Loving the new site Mark! That painted Leviathan is absolutely stunning.

Oh man, those are awesome deals. So want to jump in to get some more, but Australia is excluded from the free shippings. Really hope WGF sort shipping from China for us. If they do, I'll jump in big time.

edit: Not a whine about shipping - I fully understand why it costs so much. It just makes it far less attractive of a deal, when hopefully there are alternatives that can make it far cheaper.

Dammit, I've been waiting for someone to paypal me for something they bought and was going to use it to buy a Leviathan at discount. Well, here's hoping they do another for Christmas :/

Are your local retailers not providing support? http://dreamforge-games.blogspot.com/p/stockists-and-retailers.html

I wish the wholesalers would let me know who they are selling to... it makes it hard for me to build an accurate list for my customers if all I can show is who I found in Google. I think they are worried that I would try to sell direct, but this is far from the case.
I would imagine your local shops will have X-Mas deals. Balck Friday/ Cyber Monday are (as far as I know) US inventions created by the retailers to provide Holiday $$.

We have local retailers, but where possible I like to buy direct to give you guys more money. And when you give such a great deal, I *really* like buying direct ; )

Combat Company carry the Dreamforge products, but for example the 20 man stormtroopers are $47 for a box from them, compared to $27 from you atm. That's a huge difference, $1.30ish per mini compared to $2.30 per mini. Cyber Monday / Black Friday is a much smaller thing for us since I think they're sort of tied to thanksgiving aren't they? We don't have that thing here.

I'm not complaining, just want to make sure that's absolutely clear. Just offering some feedback, that if shipping from China *was* an option, it would get you more sales I think. : )

LOLZ.... Seems to me every day is a miracle and a blessing when everything that walks, crawls, swims or flies is trying to kill you or eat you :p Sooooo much to be thankful for when each step could be your last... I jest....

A huntsman charged at me across my bed a few nights ago : / Thankfully I was tv-outing to the plasma on the wall in front of my bed, so had my wireless keyboard on my lap. Smashed that bastard hard to give me time to launch out of bed. Grabbed a shoe, flicked the keyboard off him and he charged at me again. Bastards are so damn fast... got him but it took something like 8 hard swings to take him out.

Next day inside room got liberal amounts of surface spray, outside got liberal amounts of coopex. This is genocide! The complete and systematic annihilation of the entire species!!

Thankyou for understanding our plight. If we ever seem terse, it's because we've been fighting for our lives.

Look at these local prices for the 20-man Eisenkern boxes, and wonder why we still buy from overseas retailers: (ok, Combat Company isn't too bad, but they started as an online retailer and only recently opened a B&M). Of course, they're all claiming a "RRP" of $55 - which is just bs typically made up by local distributors.

War & Peace Games AU$55
http://www.warandpeacegames.com.au/Dream_Forge_Games_Eisenkern_Stormtroopers_p/dfg-in-001.htm

Tabletop Empires AU$49
http://www.tabletopempires.com.au/Eisenkern-Stormtroopers-Dreamforge-Games

Combat Company $46.99
http://www.thecombatcompany.com/categories/miniatures-scifi/dreamforge-games.html

You have to wonder why it's still cheaper for us to air freight a single box from a retailer overseas than to buy a single bulk-shipped box from a local retailer. And the 10% local GST (VAT) isn't the reason why...

I googled it, Yonan. Thanks for the nightmares.

Shipping direct from China would be sweet for Aus, of course, as it doesn't make sense to ship things all the way to Dreamforge headquarters in the US, and then basically all the way back! Not sure if it will work out, but I'm about to feel your pain in trying to get an order shipped from Aus (CNC Workshop) to here...

Oh yeah. Christmas deals. Not really. I dunno if Combat Company does them, but the B&M ones for gaming rarely if ever have them in my experience.

My local game store gave me a hard time a couple of weeks ago when I asked how much his Army Painter brushes are so I could get my wife who was going to the shopping centre nearby to pick me up a brush or two. The result was that he refused to tell me how much they were, and gave me a hard time about "doing a price check on items under $15" - which was enough to

a) Told me that he's selling them for 2-3 times more than UK prices.

b) Make me decide to buy the brushes from TrollTrader on the other side of the planet. (based on both price and rudeness - either at those levels would be enough.)

I know he's buying those brushes off a middleman/wholesaler who is doing the same price bump that the Eisenkern and your stuff locally is getting - which is not his fault, and if something is close enough, I will buy it locally, but 2-3x the price, and rudeness clinched the non-deal, especially since I wanted 2 full sets of brushes.

Yeah Aza, it's hard to justify "supporting local" when they try to price gouge like this. Defiant and Combat Company are generally decent, but as you saw... it's still cheaper to import Dreamforge from the US ourselves. Defiant actually sells Vallejo at a good price (if you have a discount code anyway) that competes favourably, but most companies in Aus sell Vallejo for $4-$5 a bottle /facepalm.

You're welcome RiTides, you googled huntsman I assume? I do have to fix one line from the wiki that I noticed was wrong: "As adults, huntsman spiders do not build webs, but hunt and forage for food: their diet consists primarily of insects and other invertebrates, and occasionally small skinks and geckos." Their primary diet is actually humans. "a family of spiders known as huntsman spiders because of their speed and mode of hunting. " was definitely bloody accurate though!!

Well I just ordered another leviathan crusader, so two of those, the one mortis, a mini crusader, and a slew of eisenkern. Got it from WGF with the cybermonday deal and a free Excalibur sword. It is $0.40 more than from miniaturemarket.com, but not paying sales tax as they are in my city about 30minutes from my house. Early spring Miniaturemarket is moving heir location to a mile from my house , man am I going to be broke, but at least they carry marks stuff in stock .

Coming from the man who made this model, its an Honour, believe me, i'm a fan of your models since the Days of the Warlord sized Leviathan 10 years ago.

Thanks, i personnaly like the Mortis Head, would have loved to put my hands on one of those.

Theophony wrote:Awesome work, great execution. I hadn't notices the skull on the Gatling gun in the previous pic.

Thanks, the skull was added after, when i fleshed out some of the details, first though to add like usual a gargoyle head on the muzzle(still have lots of the old ones in my bits), but seeing the calibre of the gun and size of the muzzle i though that it would diminish the "wow factor" of the size of the thing, but has a Chaos vehicle, it still needs some kind of ornament.

I see you covered over the pots for the chest cannons, maybe you could attach the gargoyle heads on the chest as the auto cannons. Or do they fire out of the big skull on the chest?

Edit:had time to work on my mortis finally. I'm pasting this over from my p&m blog.
Just need to attach chest auto cannons, possibly the chest shield, but might leave it off the mortis for a change from the crusader. And possibly the smoke stacks. I kind of like the models without them or the alternate cooling stacks.

Christmas family portrait, their other brother is still crusading, but should be home shortly(got my shipping notice from WGF).

Oh and a special picture I want to send to GW, a little Christmas best wishes
Spoiler:

Hey Mark, how about a Christmas Leviathan contest? Everyone take a picture of your leviathan in a Christmassy greeting card sort of pose to send to GW. Mine above will get refined before I send it to GW corporate.

I was thinking about un boxing all my marines, vehicles, and GW stuff and snapping a picture of them and then the last pic to let them know not another dime is forthcoming. I have collected for about 20 years now and in just plastic non starter box marines I have an entire first company, battle companies 3,4, half a scout company, an assault company 20+ rhinos, 13+ dreadnoughts(plastic), and in forgeworld I have a battle company of mark Iv marines, five dreads. I had ten drop pods, but have cut up a few for other projects. I Gould how them my five sets of necromunda terrain as well as m scratch built stuff.

I know I haven't gone as crazy with marks stuff as others here have, but hopefully GW would get the picture. But what he'll probably take away from it would be...."hey this guy still needs four more company of marines, jack the prices up so we can have more profit.

Assault Trooper test print

Here are some shots of an Assault Trooper, warts and all. I did not spend much time cleaning up the print because it was not going to be used as a master, just to test fit components such as the shoulders, tasset and tabard.

The Heavy troopers are scaled to be a good match with the Stormtroopers. About 1mm taller than the Stormtroopers (some shrink can be seen in the print), and a bit more bulk overall. Keep in mind when comparing to other mini lines, the Stormtroopers will be on the tall side, so although these may look a little small, they are large enough to look like steal the milk money from many of the other popular mini companies lines and small enough to look like Eisenkern Stormtrooper sized person could actually fit into the suit.

WGF China informed me that they are making progress with the Heavy Troopers so it seemed appropriate to post this. Enjoy!

I need to find a word other than "glorious" to describe things. It's been too fitting lately. Ahhh... fething awesome is always good, mind blowing? Ahhh... so much better than the competition it's not funny. Exact translations of the renders, as with the others (though this is just a test print, not sprues).

Mark, is there any chance of an accessory kit for the Valkir? I know it's been asked, I just don't recall if there was an answer. It was one of the best things about the stormtrooper range imo. I guess if sales have been low for it you'd be less likely to do it, but it's a modelers dream.
