Mark, a question concerning the Assault Valkir.

Is it me, or are legs D2 and D3 both right legs when they should be one of each, and E2 and E3 both left legs? If only it were that we'd do the switch at will, but they mix together... not so well.

Hey Mathieu, I am not sure how much help I will be... I still do not have the retail release of this kit myself, only un-numbered sprues from the T1 shots. I would need to see images of what you are looking at to be sure.

Mark could you give a time estimate when the APC hits retail for those who missed the kickstarter?

Pretty please with sugar on top.

FYI: MSRP/RRP has been set and order forms sent out to the supply chain. I would expect to see 'some' of the kits making their pre-order rounds next week.

This is just my estimate I am not sure how accurate it is, so please take it for what it’s worth (just a guess)
WGF will likely start shipping Monday or Tuesday but I imagine it will take a couple of days for most of the supply chain to get an order in. Add about 4-7 days to that transit time here in the US and some direct order stores may have stock just before the end of the month. I suspect most that use wholesale suppliers, so perhaps late the first week of February for most retail?
EU/UK will likely see stock the second week of February?

Released on this round:
The 15mm Mortis
All 8 15mm Weapon arms, some are in short supply ATM
The Three Valkir kits
The APC

Released in March
28mm scale Right Hand Vulkan Cannon

Released in April:
The Command Squad
The Panzerjäger
The Thor APC upgrade
The Odin/Loki Conversion

You can check out MSRP/MRP on my website: http://dreamforge-games.com/collections/everything

As it doesn't appear to be on the site, can I ask what the RRP of the Black Widows will be? Same as the Eisenkern, or more? And will there be a 10-man box of basic Valkir?

I'll get you some pics of my second kit's sprue. I think some pieces have actually been moulded "reversed" because they would make perfect sense otherwise.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Just figured it out. It'll make more sense with the pictures, but here is the run-down of the problem.

Crotch D1 and E1 are inversed, as well as Legs D2 and D3 being both right legs and E2 and E3 being both left legs.

So here is, what I think the right nomenclature:

D1 = E1
E1 = D1
E3 = D3
D3 = E3

And everything should be kosher.

Here are the pictures I just took. I hope I'm clear.

Thank you so much for the post Mathieu! it helped immensely.

You are on the right track, and indeed the sprue is mislabeled with the wrong part #'s for the D and E leg sets

But I came up with a different result based on the pose and legs for the D and E figures.

(D-LEG SET)
Crotch- (E1 on sprue) is actually D1
Right leg- (D3 on sprue) is actually D2
Left leg- (E2 on sprue) is actually D3

(E-LEG SET)
Crotch- (D1 on sprue) is actually E1
Right Leg- (D2on sprue) is actually E2
Left Leg- E3=E3 (correct)

Any resemblance of this post to written English is purely coincidental.

It works good too. Well, at least I had part of the answer.

At least WGF will be able to insert new instructions rapidly? I assembled half a Valkir 20-man box to make sure the other legs were fine. They are.

I agree that Eisenkern are awesome models very reasonably priced.
The 3 units I have were all bought from FLGS at retail and still an excellent deal.
That said, an option to buy 10 heavy valkir for $30 would also not please GW

I need to get a Heavy Weapon Valkir set for my friend. (I got 2 Assault Valkir by mistake, mine, not theirs) I'm happy to see they are reasonably priced.

This was a good KS, all in all.

Where did you see that info? And how much for 5 assault Valkir?

Man, if he wanted to go for the throat they should have been 20 Valkir for $45.

NO MERCY

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Not that $3 per Valkir is bad. But $2.something per not-space marine would have been a foot-lifting knee to the jewels followed by a knife-edge knuckle fist to the throat. Metaphorically speaking.

It's in the links Mark provided. I wonder how much the dip of the Canadian dollar is going to be reflected in those prices.

Well I went in deep and picked up a Crusader, the alternate vents and an additional (left handed) vulkan cannon.

The presentation is top notch, real quality packaging which is a nice change.

The plastics themselves are exceptionally well cast and they feel great.

Definitely of the same quality or better than GW. The detailing knocks GW out of the park though.

The base seems pretty damn tough too, this was something I was worried about for some reason.

Roll on the Valkir to retail.

EDIT

I also recall a "fluff" section of the website, it doesn't appear to be working/there anymore.

Can anybody shed some light on this?

That's just the MSRP. Internet retailers like the Warstore and Miniature Marker usually knock off another 10-20% (and Mark's own store and WGF have done sales, too).

I see these selling like hot cakes next Christmas. GW quality with more style and no stahl helms should appeal to many more people than the stormtroopers did. A couple of tanks will make this the premier line of HIPS minis.

Then an op for force for the coup de grace.

I GOT MINE! I GOT MINE!

Yep, it's a pretty big box to clock in at 31 pounds shipping weight.

And my Pile of Shame grows.

EDIT: Just assembled a Valkir trooper. Goes together very well. Unlike GW models, there's no guessing on how to line up the arms with the gun, as the gun "locks into" the one arm so can easily be glued to it ahead of time.

Oh god. I thought I was bad. I still wouldn't take a picture of my shameful collection though. Your bravery is astounding sir!

Also I think I saw that transfers are on the way a couple of pages back, or they are at least being thought about.

What about brass etching detail? I was thinking that the surfaces of the vehicles would be prime for something like that.

I'd imagine Iron Crosses and Aquila brass etch are easy to come by, but I'm damned if I've been able to find any.

I just assembled the first of my two mini mortises... some of the hand pieces are tiny!!! It is a very well engineered kit, for its size.

Lovely, just lovely. With all the mini arms, everything still gets assembled much faster than the big boys.

This is something I'd like to know too. I really hope they are not KS exclusives [I know that the leader was, but didn't think that the squad was.] as I have a nasty suspicion that I will need them to finish off one of my APCs - or replace the squad I was going to do if I need to canibalise them for the ones inside the APC.

On a related note, would anyone in the UK be willing to send me some spare female bits from the APC compliment if I need them?

Can't wait to get a real good look at these. I'm going home for the weekend and may actually get to start on the interior paint on one before I show it off to the local branch of the Miniature Armoured fighting Vehicle Association early next month.

Mark had told me that he was going to try and put some female bits into the seated crew for those of us that may want to do one for our Black Widows.

Either he didn't have room, or time, or whatever. Or maybe they're there. Either way, I have 3 APC's inbound and that may be enough to make a single one female occupied IF there are any on the sprues.

Or maybe there are a few seated legs on the Panzerjager sprues. Hence my question about retail release and price for them, I may need to buy another set to get one standing and one seated. Even then, I may have to beg some seated female legs from someone.

Hey Mark.

The Mini-Nova Cannon doesn't have number tags for gun cowling. Or Heat sink. Whatever, the four pieces that cover it. It is far from a big deal, but the numbers aren't on the sprue.
