How dare those women get all uppity and assume that they are on a par with men. Heresy and witchcraft must be at play!

I think there is a statistic out there that Britain has invaded, or at least fought in, 90% of all the countries in the world... talk about dedication

You may deny it but we know the truth, Commonwealth of Nations is just fancier name for British Empire

I wouldn't point to British Imperialism as an example of civility...that was some pretty barbaric stuff. That said:

I'd like to think that "In 41st millennium, there is only driving on the right." It's called driving "right side" for a reason! Though I'm sure that some of the more backwards worlds may have left hand drivers, the more developed worlds would more than likely drive on the right . (sorry, couldn't resist)

While the game may have been developed in britain, and many of the brits would like to think that their side of the road would rule in the future, if the current statistics on left-hand versus right-hand drive hold true in the future, right hand drive would likely be much more predominant. Currently, 72% of roads in the world are right-hand drive, while only 28% are on the left. In addition, more than 20 countries have changed from left-hand to right-hand drive, while only 1 country has ever switch from right to left. These numbers all suggest that humanity is gradually shifting to more and more right-hand drive roads. If these tendancies were extrapolated out over the millennia, certainly the percentages would be even more in favor of predominant right-hand drive worlds.

If you take out of consideration worlds where conventional vehicles or roads aren't used (Ocean worlds, feral worlds, death worlds, etc) and compare it to current Earth standards, then there is only one conclusion.

On really crowded worlds, such as hive worlds, you will definitely see them doing things foolishly due to the years of overcrowded and bureaucratic government making laws for the fun of it. Thus, you are likely to see them driving on the left side of the road.
This compares to Europe where the regions are (compared to the US) old and overcrowded. Hive cities started as normal cities/towns and then where built into the sky, layer upon layer over the foundations of the older cities. This is most similar to current European cities, which are built upon the foundations of ancient cities.

On more newly settled and less urbanized worlds you are likely to see them driving on the right side of the road like Americans and Canadians.
If the settlers were from old, dying worlds, this will be just so they can do things differently from the oppressive and entrenched (left side of the road driving) societies they mercifully escaped from.
Otherwise, this is likely due to the fact that the peoples of these planets, free from generations of establishment, are more independent and free-thinking than citizens from old and entrenched worlds and to celebrate the awesomeness of their new home, developed a custom of driving so as to allow the driver and passengers to reach out the window and high-five the driver/passengers of passing vehicles. This naturally lead to people driving past the right side of oncoming vehicles.

This is of course, when the residents of newer and more free worlds choose to drive on roads at all. As these worlds are often bestowed with STC's for rhinos that are lifted and given larger engines and treads. ('MURICA!)

Britain drives on the left because in the middle ages you potentially needed to defend yourself against the people you passed, i.e. your sword arm would be nearest the person you were passing. Assuming Humans continue to generally be right-handed its more likely that this would become the default again what with all the Grimdark about

Also most of the rest of the world drives on the right because the US decided it didn't want to be like the country it had just kicked out, and then later had the worlds largest car manufacturing industry. Other contries coming to the car driving market obviously choose the cheapest method.

So, in the simplest terms possible, the answer to the question of which side of the road people drive on, is:

Make this a poll and find out.

Then again, in every novel I've read that had a vehicle driving down a road it was usually weaving in and around things.. usually being shot at. Which leaves my guess at: whatever side is immediately necessary to ensure forward motion.

Considering some less-developed worlds forbid the wheel as heresy the question is certainly important. Right hand drive - can't have upstanding Imperial citizens drive on the sinister side can we?

Well it depends on if they have rifles or pistols.

Rifles, right side so they can brace the rifle on the windshield...

Pistols, left side so they can shoot out the window with the dominant hand.

Of course you must realize that the dominant hand is always the right hand as the left hand is heretical and the use of said hand can cause spontaneous witch burning.
