ChickenChunks Chunk Loader's the thing you want. The Railcraft chunk loaders that were popular on the Tekkit server now need a supply of ender pearls to keep running.

It does stop working if you don't log in for 7 days though. That's a setting I've set on the server.

Okay. I used that one, set on a 5-sized circle.

Um, 5 sized circle?

That means you are loading a lot of chunks... the number is setting the diameter of the loading area

So you're loading around 20 chunks (give or take a few, I'm unsure how many chunks a circle area misses out on)

If you turn lasers on youl see how large the area is it covers.
Its an option in the chunk loader ui.

So Grundz- Do you want advanced or Strong Clay Golems (they're the ones that take from all available inventories in order to keep 'their' inventory filled with a specific number). Advanced can do up to 6 different kinds of items- Strong can only do one, but can carry up to, what, 32 at a time? Maybe even up to 64?

Or do you want Stone Golems? They'll empty an inventory into a marked inventory, of a specific item.

The number of loaded chunks isn't ever really the issue. It's what you have in those chunks that matter. You could load a single chunk that contains a chicken (or sand) singularity and it would bring the server to it's knees, or you could load a 10 chunk radius square of an empty plains biome and the server wouldn't bat an eyelid.

the ones that maintain a set number in a set inventory, since I'm going to be pulling from barrels i'm about 90% sure the normal "not smart" ones are the only choice In testing I couldn't get the smarter ones to pull from one more than barrel (you have to click on the underside of the barrel to get them to take from them)

Well, I know there's a couple Zombie Grinders, so we should be able to get you all the Rotten Flesh you could ever want. We'll probably have to re-route one of the Brain Golems for that purpose in the Zombie Tower at spawn- and I'll start dropping you from my personal store- I got a couple chests full right now, from level grinding.

unfortunately there isn't one material thats better than others for methane I have 4 centrifuges running off a thermal generator right now humming along, which I think should work for now, its very scaleable so if someone needs more and keeps bottoming out the supply they just need to provide me with a thermal gen and 4 centrifuges and i'll take care of all the piping and such. Ideally zombie brains or beef or apples dropped directly into red-red-pink (the chest that the centrifuges draw from) would be ideal so you dont jam up my other systems with craptons of meat Right now its easting about half a stack every few minutes, its not going to outpace any farm whatsoever

I also finished setting up a massive recycler which seems very productive, its making a fairly constant supply of cells and tin cans that I can smelt into infinite tin (once the current centrifuges are all full of cells at least)

maybe next weekend, i'll setup all the public stuff, I'm a little worried about someone hooking massive machines to my supplies so I'll probably have to design some sort of buffer into it, and make a few of my red-red-ect. chests private if it happens.

as for lag, i'm working on cutting out as much tubing as possible and working everything into independent ender chests, so if one section of the system breaks it'll just stop accepting materials, no more layers of filters that will keep 16 million sand in limbo.

I am willing to trade a ton for a few ghast tears and wither skulls as well

Five chunks. One center chunk and each surrounding one.

Whee. My Iron Tank is going to get full overnight. Lots of lava for cells for my thermal generators now.

And I can always expand the tank to boot, if I want. And I probably will.

Now I want to build a tank. Shame the driveable carts can't work off of tracks.

You can always re-texture the tracks to something more fitting

Was not how it looks but the function. I'd rather not be restricted to rails and have a cool drill cart to zoom around in.

Ah, I see. Makes sense Wasn't there a way to stack hundreds of minecarts inside each other and make a car that way?

It can still be done with MCEdit, but that's not really a workable solution on-server

Hmm... You could look into attaching a Track Layer and a Track Puller (or whatever it's called- picks the tracks up from behind you) to have a sort of mini tank, driving around making its own rails.

There's an idea. Probably test it out in singleplayer first, see how it turns and such.

Depending on how it goes server could get something like those light cycle matches in Tron.

Grundz, maybe it'd help if you let us know exactly what you're going to be using the golems for. Yeh?

Darkinnit, earlier this night I was with anvildude showing him my mages tower in the sky age. On the island just before my tower, we fought off some mobs and dodged a creeper explosion. I was lucky as I was very close to tge edge numerous times.
I pressed T and was about to comment on the fact that I was going to make a better bridge when a mob (don't know what it was) had hit me and knocked me off. I was utterly useless to do any thing as I couldn't move being halfway though a sentence.
I know I ask for a inventory reset alot, but this occasion is especially annoying as I know I couldn't do anything against it.

I wasn't on the edge, I didn't even know there was a hole

Actually, I think it was pure lag, that time. I was there, of course. It was actually a spider- I killed it, but about a second later TDA got pushed through the hole. He should've been completely fine- no other mobs around, and like I said, I'd killed the spider like a second before that, while Pimp's feet were firmly on the ground.

Today was a great and highly productive day!

Iustis: When you get a large stack of ores, use the induction smelter down in the pulverizer room. Just put the ores in the pulverizer next tothe smelter, make sure the smelter is full of sand ,and let it pulverize and smelt. You'll get more ingots that way and it's partially automated.

Actually, if you put the ores in the Smelter with the sand, you get 2 dusts (or ingots, not sure which) and Rich Slag, which can then be used instead of sand to triple the ingots/dusts from each ore.

0.o I don't think being attacked by a mob because you were in chat warrants a reset. One, you should be specially aware, and two, you could always awkwardly cut the sentence and deal with the mob. Though falling to death because you were about to you almost fell to death seems more like karma was out to get you.

Oh, and if you're the one who built the green pyramid in the Sky age light up the damn thing. Whoever lives there's got there bed and pretty much the rest of the area in a zero light area. ...Bearing in mind that its the sky age and one creeper could blow you into the abyss.

...I may have a slight torch /not being attacked by random mobs whilst I work fetish.

Edit:

Anyone know what happened to the anvil at spawn? I didn't look for it too much, but someone's moved/removed it from its original location.

To whoever supplies the white-white-yellow zombie-flesh to spawn, I hooked up your flesh supply to my centrifuges for methane, it currently pulls 1 flesh every 5 seconds which you are easily keeping up with. If I can keep this thing from stalling, or switch it 100% over to zombie flesh I'll make the methane public too

Public free lava is up: tesseract channel 40
Needs: magmatic engines, redstone conduits:

Public free biomass is up, tesseract channel 41
Needs: apetite donation to red-red-red no machines, need to scale up my wheat farm

I dont mind people hooking these things up to their own machinery but if you do so, please donate a few things to ender chest red-red-red so I can keep up with demand, I'll list what I need donated below each if the current supply rate cant keep up with demand, all these farms are set to run off of my own excess materials, if you run them all dry the tanks will still be 50% full.

Overall If someone wants to help with the machinery things are starting to get out of control and could use a helper.
Next i'm working on a warp reactor to keep anvildudes magical donations from corrupting my machinery
