I feel kinda bad for making the map untidy

I am on 1.0.1, but it still says I have the wrong version. I checked and it is .14 that I have?

Well not sure what's happened, because it's fine for me and other people are connecting ok and only three of you are having problems. What you could do is do a force update of the FTB Ultimate pack (should be in options before you launch the modpack I think).

Alternatively you could go the manual route.

Backup any single player worlds first.

Find the Ultimate folder on your computer (you can find the path in the options on the first screen of the launcher).
Find the mods folder within the Ultimate folder. Something like Ultimate/minecraft/mods. I can't double check until I get home.
Delete TwilightForest 1.14
Download TwilightForest 1.13-2 from the "Old Versions" section of the page here:

Put the zip file in the mods folder (don't extract it)
Start FTB and try connecting again?

With the metals, well, I don't only use them for building. They're also good sources of Thaumcraft Aspects, and the Gregtech versions remove that.

Dark, im running on Ultimate v1.0.1 Minecraft v1.4.7.

I forced an update on the launcher, and it did nothing.

I havent yet faffed around with folders and files, and I would like some clarification: do I delete the whole Zip folder, or just the mod folder within? (sounds like a noobish question, I just dont want to delete the wrong thing.)

Ok, go on edit modpack, disable the twilight forest, then add the version that you need

I really hate to keep on raining on the buzz of Ultimate, but now I cant even get to the minecraft homescreen...

The FTB Console popped up with a massive error message (spoilered below). I cannot make head nor tail out of what it means, im hoping Dark can, cos I have no idea what is going on. I have also already changed the folders around, so that may be the problem.

I've been experiencing the same lag- however, I don't think it's player caused. Apparently Thaumcraft Nodes can occasionally cause problems- and it seems that the area around Spawn has some Flux issues (I've been seeing a lot of wisps)- so the Accords may have their first job on the server.

When I was on this morning, I noticed glowing orange balls on the minimap that seemed to float randomly (and move very quickly!). I'm assuming that these are wisps? If so, I'd like to call in the Ghostbusters.

Yep. Those're wisps. Be careful- they're aggressive, and shoot lightning.

Someone just needs to cover the node with some blocks and it should stop them spawning.

Build a cage around it and cover the inside walls with those crystals.

They're difficult to kill in the open- I found one and tried to punch it to death, kept missing :(

Wand of Lightning works good.

Might be best if you find your FTB folder and rename or move it somewhere. Re-download the whole thing again, so you're starting from scratch. If it works, then copy any single player save worlds from the moved folder to the new working folder.

I've got a wee bit of a problem. My linking book back to spawn does not work along with the linking book at the area im gonna set up in. Im also well over 7000 blocks away with a 5000 block ocean in the way to get back. :/ is there any way i can fix the books?

Linking books only link between dimensions, not within the same dimension. Quickest way to "fix" it would be to build a nether portal, go to the nether, put the book in a bookstand in the nether (so you don't lose it when you use it). Then use the book. Because you're in the nether, the book will work (travelling from one dimension to another).

At spawn, go to any of the other dimensions, put your other linking book in a stand and then you can use it to get back to the area you're gonna set up in.

When you get 8 blocks of gold and 1 of diamond, you can make a link book modifer that, amongst other thing, allows you to use it intra-dimensionally as well as have it follow you when you travel (you drop normal books on the ground when you use them)

Link book modifiers are disabled. They can be used to grief (disarm) and are a debug block anyway. Follow and interlinking are not intended features of the final version of Mystcraft.
