It looks like we may have an issue with the arm armor for the Ripper Saw, the Nova Cannon, the Beowulf/Grendel and the HEL Cannon. At first blush it appears that the Right handed versions of the armor were included but the left had armor sections were not? WGF is verifying on their end by randomly sampling boxes in their warehouse but I would love to hear from some of you. I am surprised none of the Aussies pointed this out.. did the Aussies get both the left and right armor for these arms?

I would love to know so we can start on a fix for this issue.

Thank you!

I'm looking at the directions for the RH Mauler Claw I got, and boggling...each finger/thumb has two joints, PLUS it looks like each can be rotated in its socket, too. There's going to be a lot of pose options just for the freaking hand!

Indeed, I dare not post picks of some of my finger poses the twist is limited in the 4 main fingers but it does allow for some movement the thumb gets some good mobility but it may be best to glue the post to the had and let it dry before inserting the thumb and assembling and closing the hand. the other option is to glue the post (1F) to the thumb (1E) just make sure you really push it down against (6) the hand body hard so that you provide friction on the thumb and it will retain the position you set it in.

I am sorely tempted to build one of the Mauler arm on one of my Mortis Levis throwing up the horns, having good rocking. It would just go so well with the scythe, I think.

Heh, Horns, A-OK and well, throwing the finger are all just a finger push away

I can confirm the two gun arms I received each only had the right hand armor.

Okay, after breaking out my unbuilt Crusader, and doing comparisons between it and a Mortis, they were very well planned out, indeed. Common parts between the two are entirely on sprues A, E, F, G, H, J, K, AA, BB, CC, and DD. It's not surprising, really, and quite efficient, and clearly planned from the start to be that way. Those sprues, for example, are labeled "Leviathan", whereas the Crusader or Mortis specific ones are labeled as such.

Now, off to do a comparison between the sprues for the full sized Crusader and the mini, to get a better idea of what changes were made in making it tiny.

Apparently, a box is waiting for me at the store. And customs wasn't has rough this time.

It's a shame I won't get there until tomorrow night, and my fiancee has prior engagements so she can't bring me my weapon arms tonight. Ah well...

Alright, mini vs full size comparison.

On various parts of the kit, some of the indexing that aligns one part to another have been changed, for example one of the Vulkan barrel stack pieces has three arc shaped tabs that go into corresponding recesses in the next part, rather than the three pegs that the full sized piece has. Numerous parts have such minor changes. I was incorrect in some of my earlier impressions, such as shoulder parts being combined from two parts to just one. I was in error in that initial impression. I was also in error in recalling where the Vulkan upper brace was free floating on the full sized Crusader, and while a part of the spindle that was separate on the full size one IS now integrated on the mini Vulkan, it's a part from VC1 (part number 5) that is now a part of the main cannon component, and closes the loop on the cannon brace. Several of the piston assemblies are simplified, in particular the leg pistons and the slider that attach to them (part A4) are changed a bit (A4 is now a hook shape, and the pistons that attach to it get hooked by that rather than glued one on each side), as well as the waist pistons being considerably simplified at the attachment points to the Crusader pelvis and chest. Interestingly, there are no plugs to cover where the shoulder arches screw down onto the floor of the chest, as the holes are now covered entirely by the top armor plate. Not sure if they made slight adjustments to the shape/size of the armor, or if the holes are simply in a slightly different place on the smaller model, but it's nice that I won't have another moment similar to when I completely forgot to put them in on my full sized Crusader.

I don't have any of the new wave 2 arms so I don't know the answer to the right/left armor issue. Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the arm kits (besides claw or vulcan) be made for either a left OR right side, with the top arm component above the elbow being the same either way, and you choose the armor configuration? Aren't the armor plates more or less symmetrical and reverse-able? It doesn't seem like Mark would need to engineer left and right armor for most of the new weapons.

The arm armor IS side specific. It's reasonably subtle on the inner plate, but NOT symmetric. Fortunately, arm armor seems to be a separate sprue, and it's likely they just didn't toss one of each side in the bags/boxes, and ought to be an easy fix. A little bit of an unplanned expense in having to ship more bits, I'm sure, but it sure seems fixable.

Added: For example, look at this:

In the side shot of the weapon arm, look at the armor plate and see how the back of the plate has a flatter rear profile, and a sharper curve where it turns in to go up to the apex.

Thanks for the explanation. Maybe future leviathan designs should have reversible armor on the arms, save a little headache

Should be doing school work......but ups got here while I was at my interview.
Glue has been thrown and knife has been flicked.

The hel cannon and ripper saw, the last two arms that I didn't have done already.

Everything went smoothly with the build, directions were great, only stumbling part was no screws , as with the other 4arms, there were no screws in the box, don't think the claws are supposed to have them, but the gun arms show them for the joints. I made due with superglue though. Still only the one armor though for the arms, these two had right sides.

Eat your heart out GW, I have a ranged attack with my chain fist now

Wow those arms are big!

I don't know that I noticed the upper arm (basically, the "bicep") being different for the different sides on my resin models... is it really all that noticeable?

I'm wondering if I built mine right now

Got mine yesterday but haven't checked the armor. Something I'll have to do when I get time. I did mess up and ordered two left hand guns for the gun that is side specific. I'll probably just ebay it and buy the otherside.

I have a question for you NoseGoblin. A friend of mine owns the FLGS I play at and he might be interested in stocking your products. How would he go about doing that? He wants to see my Mortis and I will show it to him tomorrow.

The only gun that is side specific is the Gatling gun. All the others you can build either or. The Beowulf Grendel gun has parts that just friction hold, I ordered two of them thinking I would need one for each, but you can swap the tips out easily to change between the two .

Nope, you did not mess up... The other armor that was supposed to be in the box was not. I am working with WGF on the fix for that now and should have info as soon as we iron out the details.

Ahh you rock!
Best way to stock them here in the US is to set up a trade account with Wargames Factory as they are my primary distributor http://www.wargamesfactory.com/trade.htm

My shipment arrived yesterday, but I haven't gone to pick it up yet. Haven't had the time to drop by the post office.

Gods! Those arms are huge! I'm really tempted to slap a pistol grip on the bottom that HEL canon... wonder if I could rig it to shoot Nerf rounds...

The hel cannon is large enough to mount a power pack inside and led the barrel. Wish I thought of it before I glued everything together . What I like about the Beowulf is that there is a ammo ejection port on the back if it. I looks just the right size for the vindicator shell.
,
tacked the shell on the top to compare size.
The shells look the right size to fit the barrel as well.

I'm considering scratch building an extension on the hopper box, or creating an ammo belt of the shells and an ammo feed slot.

Didn't realize my devastator sergeant was even in the photos .

If I was going to do that mod I'd either cut the hopper open so you could see the belt, or for a more Chaos/Vietnam look, just build the belt and let it hang!

I love the cannon arms though, especially the breech in the back. I wish I'd gotten them now.

And I'm beginning to think Mark has started an invasion of the West coast.

My two H.E.L.s and two Beowulf/Grendels were last seen in LA on the 19th. No information since then, no package arrived, no demand from immigration - sorry, request from customs, Nada. Now I'm seeing all the pictures you guys are putting up and thinking "I've got a free weekend where I don't have to go into work, and I don't have my shinies!"

Even if they also suffered from the mysterious "Invisible Armour Syndrome", I could still have got on with building the two of them with armour and building the other two without. And yes, two of each in case I want to arm my Crusader with the same weapon on each side.

Come on Mark, let's have some APC information as a consolation prize, please?

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." I finally laid hands on mine. The inventory of the box was all good, and I built the ripper saw first... they are huge! I though the Vulcan Canon was a piece of heavy artillery, but it is tiny compared to a Grendel or Ripper!

Although with the elbow joint used to join the weapon to the arm, you really get the feeling that they are meant to take each other out on the battlefield. Infantry would probably be able to dodge the Ripper (only to get stomped!)

I just picked up my stuff (both wave 1 and 2, I went ship on completion) from the post office and ... I'm at a loss for words...
This is the first time I've had any Dreamforge Games products in my hands and I can honestly say these are the best plastic kits I've ever seen or owned.
Everything is so incredibly detailed and the sprues are so packed with bits I almost cried tears of joy.
I don't know if I can ever buy HIPS kits from anyone else ever again, compared to this they can only be a dissapointment.

I may have overestimated how many accessory kits I'd need though - I bought 5; I have 15 Mules.
Can't wait to start gluing these babies together, and that Crusader is going to blow my friends' minds!

I'm certain I can convert ever wargamer I know to loving Dreamforge, so hurry up with those other factions and that ruleset, and we'll make sure you have Scrooge McDuck levels of cash going your way!

(sorry I'm echoing stuff that's all been said before, but I've never been this blown away by any mini kits before, so I felt I had to say something or I'd start calling all my friends unsolicited to babble incoherently aboout the best minis ever)

And German army caps may become the default headgear for all my varied sci-fi minis from now until the end of time...
This may be the first KS where I actually have no regrets at all (except that I didn't buy MORE!). I may need to spend the next week building Sedition Wars stuff to keep my expectations realistic for other KickStarters.

Hmm... suddenly want to start a Grey Knights army just so I have an excuse to buy a 15mm Leviathan...

Well, better stop internetting and start building. I've got a company or two to assemble.
