Is this the one with the quicksand, or a different one? Because I can't see how the Quicksand one is an experience grinder.

What are the protocols for summoning the wither?

(I'm assuming they are that the land must be fixed and he must be spawned and killed well away from any residence.)

its the old quicksand one. But there is no longer quicksand. Instead I have four of my friends waiting there to bash anything that lands in front of them... including me.

Indeed, the server has just nosedived.

It came back on it's own due to the scheduled restart. It's started doing those crashes since I added the map, not sure if there's something the map tries to do that crashes it. Will have to look into it at some point when I have a moment.

Whilie I don't understand what that has to do with portal guns, I liked matapata's idea of using the mining age for fighting the wither. I'd just say not so close to the Nexus next time, a spawn camping Witherboss is never a good thing.

Bottom of a quarry was a good idea too, but all the current quarries are still too close to the Nexus for a Witherboss fight at the moment. As long as it's out of "far render distance" range of the nexus (and then a bit further), I think that would be ok.

IIRC, you have to kill a Witherboss to get a star, a necessary portal gun component.

So the Direwolf pack has been updated to version 5.1.0.

However, I don't think I'll have time to do the update tonight, so stick on 5.0.1 for now if you want to be able to continue to connect to the server.

I'll try to take a look at it tomorrow.

I'm a builder more than a fighter. Really, the Lord of the Zephyr is essentially the Fighter of the Lords- Growth is the Farmer, Earthmover is the Builder, Stream is the... other builder?

Though some Wands of Ice and Lightning would be useful, certainly.

Ice and Fire are good too
Lightning is the best weapon in the game in my opinion.

I'm fine with helping to kill it, but it depends when you are fighting it, as I am in dubai for this week

Looks like it crashed when trying to shutdown for the scheduled restart and then couldn't restart because it was still running but crashed.

Should be back now. All these crashes have started since I added the map, and there is a new version available now, so I'll try upgrading that at some point. I'm also going to see if I can update the server to the Direwolf20 v5.1.1 modpack later this evening, so there may be more downtime later on when I do that.

I currently do not have access to my ftb launcher, and a quick google search yields me no information.

So I'll ask, does the Direwolf20 v5.1.1 contain Forestry v 2.0.0.4 or higher? If so it makes my job with the farms a lot easier...

Hopefully not. It should be possible to upgrade from v5.0.1 to v5.1.1 without a reset.

The map plugin is now updated to the latest version, only time will tell if it resolves the occasional crashes.

The server is still running the v5.0.1 modpack for now, until I can test the new one out later this evening.

Yes.

After the nuke was used in the Twilight Forest, I was all like:


and it made me realise that they serve no purpose at all. They don't even actually make an explosion, you just get a framerate freeze and then a large crater. There are other more suitable videogames for fun with kersplosions.

So crafting nukes is disabled. Any you've already crafted should be rather severely nerfed if you try to set them off. Although as I haven't tested the nerf, I'd recommend not trying one out anywhere precious.

Yes, it crashed about a minute after the scheduled restart.

Still trying to figure out why it happens. It doesn't crash, it just stops running with no error.

Anyway, it's up again.

We at the Red Tower are doing an upgraded Chicken Farm- it ought to work quite a bit better than the spawn one once it gets running, hopefully.

Will do more to make it better, as well.

As long as Wood Golems can put stuff in dispensers, there should be no problem.
