If I had spent time more time researching instead of running around scanning items, blocks, mobs and players for aspects I would trade you a ToKS.

There isn't an end-date on that offer, I've done TC4 research up to Ichor twice in the last month so I'd rather skip as much of that as is possible. If someone names a reasonable price for the amount of research they have I'd be happy to get the resources to pay it.

I need to find a pair of link books or a portal gun so I can get up and down from my slime islands without having a staircase, once I actually get there...

Linkbooks are quite easy to make, all you need is some water, ink, paper and leather.

Apparently you need a megafethton more, in Monster. trun ink in to ink vials, get some sort of ink mixer, and blarghledeblehrgle I'll do it later after class.

You combine 2 ink sacs with one vial of water to make an ink vial then put that in the ink mixer with a piece of paper. You then craft the resulting page with a piece of leather to get an unbound link book. Simply right click an unbound link book to link it to your location and you're done.

There are ink mixers at spawn and my base.

But no glass to make the vial from, which is what stopped me. I'll go make some later.

Eurgh... so apparently backpacks lose their contents if a monster wears them. I lost almost all the results from my mining... which I put in there for safekeeping...

So wait, was that taken out of a chest or did you drop it after dying or something?

When you die, the backpack lands on the ground and acts like a double chest. I put all my valuables in there so that if I died, they would remain safe. But as they work like armour, a skeleton put it on. It's kinda weird. But I dropped the backpack, saw a skeleton wearing it on a corpse run (before I got butchered with my own Ruby Sword) and when I recovered it, it was empty. Annoying.

Right, I get that, was just worried that we now have monsters that take things out of chests or something.

No, but that would be utterly terrifying.

Well someone has been doing Thaumcraft then, and by the looks of it quite poorly.

Thaumcraft isn't the problem, people doing thaumcraft without paying any attention to how it actually works is the problem.

Regardless, whoever it is should PM me to discuss how much I need to pay them to copy their research.

Taint spread is disabled, so that area was probably already a taint biome and it just got more severe.

Also while preparing the world I saw existing taint biomes become more severe completely on their own. Don't start witch hunts.

Ha ha witch hunts. Get it?

Witch hunt?

WITCH HUNT!

BURN THE WITCH! BURN THE WITCH! BURN THE SHRIKE! BURN THE WITCH!

Yeah, I noticed the same thing happen with the taint biome at my base, and all I've done is scanning for aspects!

So you probably built your house on a taint biome without knowing.

So for some reason FTB is throwing up an error about being unable to download the Monster pack assets.

No amount of AV exclusions or whatnot are fixing it, and the internet has thus far been unhelpful, suggesting mainly that I should create AV exclusions - which, as I said, I have already done.

Unleashed was fine; why is Monster throwing a hissy fit?

The same thing happened to me.

For me, I found out that my internet protection program had blocked the download site, so check that.

Could also be because mojang is having issues, a lot of that has been happening recently...

I eventually had to resort to just turning my AV off completely until it launched. *sigh*

I believe f3 will say 'taint' where it lists the biomes. I could be wrong, though.
