Terminators are looking great , that blue just keeps getting better and better.

For all the great models coming out of GW, people seem to be overlooking the pricing., and I'm too cheap to rebuild with this new golden-plasticrack.

The DI box primaris are fine in cost. The characters are really high though, though I guess that's not terribly different to the norm. But the need of their own tank, that big honkin dreadnought etc...that'll all get costly.

Kinda like picking up some harlequins would be expensive... Best to stick to my existing armies and expand thrm lightly. Box of wyches so I can have wyches *and* bloodbrides, eBay bits venoms just because, the 60-80 dollar flyers because they're both good but more importantly they look awesome. Oh maybe that DE race game, too many bikes before it's over lol but I'd like the hellions.

Space marines are largely good forever except maybe some bits.

There are primaries vs death guard starters coming out which look decent in price and all the talk I've read has said the characters aren't too different from the norm numarines, so just paint one or two up different if that's how you'd expand your force. But I totally understand the cost side and expanding the DE would probably be better anyways. Plus their beast packs could double in your this is not a test games too .

The way I see it is that there's no need to build a new Primaris Army, or play Pokemon with the new models (gotta catch 'em all!) Sure, I'll pick up the characters if I see them cheap, but I'm happy to add the starter set models to my existing forces. I don't necessarily need the "Official" standalone captain or Librarian.

besides, look at what Agis did with the Box set models and BA bits. I'm planning to do some of the same with DA bits, and I'm sure you can also.

Don't do it. Don't buy primaris marines!!! Sorry, back to my old stance . Now there are two of us on the one side, I'm easily persuaded . Keep building up the dark eldar. The primaris marines are going to steal the plot line from the game SLA industries and RG will flip a switch in a year or two and the primaris will turn on their chapters and rebuild imperium secondus. That's when then other primarchs will return as well.

Dark Eldar are cool as well, and having two (or three - Nurgle!) will allow you some variety in your painting and modelling.

If you want the BRB, it's a no-brainer to get all of those models for only another $60. In a pinch, you can attempt to trade-off the Nurgle guys for more bigmarines.

Seriously though - just check out the stuff that Agis did. Again. With all your DA bits, that kind of kitbash is well within your grasp. Convert one of the Lieutenants to a Librarian if you must have one (I"m not personally fussed about having a Primaris Librarian, TBH).

Librarians are mostly meh and I've got 3x from DV anyway

I also have tyranids and a start collecting Tau

Those blood angels are cool. I do have plenty of DA bits, dunno about making robes but hood heads and iconography I'm set.

Hmm.. wonder if I could relic up my land speeder storm to make a dark shroud. I hear good things about the Azrael parking lot and surely adding -1 to be shot can't hurt...

On to the main topic for today... Narrowed it down a bit but... The dark eldar below, blackwash silver or green glaze? Impersonal metallic monster, or venomous vanquisher?

I like the green goblin wannabes. Especially when you get the hellions on their skyboards .

You guys almost had me pick up a DI box while at MM just now .

The black is nice but the green has more character I think.

I think the green looks better too. Dark Eldar look best with sort of exotic and alien schemes I think.

Yar, they're suitably poisonous now. Vehicles will be easy as I'll just paint them silver and then glaze. Was thinking black before but now I think the armor color with black accents.

I'm still chipping away at two more Terminators, just time consuming. I've been slowly repairing and taking care of any minor update conversion work needed on my old DE. Got 5 scourge updated to be a lance team.

Early days yet, but I'm considering my Kulathi invaders for alternative mandrakes will I maybe someday get some of those.

Also thinking about using a few infinity models for my Archon's court. Combined army. Specculo killer for the lahmaean, morat or suryat for the big sslyth dude, and a pair of hungries for Ur-ghuls.

My guys are definitely Drukhari and not Corsairs, but I kinda want a pirate space raider vibe anyway so more diverse aliens.

Is a shame I missed out on death masques, woulda been a perfect harlequin force to splash in.

I've contemplated the DE before as well. I almost bought a box of scourges today at MM as I would use them in a necromunda game as yeld. But until true necromunda returns I can wait.

No idea what a yeld is. I have 10 classic. The new are awesome but I prob won't buy more.

I assume you are referring to some deficiency with SWA? I haven't looked into it nor did i play necro so I'm out of the loop.

The Yeld were the flying Spyer goons. I would just use the DE scourges and make them from a family that believes in chemical and genetic tampering in the nobility.

It was a terrible text-impression of the Emperor. The Star Wars one. Youy know that "feel the POWAH of the Dark Side" bit, but with Dark Angels subbed instead of Dark Side. Yeah, you had to be here, I guess. Not that I did it out loud...

As for the Dark Eldar, I think green over gold works better. Keep the cold impersonal feel for a different army - the DE are all about emotion, anyway. Have you looked into Gangs of Commoragh? That's a damned good value "Start Collecting" there for the flying DE.

Yeah GoC is a pretty ridiculous value. Basically six free bikes or 15 free hellions. Or is it 10, I forget. Either way it's very solid. I could use the hellions but I'm not sure about the bikes. I have 9 already and they're kind of expensive points wise.

Still WIP, but may be as far as I get today, nephew's got a birthday party and the kids love to go and play. The colors are blocked in, the eyes and sword are probably done.. good enough for Imperial work. Black needs highlight, white needs finished, so probably a light layer, wash, and picking out the edges again... and then some more washes on stuff like the ropes and purity seals. I got another teeny micron pen for the writing on the parchment, I'm lazy.

Also got the metal down on a scourge. Need to clean up the black, highlight the black, and then wash it green probably. Then I'll look into stuff like the hair, eyes, and any gems they snuck in "because eldar".

May push to get those first two done, I'd like to be able to say I have a full squad of terminators ready.. but ehh. No big deal.

Cake eaten, currently laying plans to distract children so I can finish those. Maybe an hour left. Just some touching up, scribbles on the seals, brown wash..seal and bases. May have em done tonight.

Then I need to decide if I wanna do a land raider or a couple of razorbacks and scouts or something. And also if I'd rather have Asmodai over Ezekiel, the former adds an extra attack ftw. And of course a Crusader or Redeemer would have enough capacity so that the loose char wouldn't have to hoof it...but classic raider has antitank compared to "yet moar bolters" or big flamethrowers that force the tank to beg death at the hands of melta.. so I dunno it's not perfect.

I mostly wanna knock out a Deathwing thing and then I'll probably expand into an Azreal/Primaris Lt/dark shroud dreadnought parking lot.

The blue-grey on the marines has really grown on me. Also, that DE looks tiny next to those termies.
