Hey Dakka, just got a look at the new Daemons codex and was thinking of possibly incredibly stupid things to do with one of them being allying Tzneetch Demons with Biker Nobz and using the warpflame ability to boost their FNP, yes this would probably take a turn or two but it'd be very stupid and very funny. Anything else that anyone has noticed?

Can you use the template to target a unit in front of you but just happen to hit a friendly unit nearby? If you can you still have to cause wounds to the unit to grant the FnP.

1) Herald of Nurgle with locus of fecundity + 10 Plaguebearers + Aegis Defense Line w/Quad Gun. This gives you a t4 unit ,feel no pain, and 2+ cover save with a BS5 on the Quad gun. If taking a GUO add in instrument/icon and keep him in reserves so that when you get assaulted he can pop in 6" away fro the assist.
2) LOC +level 3 psyker (divination) + greater gift = If you get forewarning + another Herald with grimoire of true names equals 2++ inv save with rerolling 1s Give him the greater gift Staff which makes him Str8.
3) Daemon prince + Mark of Slaanesh + wings +level 3 psyker (Biomancy) +greater gift (sub for Lash). If you get Iron Arm then you have an FMC with 2d6 Str8 shots which can be skyfired if he is swooping.

You can get around this by using the second Change power that is a beam. You can place it over your own models, and still hit enemy models too. Even better, you can control exactly how many of your models get hit.
But you'll have to get the power when you roll on the table.
Some more (expensive) cheese: You can take fateweaver, and another herald with an exalted reward. Give the herald the grimoire of true names. If you happen to roll a 1 or a 2 while using it on fateweaver, use fateweaver's one reroll (he lets you reroll any one dice, once per turn) to reroll the 3+. This almost guarantees that the grimoire will work, giving fateweaver a 2+ invuln that you can reroll.
You can also use fateweaver's reroll to reroll a single dice from your Warp Storm table. The most effective way to do this is to wait until you roll at least one 6 on the 2d6 that you roll normally, and then reroll the other dice if it wasn't already a 4-6. This gives you a 50% shot at getting one of the really good effects.

Keeping a greater daemon in reserve with another unit your ok with coming in on turn 2. Give an instrument to the other unit and it's basically a re-roll for the big guy to come out of reserves. Naturally this only matters if you are keeping other units in reserves.

One unfortunate thing to note is that Instruments only apply to units in Deep Strike reserves. I had been looking forward to two units of Seekers reliably outflanking turn 2 before I noticed that bit...

Yeah, it's only for deepstrikers. But why outflank the seekers? Your basically delaying their assault by a turn since they will easily be in combat on turn 2 on the table.

Plague flies with 3+ poison no longer have their poison tied to their weapons which means you can get one of the AP2 weapons without losing your poisoned attacks.

That's a good point... I'd been forgetting about not assaulting out of reserves.

ah that's right, you can damage them but can't specifically shoot at them, sorry was thinking of the grots and epidemus combo, and the wording of allies "treating them like enemies"
in that case i'd say the Tzneetch Herald and horrors combo with tzneetch flames is pretty lolzy

How about a unit of Horrors behind an Aegis? I've only flipped through it, but I think they can now go to ground for a 2+ cover, which they can reroll 1s on... Wow!

Saves but but not FnP saved
Another something stupid that I noticed, you can take 9 exalted seeker chariots, that's 36d6 hammer of wrath attacks...that's freaky weird.
Edit: forgot that HoS can also take them, so add another 8 to the mix for 68d6 rending attacks on the charge(and whatever the heralds and alluress do) for about 1750 pts and $1,300. Good luck fitting that in the deployment zone though

Also I can't remember if the HoS gets an exalted chariot or hellflayer either way it can give that massive war machine move through cover for 10 pts...if its a hellflayer you could beguile a enemy character and get extra attacks from unsaved wounds on hammer of wrath
Have fun blowing your dough on those 9 chariots. And then you've got to build and paint them all as well. Yeesh.

Funny thought if you could shoot your own unit, Even funnier when your opponent shoots your Nob Bikerz and gives them a 4+ FnP. It resulted in him being tabled. Warboss destroyed a bloodthrister, demon prince, squad of pink horrors, it just kept getting uglier by the turn. Top that off with dakka jets burning down Gandalf the buzzard demon and it just got sad.
That being said, nurgle with some IG allies is pretty competitive. Demon princes with iron arm enfeebles etc. My bikers got ID'd pretty fast to some sick combos.
