Here is the final game from a tourney I played in this past Saturday:

http://rhetorical40k.wordpress.com/2013/03/12/battle-report-seer-council-v-madicon-game-3/

My Seer Council sits in first place, with a nasty triple Helldrake list sitting between me and tourney glory. Do the Eldar/DE prevail, or are the Drakes just too much? Find out!

If you missed the previous two reports, here they are:

Game 1:

http://rhetorical40k.wordpress.com/2013/03/10/battle-report-the-seer-council-v-madicon-game-1/

Game 2:

http://rhetorical40k.wordpress.com/2013/03/10/battle-report-the-seer-council-v-madicon-game-2/

As always, comments, questions, and criticism are welcome! Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for reading! I'm going to try to make bat reps the norm for the events I go to.

Was a good read, grats on the win.

Did you break and sweep Typhus and the cultists in close combat?

I was under the impression he was fearless.

That's what I thought, but then I re-read it closer. Turns out he had cast Terrify, which removed Fearless from the unit.

It looks like your opponent made a huge mistake in game three-- from the picture, it looks like he could have sent his Heldrakes into Hover mode and gone after your Warriors that were contesting the center objective. That said, great reports!

Enjoyable read. I wish my school had a sci-fi convention. Congrats winning all three games!

Nice rep, thanks.

There's discussion about being able to DtW the Destructor warlock power.

There are two requirements for DtW (p68 second paragraph):
The Psychic Power must target the unit, and the Psychic Test must be passed.

As Destructor does not take a Psychic test, it does not meet the requirement of DtW.

Congrats. You're not going to find a lot of armies that can deal with your deldar in such a small tournament, though your last round opponent did do much better than I expected. Deldar is a very good combo.

Yup. Terrify is an incredible power to roll for this reason. Lots of big fearless units don't hold up once they lose that rule. My opponent did not expect that!

I didn't remember that they could hover--apparently neither did he. Helldrakes are just incredible. That would have certainly helped him late game!

I actually had someone mention this to me recently, and I appreciate you pointing it out. It certainly makes the Destructor a bit better! Thank you!

Agreed. There aren't a ton of matchups I fear, but multiple Drakes are one of them. He certainly had the best list that I played against and played very well. I was lucky to pull that one out. Thanks for reading!

Thanks! They were very underestimated in this event. I think that by in large, my opponents were shocked to see Eldar/DE and even more shocked to see a list without vehicles.

Since 6th Edition, I have not run Eldar in vehicles at all. I usually use a list similar to yours with the seer council and jet bikes, I usually then take War Walkers and Vypers as I don't have a lot of dark eldar things.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I love fortune and invisibility together. I did have one game where I failed to roll it on 4 rolls which is not statistical but oh well.

I have tried out War Walkers, and really didn't like them, though I do appreciate the potential of that much strength 6.

Yeah the chances of getting Invisibility is pretty high. It isn't guaranteed though. One of the reasons I like the Baron so much is because I do get a 2++ re-rollable, even without Invisibility. In addition, hit and run is essential to a Council.

Nice reports. Keep them coming. :]

I'm really surprised your opponent didn't hover the drakes in the last turn instead of flying off the board. From the pictures, it looks like he had at least one in range to hover 12" and flame your squad off that center objective.

I think he got a bit unlucky with the charges in t2- heaps of wiff there.
