You can empty it by cutting off the source blocks. However, the resulting block calculations of 64x64x?? flowing liquid disappearing will usually cause substantial lag on the server until it all goes away.

If you do this, try to avoid peak hours and at least warn anyone online first :-)

I've gotten that error several times after scanning too many Thaumcraft nodes. It's annoying, and it'll keep happening if you scan too many. Probably because it bloats your character file.

Best Dark can do is roll back your character file to a time when things work, which I believe he did.

What's the best way to get bedrock dust? I don't know if it's possible in the overworld, bedrock seems to be flat.

Huh? The overworld bedrock is flat? Strange. It's the same in the Deep Dark.

I'm assuming you have a Bedrock Breaker and the related equipment to run it already- because the other method of breaking bedrock, the Ichorium Pickaxe, doesn't drop dust.

But the Deep Dark has Bedrock Tree structures, which also come with a loot chest on top- if you wander around you might find one of those- I got a full 12 stacks of dust from one of them.

Or, I think the Twilight Forest has a structure that uses bedrock- the Minotaur Maze? That's a good source, because it's solid lines, and can be mined relatively quickly.

You can rotate the bedrock breaker downwards and clear some space for horizontal bedrock mining. The lowest layer in the overworld cannot be mined.

The lower level(s) of a minotaur maze in the twilight forest is enclosed in bedrock as Anvildude said. It can be mined with the (enchantable!) boring machine. Depending on your power infrastructure that would be the fastest way to get bedrock dust. For smaller scale operations an industrial coil, a gearbox and bedrock breaker (or electricraft battery, motor and breaker) are a good option.

Would prefer some kind of system that shuts it off when it's stored enough power, but Iunno how to do that.

Do coils have feedback? because you could potentially set up a system with a built-in break point, in the form of a shaft designed to snap at the right torque. Or if gearboxes use up lubricant, you could potentially math it out and measure the amount of input power that way.

Not sure if that item is even in Monster.

I'm pretty sure you can use a Vanilla Comparator as well. The Project Red one would just give you a little more control and feedback.

Though, is the Comparator in 1.6?

Do you need regular diamonds or industrial ones?

Diamond seeds from magical plants are anything but easy to get started, but once they're started they're easy and extremely renewable-- with thaumcraft golems, they can be automated, too.

IC2 can produce industrial diamonds I think, though it might produce regular ones? I forgot. Produces them from coal. 1 stack of coal, 8 flint, 1 obsidian.

RoCraft can produce diamonds from coal as well, I'm not sure how much easier or more efficient it might be, if at all.

Quarries can "produce" diamonds of course, but you get all the other stuff along with them and they might take a while to get the diamonds for you.

A few days ago I've set up a coil charging station with safety shutoff. I can move it to a more accessible location or provide screenshots later today. It's using a vanilla comparator and a configurable signal driver (i am not sure if that's the name though) from redstone expanded (i think). Sorry, to be so vague.

Edit:

I took a screenshot of my setup:
Spoiler:

The signal driver from the expanded redstone mod (or any other way to set a specific redstone signal strength) can be set to any value from 0 to 14 depending on how much you'd like to charge the coil. Higher values charge longer. Setting it to fifteen will "stop" the charging process just as the coil explodes iirc. So fourteen is the last safe value. The comparator is a vanilla minecraft item and will output zero as long as it's okay to charge. Therefore we need a signal inversion either with vanilla redstone circuits or with some mod not-gate. The latter might be preferable as they don't (?) incur latency and shut off the signal immediately to the clutch in case you use purely rotarycraft or the relay if you are using a setup with electricraft generator and motor.

Edit2: I just tested this setup in single player with the smaller industrial coil (with a limit of 720 MJ) charged with another (creative) coil set to output 260 MW. The "failsafe" mechanism wasn't fast enough to stop the charging process and promptly evaporated along with everything that wasn't warded. It seemed to work with lower input power though. Best to test it in single player first or use thirteen as the cutoff.

While playing around with the smaller industrial coil i noticed it has changed in the last few updates to only output a maximum of 1 MW now. The bedrock breaker therefore needs at least two coils to work. Or alternatively one of the second tier industrial coils that comes with a limit of 240 TJ and outputs up to 16 MW. I still have a coil in my storage that i currently do not use. You can have it if you like. I also got a spare electricraft graphene battery that outputs just enough current to power an induction motor that in turn can power a bedrock breaker without additional gearbox. Feel free to borrow it.

I just noticed my automatic mob grinder is fairly close to your nether portal. Maybe that's somehow interfering with natural mob spawns? Although i have seen plenty of ghasts while building or testing it.

I'll leave a few tears in the chest next to your portal touch screen.

Edit: they are in your chest now

I've constructed a test setup near your fishing house. Feel free to charge your coils there and/or use the one already charging.

Edit: I added some warded glass blocks to hopefully mitigate some of the explosion damage in case something does go wrong.

Probably some sort of statement about how power generation and the environment can co-exist in harmony.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

To be fair, even manually watering the things has let me build up a pretty decent amount of crops- and that's without me doing a lot of low-level stuff. Most of my crops are Strong Essence, and I even have one Extreme.
