Well, Akbar is a sailor with giant forearms, so the spinach is a natural association.

@Azazelx, Zoidberg only has 4 mouth tentacles. What, you want him to be a giant mass of tentacles with a body attached? He needs this like he needs to be caught between a fleet and a planet killer.

And I almost put in a reference to the board game Mousetrap, but I thought it was too obscure.

EDIT: So, the Wargames Factory email says shipping starts Dec 15th, but there was no Kickstarter update... OMG! They've been shut down by Fox for IP infringement! Why does this keep happening to us?

A mix of Ackbar and Cthulhu would be appropriate, I feel.

I almost didn't see the date of December 15th. I don't think much will get to us before Xmas, but it'll be nice to get everything just in time to look at it longingly until summer.

Come on guys, they are just doing their due diligence, I mean people do move every few years and this has gone on long enough for half the kickstarter people to have changed address. I have moved between phase 1 and now.

I just meant, if I haven't moved, it's not like I need to click "confirm" or anything, they'll just default ship to the same address as the prior wave?

I'd go ahead and confirm it. Last thing anyone would want is for someone at WGF deciding not to ship until they have a confirmed address.

Just logged in and there's no way to "confirm". It's the same as before, so I'm sure it's fine.

Yep. I actually have two accounts (finalized my KS order, then had a bunch more money free up, and they were allowing non KS backers to get in after the fact), and haven't had access to the email associated with the second account for almost two years, nor do I remember the login password, but my wave 2 stuff all got here just fine.

I know, and don't fault them. I'm just grumbling and impatient, now that stuff will be shipping on Monday.

Weird, I had a confirm button, if I remember correctly. The second email specifically states "if you've already updated your address, then disregard this email." or somesuch. Like Theo said, I'd rather they send, what, 8Kb my way to make sure rather than have them waste money re-sending stuff or hearing about it on a shamefully negative thread on a forum.

Anyone else just get a WGF dispatch notice? As of yesterday, my package is in Salt Lake City on it's way to the UK

Yeah I got one too.

Which is odd, because all I have for wave 3 is Black Widows, and I thought there was no way they'd already be in route.

No notice for me, but then I've got a lot of stuff for Wave 3, so I expect to be near the end of the shipping queue.

Have to admit it, the issues all show Az was right, China and over doing it WGF torpedoed Mark's enthusiastic outlook for late 2014 last releases, 2015 is more likely to be seen.

Still want the Hanomags and heavy troopers as well as the lady panzerkillers

This is a big problem a lot of Kickstarters are getting into lately.

I've gotten to the point where I won't back anything that starts to get "too successful" if you get what I mean. Once they start getting past the initial pledges you just add so many things that can go wrong and inevitably something has to give.

Nothing either, but then again, I have a command box in my order, so I expect that'll have to be air-freighted to the US and will be late. In January. At least we'll be done before CNY.

I originally had $500 in the Dreamforge Kickstarter but cancelled my pledge when they started adding unit after unit because it didnt add up in my mind. I'm very glad I did and given that the not-titans keep turning up for half-price in the UK, and I have bought a GW knight, I'm a very happy bunny.

Well, they also mentioned a lot of other projects that Wargames Factory took on, thus overloading the pipe-lines as it were. Like I said, looks like 2015 is the more reasonable expectation for the new stuff. I am sure Mark is also a bit upset over the delays as it means he has to also wait to sell, but might allow him the ability to knock some design kinks out and get the next faction line to work out as well.

I think my package is actually en route! I have a tracking number, and it shows it as having had a departure scan from Utah, with an update expected tomorrow, and projected delivery on Tuesday, Dec 30th.

Which would mean yes, it would be delivered in 2013 (*sticks out tongue at Az *)

I'm actually shocked that they're getting them shipped now. Even though they obviously won't all arrive, or probably even ship, before New Year's, it's nice that they pushed to get it done here finally!

I have trouble believing that. WGF keeps pumping out tons of kits - including their own.

What is there to be believed, really? That WGF WANTED projects they signed on to do to be delayed 12+ months? That makes even less sense than the presented option. Yet, the kits for multiple projects were delayed that long so something had to cause that delay as it makes no fiscal sense for WGF to not complete them in a timely fashion for a number of reasons.

Likely what's going on is that the projects were far more complex than they thought when they signed on, and WGF lacked sufficient specialized engineering resources to work with outside people for these kits and their requirements. This in all likelihood lead to issues with scheduling for tooling and production (machines don't sit idle at such factories) and so they focused on the "easier" kits with in-house staff while trying to iron out all the peculiarities with this and other projects. Miss a scheduled production/tooling window due to some issue or another in the kit (see Mark's "elbow in space" example in this thread) and it could be 2-3 weeks (or more) before another becomes available.

It is what it is, but it does seem that they had a manpower shortage to get these things ready to roll when they needed to be. Such is to be expected though if you look at the manufacturing process as a whole; those machines must be busy or they're not making money. Holding up production to fix the scheduled kit isn't an option, so they just get re-shuffled in the queue further down the line.

That actually was the problem. Kingdom Death, Malifeaux, Secret Weapon, and Dreamforge were all hitting WGF at the same time, and some of those involved a LOT of sprues to design, cut, and tool.

Also remember a lot of those customers were cash customers, and DFG had a lot of things riding on credit.

While DFG may have been the first project (for sake of argument), they were not going to keep the doors open. Big names bringing in cash is going to take priority
