You can reset NEI's saved settings to try to fix it:

Close Unleashed.
Go to the folder where you have Unleashed installed
Navigate to Unleashed/minecraft/saves

If NEI doesn't work anywhere (singleplayer, multiplayer, other servers etc):
Delete the NEI.dat file and the NEI folder

If NEI only doesn't work on this server:
Navigate into NEI/remote and delete the "176.9.48.109~25585" folder

Start Unleashed again.

Woops! Nice spot! You must be the only person to have tried to craft anything from Xeno's Reliquary (or the only person to report the problem to me). Reliquary was still disabled on the server (probably from the 1.1.2 update), I've re-enabled it now. You should be able to craft things now.

Hey dark, I haven't had much of a chance to get on (and when I do, I've not felt like doing minecraft), but if you get on you can feel free to take your payment for our trade It's at my mining age quarry.

Cool, no worries.

Now, in completely unrelated news, and coming from a conversation I had in-game last night, I have decided to add a new rule to the server.

It really is a shame (and slightly ridiculous) it has come to this, but here is the new rule, taking effect immediately from the time of this post:

If you moan, whinge, whine or complain about having to gather resources and/or create or build things in this game called Minecraft, perhaps this particular game is not for you and I reserve the right to ban you without any other reason.

Now I might be blind to any downside to this rule, so if anyone has any legitimate reasons against this rule let me know.

Oh yeah, I mean, there is quite a difference between "I will" and "I reserve the right to". I'm not going to ban someone for mentioning that a Quantumn Gravity Suit is hard to get, for example. I'm not going to ban someone for saying "Oh man, I have to go to the nether again!". This is mainly about the whining, particularly the persistent offenders. Most of you are well aware just how patient I am, so if I've never told you personally to stop moaning, you probably have nothing to worry about.

I fully support this rule and am in agreement with all facets of it.

this is why i am working towards building a UU system, so i dont have to go into the nether anymore. it would seem the pigmen are not too happy with my open pit mine anymore.

Resource gathering and refining is a part of minecraft that you'll just have to deal with, people.

We aren't using a Creative server.

Only thing I complain about is the lack of people. And the lack of interest I have been having in the game lately.

Though thats mostly due to college.

Yeah, I'm feeling too mentally drained to play minecraft lately. Whenever I start getting used to college, whoops, it's test time-- gotta try harder so that I pass the test But that's pretty much how it's always been.

ok i have been doing research on a UUM system; while i have been able to find plenty of videos they are all using FTB versions where Redpower 2 is in.

I have been trying to build my UUM system in single player so i can get the kinks worked out beforehand. The following is an idea of how i intent do build my UUM system. please let me know if i am doing it wrong or there is a better/simpler way to get the same result.

Step 1: Igneous Extruders
- i started with 4 and got them set up and doing their thing.I hooked these up with iron transport pipes and they lead to 2 chests via diamond pipes and a void pipe.
so cobble flows in one direction and splits off into one of the 2 chests and if a chest is full it gets voided right away, simple enough.
Step 2: Recyclers
i have 1 chest sitting on top of each recycler, each recycler has 2 xfmr upgrades so it can accept the same voltage as the mass fab. my stuck point is how to extract the scrap from the recyclers. normally it would be filters with a timer so perhaps as a substitute a redpower engine (or faster engine) to pull it out?
Step 3: Mass Fabricator
scrap gets piped into the MF, power would be from HV solar arrays hooked up to a HV-transformer that feeds the MF and the recyclers. i could use a different power at some point if needed.

hoppers, transport nodes, automatic wood pipes w/ gates are easiest -> hardest

Pardon my ignorance in the matter, but are the FTB instructions outdated? I've added "Biomes-o-plenty" and "Hats" and such to the ModPack, but when I try joining the server, it states that I am missing several mods still.

Namely:

* Applied Energistics : rv11.e
* CCMultipart : 1.0.0.60
* TConstruct : 1.5.2_1.4.2
* LogisticsPipesMain : 0.7.3.dev.622
* McMultipart : 1.0.0.60

Is there a simpler way of obtaining these from the launcher, or will I have to hunt down these mods myself?

Additionally, the launcher only gives me the option for FTB Unleashed 1.5.2; I assume this won't be a problem?

1.5.2 is the Minecraft version, but you should make sure you're loading the Unleashed modpack version 1.1.2. They've made "1.1.3" the Recommended version, but the server is still on 1.1.2.

Click the dropdown that says "Recommended" and change it to "1.1.2", then click the Options tab and click the "Force Update" button. Then click Launch. Once it's launched, quit, and re-enable those mods again (Hats etc) because they get re-disabled when you "force update".

Whenever they finally get around to making 1.1.4 recommended, this will all be much simpler.

Are Quarries OK in the Nether? I know they're not allowed for resource gathering in the overworld.

Quarries are a little buggy in the nether (they skip large sections without any real pattern or reason). Also don't quarries choke on lava? Since Minecraft 1.5 you now get single block pockets of lava scattered everywhere amongst the netherrack at all levels (not just the roof).

However, if you still want to try, I think as long as you go a decent distance away and don't just plonk it down right outside the portal. Also try to avoid mining out near anyone else's portal (I have seen at least one regular vanilla nether portal).

You might find just making a Tinker's Construct hammer and carving out a decent area manually might even be faster than a quarry due to how quickly netherrack breaks compared to the quarries' set speed.

I have a pair of hammers I can use so I'll give that a shot if I need to. Cheers dark!
In other news, anyone selling/giving/trading/pooping tin? I'm a bit low.

Probably quartz, or that blue ore that TC uses.

Were there be dragons....

What's probably the most effective method for producing large amounts of power infinetly? The major snag being that it needs to be able to work underground so no solar panels.
(I may well end up using Solar Arrays or ultimate panels in the Mining age and using tesseracts to ship the power over but im a little way off that.).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

define power, without powerconverters you need to generate everything on its own MJ, EU, fortron, whatever

I'd suggest starting with an underground force tree farm (I can provide lots of force saplings and ingots to get you started) squeezers to turn it into liquid force, and then water or milk as the buffer for the force engines, once you have a self sustaining system you can start leeching off logs to create force-charcoal-stuff and run a standard boiler with it that you can turn into EU with a turbine

either that or a regular boiler with charcoal to make Mj with steam engines, to an oil fabricator, to make fuel, once thats all setup you can make a fuel powered steam boiler and it is more than self sustaining

or start from the other direction and use geothermal genrators and nether lava

Nether lava is near-infinite and sustainable, as well as working underground.
