I like the necron, looks like he's going to outloot the orks. Nice gathering of bits and excellent wear and tear on him.

The twists turned out beautifully! Well, in their own special way. Meatgrinder is definitely my favourite though - you've got such a wonderful face on him. The variation in skin tone is nice too, and I like your rust effects.

Really looking forward to seeing what you do with the necrons - I wasn't sold on the idea from your initial description, but that first gent looks promising. Keep it up!

Thanks! I knew it would be slightly harder to make a necron gang, to make all of them look individual with character and it takes alot more effort to actually come up with stuff for them but I got a few ideas up my sleeve

Here is another member of my necrong gang, he will be the leader of it the gang. He is "Sokaris the cunning". I made the model out of the plastic warlock and parts from the necron plastic sets. He also has a familiar, "Mindspike". Mindspike is an infiltrator that moves unseen in the ruins of this world, he also has the ability to jump inside people and take control of weaker minds for a short period of time before they die in agony. I made the "body" of mindspike by putting green stuff around solder wire and then putting it in greenstuff industries tentacle maker.

The shape of it I made by pouring PVA glue in to the cracks and then let it set. This gives it a very liquid-like surface that is very smooth but still slightly irregular. I then painted it with very watered down caliban green and then mixed in watered down warpstone glow in the still very wet caliban green with gentle brush strokes from a big brush. I then did the same thing with very watered down moot green. The key is to "mix" the colours with gently moving the brush without blending them.

Well, I'll readily admit I wasn't to convinced by the concept of a Necron gang either, but so far you seem to be making it work! Thumbs up!

The interesting thing, from a narrative standpoint, will be to figure out how much awareness and sentience these guys possess: Do they see themselves as Necrons? As Necrontyr? Do they still feel any kind of loyalty towards their dynasty, or have they gone rogue?

I'm also really looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the paintjob. Personally speaking, I'd make these as rusty and grimy as I could

I'm thinking these necrons have roamed this ruined planet for hundreds of years and slowly started to devolop some kind of sentience. (Kind of like the robot guy in irobot and similiar movies )

Yup going for a brown rust with green details(eyes/orbs etc) for contrast. Most cloth will be black/grey.

Here is something I've been working on today for an hour or two, there are still some details to fix. This is "The hunter". A sharpshooter who skins his victim with his skinning "knife" and also has a trophy collection on his back, including another necron who crossed his path.

The last mutant is very cool. Really like him.

The two gangs fighting it out look great.

When you said Necron's I was thinking faceless automatons but woah you have made characters!

The hunter is ace.

Nice work on the mutants, but those necrons are really amazing!

Really like hunter and skull collector. Where is his pointing hand from?

Thanks for all the feedback! The hand is form either the immortal or lychguard plastic set, not sure which one.

Today's update for the gang is "Siegebreaker". This is kind of a futuristic "Frankenstein" necron, put together by the mad creator(mechanic) of the gang(yes I'm working on him as we speak). Siegebreaker is an absolute powerhouse but every now and then he malfunctions and need a repair. Here are some early WIP pics.

That hunter is amazing. Where is that cloak and the skulls on its back from?
Seigebreaker looks to be a mean .

These guys make me think that somehow a few orcs got downloaded into necron bodies, and now they're ready for anuver go at it.

The cloak is from the marauders set. The skulls are from the staff from the plastic vampire coutns necromancer(used his body for one of the necrons). Yes they are slightly orky but what are they going to do when they have nothing but scrap metal and no superior necron technology available to them?

These guys are looking very good. I think maybe swap the head of the thunderhammer to something different? Even just a solid lump of metal. At the moment it ties in with the terminator legs and just looks a bit familiar.

Good suggestion, I'll see what I can come up with

OMG you have just made Necrons cool to me I love the Frankenstein guy but I do agree alter the head of the hammer for a block of metal or concrete block.

Wow, the latest one is sooo cool! I could even see a similar model being used to represent one of the Men of Iron from the Dark Age of Technology. Plus he reminds me a bit of that huge robot in the old Judge Dredd film.

I may just end up stealing this particular idea one of these days...

See whilst I agree that frankenstein looks good, I think he looks aesthetically too terminatory at the moment. Have you tried a pair of destroyer shoulder pads on him? Maybe the torso too?

Can't really cahnge the torso or legs since the whole thing is glued together to support the thin waist What destroyer shoulderpads are you refering to?

This one. They're pretty big and chunky in reality, a Destroyer is about Terminator size if I recall correctly. It'd make him look a lot more like a Necron.

You could add some rib style to his chest anyhow, to tie him in visually.

Good suggestions, the idea behind the miniature is when I wrote frankenstein is that the creator of the gang have found a bunch of parts on this world and just installed the AI of a necron in to it. I was kinda thinking that they got lucky and found a dead terminator and simply took his armor and based the creation of it

Ah, it's making more sense. Maybe instead of a terminator, it could've been a powerlifter, or some kind of environmental protection suit used in the Hive City?

For extra bits, you could consider a roll cage or something, in case it fell over?

He could be painted in an off yellow too, if you went with the power lifter idea.

As for the chest, you could maybe carve ribs, or the impression of ribs into it? Like an afterthought by the mechanic?

He could also have a large boiler or somesuch on his back? Or an exhaust pipe running down his back, like the necron spine, to tie him in a bit?

I really like the minaiture, he's kickass, and has inspired lots of ideas haha!

I saw that shield and was immediately impressed! How are you making necrons so cool?!

I do agree though that he would benefit from a more unique hammer, but either way really impressed can't wait to see more =)

Wow, these conversions are great! I especially like your necrons (playing them myself). And I might have to steal some of your ideas for my royal court.
On the subject of the hammer, you might be able to make a power maul out of two preatorian staff heads (Skulltaker is a lychguard, so I'm guessing you might have a few of these lying around ^^). Cut both in half and assemble them as flanged edges around a handle. Would still look brutish, but would add a little more necron-looking parts to the mini, distracting a bit more from the terminator-ness.

Thanks for all the kind words, makes me really happy since I wasn't 100% sure on this project from the start. Im very happy how the miniatures have turned out.

Today I've had a day off work and been fixing some details on the previous necrons but I also worked on a new character. I think I'll name him "The Creator" or something. He is basically the mechanic of the warband. He repairs the encrons and created Siegebreaker from scratch. He got a buzzblade on his left arm and a blow torch in his right.

Also made a new mace for Siegebreaker(don't say it looks too much like the new DA terminator maces...)

Siegebreaker is much better, I think he looks excellent. A real ABC Warrior vibe to him.

The Creator has a bit of a Futurama vibe to him which is also cool. Are you doing a flayed one conversion? There is a lot of potential there for an awesome model.

The creator looks comical but in a good way the legs are hilarious, robot rickets but on the hole your miniatures have so much character and they are necrons, now thats just genius

The new mace looks and suits the model so much better, has a more archaic feel about it which matches the your design.

I cant wait to see what you create next now you have a little helper.

Thanks for the feedback The next thing coming up is actually doing the last details and then painting them! I think I got a nice compisition and wont add any more models for now . Maybe I'll do one more once I've finished painting them. I'll also make an extension to my last terrain piece where I will place the necrons.
