Well the books may be of use for anyone wanting to travel to that area of the map, as they're dotted a couple of hundred blocks apart.

I didn't stick a book back in all of the locations though, so be warned that you should bring one with you if you go to any of the villages for the moment.

Doing a walkaround once a month sounds like a cool idea

Just happened to decide to dig to the surface in the cave age and what do I find? A chest, right above the spawn, with a Sword of the Zephr, Wispy Essence, Atlas Portal Gun, an Enchanted book and a Logic Matrix Programmer. ...Probably not a big thing for those with established houses, but made the day for little me. I'd make the point too that I don't know what half of that stuff is (but I won't be shooting the moon any time soon). =)

Also... Now need to invest in fire resistance armour. =P

Sword of the Zephyr is a magic thaumsword with a special wind burst that pushes entities away from you.
Also has a chainlighting effect when you attack a mob that's near other mobs

Darkinnit I found an item called "Material Emancipation Grid (Unfinished! Do not use!)" in a Wisp chest. That interest you? =)

It's part of the PortalGun Mod. Bizarrely, while the Portal Gun (and Gravity Gun) mod has one of the most adjustable config files out there, this Material Emancipation Grid can't be disabled (possibly because it's not finished)

In the Portal games, it's basically a forcefield that you can walk through, but any items you're carrying get destroyed.

So be careful with it if you do try it out.

I've not heard of anyone having any issues, but if you place it and it spawns Withers in your house, it's your own fault

I have one too, found it in the Pyramid that was my first base.

Yeah I think I still have one from the test server, thought Id hang onto it in case it does eventually do something.

If you need fire resistance books, I think I have some,I think mffs is turned off, but I can't speak for anything price did, so visit at your own risk

I've left the cave age for now, not wanting to lose another load of stuff to a stupid death. ...I'm now in the Twilight Forest hunting Lich' and punching Hydras. XD

Keep a journal of your journeys! Seriously, writable books aren't that hard to make, and I really, REEEAAAALLLYYY want to fill the Library with actual readable stuff. We got bookshelves, lets fill them up!

Actually- for any and all of you. Go ahead and write stuff. Doesn't matter what (journals are neat, research notes are neat) doesn't matter in what style (I'm doing mine 'in world' but anything goes), just write books, so I can put them in bookshelves in the Library at 0,0. Then when anyone new comes on, we can just direct them there (gonna make a thoroughfair eventually) to let them research what everything is. I know NEI can sometimes be confusing, and not everyone likes using wikis.

Anvil, you can raid my library of enchanted books next time I'm on, I just want to make sure that some things are kept with me

It also doesn't stop you getting cooked in a boiling crucible.

Go ahead! I just want stuff, Variety, BOOKS of all kinds. I'm talking hundreds if possible.

This place is gonna be awesome eventually. Like I mentioned, I'm planning a golem system with some farms and grinders and autogenerator things to keep the whole tower supplied with basic resources (if possible), and hopefully I'll be able to manage it with hidden hallways so you'll just hear the pitter-patter of little wooden, clay, and stone feet all over the place. The farms and grinders will be waay down deep below the tower.

There'll be a central Library setup around the central Shaft- multi-level (two or three floors, at three or four shelves high each), an armoury with a forge and Infernal Furnace (and normal ones as well- the infernal furnace can be kinda harshe on the local aura, apparently). This will be in one of the offshoot towers- this one will probably be one of the 'floaty' ones, connected by a single hallway. There will be a dormitory tower as well, with a similar setup (though maybe set up like a 'cactus arm' bud tower). A potions room, and an enchanting room, probably each in their own little bud towers- Relaxation areas, lounges... Kitchens maybe. Waaaay at the top (it'll be very very tall) will be the Lord's Council Hall. And everything will be accessible with a series of Arcane Levitators setup for both going up and coming down.

The sounds amazing anvil, as I've said before I'll be the forge-master, also I think you'll need all the help you can get! Calling all lords, masters, adepts and cultists of the triarii. That's

Also the wooden golems running the device are prone to go AWOL... so if you are next to the device and it isn't working look around the tower to see if they are outside enjoying the sun...

Whilst I'm currently living as a hermit wizard raising bees and studying researching Thaumcraft, I'm very happy to help with interiors of the tower/be part of a larger community.

Brilliant, also asherian that was the original plan, lords have a personal tower and there's a main tower for the triarii in general.

Alrighty then. Well, what I currently need most are Warded Stone- we've got the Brains down, and smoothstone's never really an issue- it's the Thaumium Ingots which are, right now, the clog in the machine, which are required for the Arcane Stone Blocks which go into Warded Stone. We'll also need Arcane Levitators (a bunch) so if you want to start collecting Air shards, I'd be appreciative of them. Don't make the levitators yet, though- Not sure how many we'll need, and don't want to waste them.

The Location is 0,0 in the overworld- not that far from spawn, but decently away. You should actually be able to see it on the map- it's the big circle. It looks a lot more impressive in-game, because the map doesn't support Thaumcraft blocks apparently.


We also need Lapis Lazuli, Blue Xychorium/Xychoridite, and sapphire blocks. Also, if one of you would like to set up a Blue Wool farm, that'd be awesome. Pretty much anything blue that you can build with. Blue Metal Fenceposts and stuff as well.


One thing that can be completely handed over to anyone who wants it, is the Entrance. I haven't decided whether we'll use a bridge or a docks, so don't build anything out to the tower just yet, but there's a cove perfectly in line with the tower- anyone who wishes can start making that better as the shore-side entrance to the Tower. If you want to start on a major thoroughfair to Spawn as well, that'd be pretty neat.

I'll be doing the primary tower work, though. I have a specific look in my head, a certain kind of grandeur. I know others have similarly great ideas, but generally, I think, a project tends to be more 'whole' when it's done by one person.


And of course, Write Books. It's gonna be a BIIG library, and it'll need a lot of books.

I can sell you the lapis, blue xychorium, thaumium and air shards.

Im gonna keep a dibs on the Hill i picked out for an alternate base, ill keep all my Science Shizwaz there, and once my Thaumcraft stuff is up and running, Ill keep that at the tower

Remember, the Tower is going to be for the Community. Keep any Thaumcraft equipment you want to use for yourself in a personal place- of course, if you want to just use the Tower as your base of Thaumcraft operations, well. That's why there's gonna be a Dormitory, after all.

But I suggest you use an over coat of white, so it stands out. So marble insides.
