Hard to deny that those don't look pretty damn good. Just a few gothic touches like maybe some brazier-type exhaust vents on the backpack and some greenstuffed Ecclesiarchy amulets and job's a good 'un

They do look plenty good!

The craziest bit is that even by the time you bought those, the statuesque heads, and the plastic models, it's still cheaper than GW

You could build a time machine, hire thugs, go to the future and kidnap an army of sisters of battle with vehicles, shrink them down and bring them back as your tabletop army and it would be cheaper than GW. They would also be grateful that you saved them from being wiped out by an imperial army just to show they are hardcore.

I do like these.. if you wanted to mix in some Sisters-like helmets, the Spartan type from Anvil looks somewhat similar to the official helmet.. kinda.. It's kinda funny.. none of the other places I would normally look had anything close ;/

Quick question - is the above (awesome!) conversion possible using the Support box? I'm not sure I want - or can afford - the £40+ Heavy Trooper box just to make a handful of not-SoB

They should. All he did was put a female head in the hole. I am using my Assault Valkir to build Veteran Sister Superiors. It looks ace.

It would be tricky to get them to hold regular bolters with the Support box but a bit of chopping of arms and it should be doable!

I have extra arms from the set, worse comes worse. A falt enveloppe shouldn't fetch too much to ship.

Where are the heads from?

Statuesque Miniatures. I just received mine last night and the size is just perfect for these.

I had his more realistic 28mm, used them on regular troopers, but those heads fit with the beefier power armour much better.

Out of stock :( any other companies that make female heads like that?

Statuesque Miniatures has ordered more from his caster (what was meant to be a 3 month supply ran out in less than 3 week)

Brother Vinni has various female heads..
I like these because they have respirators and if you're doing incinerators or similar, you'll want to knock in a set

Although kinda true, it's also that the original Sisters are so exceptionally overpriced that this multi-part conversion works at all.

They look good with the head swaps, and also, those packs would add to them for a more gothic feel if desired.

Wow, I love both the hooded Valkir, and the SOB conversions!! Very, very cool. I have felt somewhat that the heads might not be the strongest parts of these models (hard to do in HIPS maybe). Both of those head swap conversions take the kits from being awesome to freaking ridiculous. I am impressed!

I'll be happy when the Dreamforge stuff is up on the bits stores on E-bay... I want a heavy kit but not with all different weapons :/

there are, many people felt they look too weedy with GW weapons in their hands though. I took one of mine and tried a couple of weapons to see how they looked

That's because GW has stupidly oversized 1/35 scale (or larger) weapons..

Try arming a Dark Eldar with that same Bolter, and I think it looks similarly silly.

Yes, the models all differ in details, but at a very high level, they are casually similar. OTOH, the Leviathan is very different, it stands alone. If I were doing it, the Eisenkern Scout Walker would be laid out as a cross between an IG Sentinel and GK Dreadknight, with Leviathan Crusader styling.

It's a visual reference to historical WW2 armored vehicle styling.It's similar for a reason.It's intended to be.

Nothing new about that.Big 'ol guns is part of the GW charm from day one.

I'm very well aware of that Mark was referencing the SdKfz 250/251 designs. Thing is, he already updated the Hanomag, and the StuG. The light walker could have been done far better.

And besides, I'm pretty sure the Leviathan itself is all new, nothing to do with WW2 armor.

The light walker isn't done as far as anyone knows.
He may very well be updating the look a bit before it gets to production.

And it's a scout walker. Not a combat vehicle. Light, maneuverable, small so it doesn't get it's friggin face blown off.

Yeah, the light walker will see some revision for sure. I like the legs but the rest is up for grabs ATM.

I likely will not start rehashing that kit until after the Shadokes bulk forces have been completed in CAD and the StuG has been sent in for mold splits.

have to agree here. while id like to send money instead of e-cookies its hard to justify buying the heavy weapons box when I want multiples of one heavy weapon and none of the others.
I understand though that it may not be useful in the dreamforge universe and only useful in others but nonetheless, its the same reason I wont buy the awesome eisenkern troopers heavy weapon box.
