Sasori they have already stated they hope to have some available at the upcoming Open Day (of which i will be attending with a large wad of cash and no spending inhibitions lol) and a general release date would be late April at earliest, they said this a few weeks ago on their FB page..

Also, Did anyone notice the "Warhammer 40k Expansion" at the bottom right of the cover? Perhaps this is GW putting stronger emphasis on "Forgeworld is used for normal games." Or, I just never noticed it before.

The label "Warhammer 40k expansion" exists for quite some time and means the opposite of "FW is used for normal games"; with Apocalypse being the most popular expansion (and Apocalypse units NOT usable in normal games).

I'm fairly sure that FW have lost out on some money by not revealing the event exclusive miniatures earlier.
I've put some money aside specifically for the event models, but if they're awful or I just don't like them then I'm not going to wait through the horrendous queues just to buy a small model to use up that money.
At least if they'd shown us them earlier than 3 days before the event then I could have decided that I do/do not like them and budgeted appropriately, but now I've got some money that would have been spent on Sayl the Faithless and Deathmaw, or the Renegade Psykers, but is now not.

I have to wonder if maybe they've not revealed them because they are going to be doing a High Elf for Fantasy and a Tau for 40k.

The 5th Edition PDF update was taken down by FW last July or August following 6th edition's release. Emails from FW to customer inquires have been "soon". I'm expecting them between now and April 30.

I have to say that any FW high elf model sounds like a model that I would want to buy, especially if it was "generic Mage/hero model".

They have what the event minis are on the FW website at http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Events/Forge_World_Open_Day_2013.html, an Empire Warrior Priest for Fantasy and Death Korps of Krieg Quartermaster for 40K, only shows the pic for the Quartermaster so far or i've got system issue and the model looks pretty cool.
Hopefully the newsletter will be out in a few hours to let us know everything else.

Me too. I'm pretty surprised by them, honestly. DKoK haven't really been in anything new for a few books, and Empire isn't going to be in the new Warhammer Forge book.

They sorta feel like they were extra sculpts that were sitting around the office.....

Shame, I was really hoping for a mechanicus model.

DKoK are in "The Fall of Orpheus" which is likely why they chose to do a new DKoK officer rather than another Space Marine.
They also could have done a Necron, but I think they looked at it as "DKoK officer could still be used as a Commissar by non-DKoK players for the Imperial Guard or as a fancy Inquisitor".

The Warrior Priest I think is just them going the opposite of what they did last year--which was a Chaos model.

I did not realize DKoK was in Orpheus! Sweet! More reason to get the book.

It was a Skin Wolf holding a dead Empire soldier by the chest.

Very intrigued by the Mk. IV squad in the link. Dual wielding pistols and with something that looks like a cross between a grenade launcher and a psycannon. Also, crashed Thunderhawk board tile!

Meh, not impressed tbh. I had hoped that the Enforcer signalled that FW would be using the Event Only minis to put out unique interest pieces that you wouldn't find as part of the main armies(afterall, that was their justification for why the Enforcer was an event-only one-off and in no way meant they would be releasing further models for an Arbite range), but it seems we're going back to slight-variation-on-current-releases promo minis and whatever random bits and bobs they have sitting about the office.

EDIT: Hmm, well looking at the entry for Destroyer Squads, the only thing that weapon could be is the Missile Launcher with Suspensor Web and Rad Missiles, since their other upgrade options are pistols.

Destroyers are in the HH Betrayal book. They're dual pistol wielding psycopaths that test out new weaponry, namely the Rad Missle Launcher. They can also take jump packs with those missle launchers....

Is the next warhammer FW book not Dwarves and Empire against Orcs and Goblins? I thought this is why they are bringing out character sets for all of these armies.
