some more connectors since ive used half of mine on the buildings below.

That terrain looks really great (with the exception of the sentry gun thing). If Mantic manage to not majorly mess up the injection plastic troops, they might have a real winner on their hands.

The more I see of this terrain the more impressed I am with it. That picture really shows the versatiltiy of the sprues. I can't wait to finally get my hands on it.

It would be awesome if they could get Abnett in on some books. I'd love to see what he could do with the setting.

Is the Survivor figure supposed to be metal or restic? I could swear I've seen both. Is my mind just playing tricks on me, or is he available in both materials?

Theres a metal alternative survivor in the pre release dz boxset limited in number. The ks backers can get it in restic in wave 2.

The difference is the pose with the ltd ed being in a pose more like the artwork.

I don't know how much of this we've seen already (taken from a sculptor's video posted a couple of months ago that I missed), but here it is anyway, component pics of the deadzone zombies:

I wanted to spend more of today putting together terrain sprues, but instead spent it in hospital.

After 18 hours over 2 days of playing with knives, saws, glue and other potentially dangerous implements of miniature goodness... a kickstarter package arrived at my door (not a mantic one), and I excitedly rushed to get it, smacking my foot into a doorway in the process and breaking a toe clean in half. Just a friendly word of gamer advice, don't get *too* excited when you hear that doorbell.

I was supposed to be playing deadzone tonight...
