FREE Rules Download

http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/pdf/rtrooper.pdf

We wanted to start fairly modestly with this Kickstarter, and our Goal will fund two 8-man infantry squads (one for Southers, one for Norts), and three variations of Rogue Trooper himself - one of which will see Rogue armed with a heavy Lazooka!

This will be enough to start building a platoon or two and start fighting for your corner of Nu-Earth - but we very much hope you will stick with us and start unlocking some of the more exotic units!

We will also produce a hardback rulebook. This will appear later this year when the rules have all been written, and you have all had a chance to make comments and suggestions on them!

Hm, it's in UKP instead of dollars. That's going to hurt them a little right off the bat. But then again, I'm not sure how well known Rogue is in the US...

I don't care for the design or the misuse of the term trooper. A trooper is used as a rank only for those units in Commonwealth armies that have a cavalry tradition. Trooper =/= soldier.

Interesting, always one of my favourite characters from the comic! Will be cool to see what comes along.

Presumably extra stuff will be added to the £50 and £75 pledge levels? As it stands there is no incentive to go for those options at the moment.

Really like the look of that tank. Is the Leutnant spelling intentional? I'm not familiar with the source of the game, so I didn't want to assume it was wrong.

Um its from a comic set 1000s of years in the future where clones fight robots in the poisoned air of Nu Earth.

Who's to say what the correct rank is.

I'd love to play a tabletop game set in 2000 AD. Some of the warring factions could be Microsoft vs the Justice Department, Bush vs Gore, AOL vs Time Warner....

There's nerdrage and then there's this. I laughed, I cried, I shared, I questioned my sanity, I came through it a wiser, but shaken, man. Kudos, for hands down, the most ridiculous thing I've read online this side of usenet. That's a serious talent you have.

Aside from the pressing AND VERY SERIOUS issue of the term Trooper,I cannot wait or this. Hope to see some cool units in the game from the comics and some hostile terrain - especially biowire and of course, Chem Clouds.

What's wrong with the conversion rate? a pound has been worth about 1.6 dollars for about as long as I can remember. There's never really been a 1:1 equivalency on those two currencies...

Seems, they included 2 German looking ranks there. Leutnant = lieutenant ; Kapitän = captain (but only in the Navy, otherwise Hauptmann) .

Trying very hard not to pile my entire monthly wage into this. I love Rogue TROOPER. If this was a Strontium Dog kickstarter I would be poor forever.

So am I to take it you don't want to hear of Dark world Creation's 70mm "Rogue Trooper" and "Judge Dredd" figures?

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." This looks like fun, I've been a long time Rogue Trooper fan (I won't tell you how many times I've replayed the old GW board game or the Xbox game!).

Sign me up for the first rank that gets you a Blackmare Tank, though I struggle to see how something that big will be possible with GW-like dimension squeezing.

I wasn't a fan of the mongoose JD line (don't like the scale) and am a bit KS'd out but I'll prolly take a punt on this one.

The Norts are a quasi Soviet/Nazi state mixing the most stereotypical aspects of both. The ranks are a bastardisation of the respective sources.

I'll be the one to help you with this.

Between this one and the A.B.C. Warriors, you have one heck of a read. I met this comic, and subsiquent 2000AD mags back in the old Heavy Metal days.

There was Heavy Metal, and then Marvel had Epic.

Between them I expanded my horizens in comics and badassery.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

It's also used by the SAS, an elite military regiment, which is probably where the character's creator took it from...

This does look very interesting. I'm certainly going to be keeping an eye on it and seeing what happens.

Flagrant misuse of the term "Trooper" will not stand though.

There are two main factions-Norts and Southers. Dependant on how the lines pan out, Norts can have Scum Marines, Sun Legion ( hang gliding shock troops)Southers can be really crazy if they use the Fort Neuro storyline ( Napoleon obsessed Franks, holiday camp Limees, Scan female troopers). Marauders are deserters from both sides and could be a possible third faction.

Clan Gore also invents the internets.

And they both can have a highly contentious special character, Chad. The super powered variant, Hanging Chad, is direct only.
