That whole blank slate thing is a huge selling point for me actually.

What you don't like varying stats?

This character has 12 strength, but only 8 dexterity so he can't wield the bow.
This character has superior stats to everyone else so he can do whatever he wants better than anyone else!
This character can't do jack squat.

It's too bad the one that doesn't do jack squat is the one I always like the most style wise.

Retail will release after backers and preorders go out.

Considering he's dropping some WIP's and unknown models it's likely he's the real deal. I'll rehost and post in a couple of hours if someone doesn't beat me to it.

It sounds like people who kickstarted 3 years ago and people who Pre-ordered 2 months ago are both going to get to enjoy the game at the same time.

I wonder if I could have taken the interest earned on my pledge and just bought the game 3 years later for a little more money, lol.

You also have to consider the increased price on expansions, and their possible availability.

Wow. Very interesting thread. Particularly thought this bit was insightful.

Tidbit from that 4chan thread (emphasis mine)

We have a warehouse in the AU. However small rewards (pinups, promos, etc) will be shipped from our office in the states. We are currently picking and packing those orders now.

So we're each looking at 2-3 packages - core game, which is going to local warehouses, small rewards for extras and pinups, and then expansions at a later date.

That quote + the overall themes + the rules will be enjoyable and fun but far from the "simplification and standardization" that some people want/need means that this game was probably destined to remain is some sort of 'Boutique' category.

But that's probably OK and it will still probably sell really well too.

KD and Adam has got its own "Superfans", to steal a phrase!

I have been looking at KD:M as a boutique game for the past couple years, although I do believe that the game "got away" from Adam during the development, and I do believe the game would have been better with a product manager / editor to winnow things down. But none of that matters, because the game is what it is, and it's on the boat. I'm looking forward to finally receiving KD:M.

Next update is supposed to be the big Fulfillment Update. Should have major info drops and (I'm assuming) previews of what's in the boxes.

" Dice, Promos, Armor Kits, Pinups and your T-Shirts, are all being shipped from our office in NY. It was the only way to make these complicated pick & pack orders fit into our budget. Warehouses charge per pick, usually around 0.50 - 2.00 depending on the place and your deal with them. I also trust us internally to get this right much more so then I do with an external company."

" All of the expansions were designed to be very modular. The Gorm expansion, for example, has rules for you to incorporate it into a campaign two different ways. 1, by simply adding its intro story event to your next year on the timeline. 2. Starting a brand new campaign with the Gorm intro at the very start of your campaign. It has a pretty nasty re-occuring climate story event, that can really change how a new campaign feels. It does not replace anything, its merely added. Your settlement may hunt it, or anything else that is available to them."

"Sorry. My lips are sealed on shipments until I make my big fulfillment update. All I can say is that, internally we are packing small reward boxes like crazy and that the core game + survivor level rewards are still in transit to their respective global warehouses. My favorite part of the project? Playing with friends and fans during gencon was an absolute blast. In recent memory, the experience I had at Gallery 42 was a tremendous high point. Otherwise I would say, anytime I get to clear other work away and get back to creating. I still just love that part!"

Yeah, you picked your size through the kickstarter pledge manager- just to to the kickstarter page and click manage pledge. It should be there.

Techraptor interview with Adam is up: link

There are some things discussed - not in detail - which I'd consider spoilers such as campaign duration. Just an FYI.

They seem to be shipping smallest orders first as the emails so far are for one or two figures so there may be some RoW orders slipping out... who knows. We shall see as people report mails on KS

Yeah, mine confirmed a Dragon Sacrifice pinup + the White Speaker (2 models total).

I'm not sure what's going on with the Twilight Knight we're supposed to get (one per backer for any physical goods), and I'm wondering if it'll be bundled with the Game.

You will get a separate email notifying you when that ships.

It may take up to a week for the tracking number provided below to be live.
Your package will be delivered via FedEx SmartPost
Tracking Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Promo Rules
The challenge scenarios and associated cards will be provided via PDF November, 2015. Printed versions will be made available at a later date.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at support@kingdomdeath.zendesk.com

Make sure to be as descriptive as you can and to include your backer email or pledge ID # as it will help us help you faster.

It looks like the rules and challenges are being held back until later to avoid any spoilers. I would guess the printed versions will ship with the expansions

That's kinda interesting- if the rules will be available via PDF will everyone have access to them?

I'm sure everyone will have access to any KD PDF files. They'll probably be made publicly available through official means, too, maybe.

I got an email for a white speaker and a t-shirt today.

Which was odd, since I don't remember ordering either one of those items, my pledge manager receipt doesn't mention them, and I didn't get a survivor pledge (they were never able to bump me from base game to the next pledge level).

I guess I'll wait and see what ends up arriving.

Weird. Maybe it was just a generic letter that went out to everyone for whatever small items are shipping? I know I got a few messengers.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
