So 'd it'd be good if the next thing we were planning is plastic hordes of anthropomorphic Rats with Pikes & Shields?

What kind of plastic are we talking about here?

Injection Molded Plastic, rather then Resin/Restic/PVC

Usually not a fan of the anthro armies but my word if that Jotnar turns out anything like the concept art I think I'd probably have to get at least one if only for painting it, actually that whole faction looks interesting.

nice

We're looking into plastics now too. Pricey but not really as bad as I was expecting.

No, I am serious. I will use several boxes for my Skaven straight out of the box. Fitting the look better than GW's ape head night runners. Adding an alternative tail to your kit would only be a bonus, not necessary. But I wouldn't say No to rat ninjas or rodent sohei

Edit: I just posted it on the Underempire forum:

Well, Fox Ninjas are out in metal and Sohei Toads listed in 2nd Edition for Ribenguo.

But the Rat Raiders (Pike, Poleax, and Shield options) are pretty much set to be Vandalands' first plastic troop.

Any chance of a resculpt on the rat raider? The hamster sculpt far outshines it for Vandalands, imo (as do the gerbils).

Short Answer: Yes

Longer Answer: The Rat Raider's current sculpt is crap for plastic, so they will be getting a resculpt.

To be fair, its far from the worst figure in the range, just one of the oldest we have... and anything that is done in plastic will be resculpted and get the Foley Treatment.

C and D are brilliant. The pose and the pauldron look great, too. I'm very excited.

On an unrelated note: was I the only one who saw the Mantic-style design sketch and immediately assumed the model would look totally different. Like, naked mole rats with hammers different?

Well, considering Heath is *our* Artist, its more that your used to seeing OTLG-Style design sketches. :p

They really should have had Heath design the Ver-myn, they would have actually looked like Rats then.

Well, your models usually look great, so that's a relief.

And I'm pretty sure the concept of Veermyn as interpreted by Mantic was unsaveable.

Great concept art. Personly i think something like a kettle helmet or flat top nasel helmet would look better. Sort of like the ones the bretoian men at arms wear.

I think helms like the warhammer beastmen have, those ones with the armored eye bits which look like insect eyes, would look great.

CRAP.

More stuff I'm going to have to keep on the prowl for. Going to need those otters. Probably a capybara too. Any other aquatic mammals I might have missed?

We'll need to have them all unite against the ever swelling ranks of oceanic monstrosities that are continuing to surge onto my tinkering table.

Plague doctor rat head is a cool concept.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

At the moment, the face makes me think more of a lion than a rat. I think the front of the face might look more ratlike if it was more pointed - either by changing the slope of the nose or by moving the front edge of the lower jaw further back.

For the upcoming printed release of Brushfire Second Edition we’ve made a number of changes to the layout of the book from first edition. The biggest of these is the change to 8.5x11 page size over 6x9. This change, along with the additional units per faction and expanded fluff greatly increases our costs to print. After much discussion among the team we’ve decided to split the current eight factions into two books, allowing us to keep the entry price for Brushfire’s rules $25*.

Brushfire =Historia Rodentia=
Softcover Book 1 - $24.99*

-Rules
-The Empire of Aquitar
-The Civitan Trade Alliance
-The Sultanate of Scyzantium
-The Vandalands

Brushfire =Journey to the East=
Softcover Book 2 - $24.99*

-Rules
-The Axon Protectorate
-The Lizi Dynasty of Chugoku
-The Ribenguan Shogunate
-The Great Kingdom of Zabar

Current owners of the second Edition PDF will be grandfathered in and have access to both PDFs. A third book will become available for playtest purchase in a few months, but will not be retroactively added to the current purchases.

We know a number of players prefer the ‘One Book to Rule them All’ format, Late next year we will release a POD Hardcover Tome edition of Brushfire

Brushfire - Complete Second Edition
Hardcover POD Book Tome - $99.99*

-Rules
-The Coalition of Alexandreta
-The Empire of Aquitar
-The Axon Protectorate
-The Lizi Dynasty of Chugoku
-The Civitan Trade Alliance
-The Cult of Exomorphism
-The Federated States of Vespuccia
-The Ribenguan Shogunate
-The Sultanate of Scyzantium
-The Vandalands
-The Vandalands-Ordenstaat
-The Volk-Ursal Republics
-The Great Kingdom of Zabar

*Subject to Change.

Injection Molded Plastic, rather then Resin/Restic/PVC

*starts paying close attention*

I've been reading through the brushfire rulebook that came free with the SW KS, quite interesting.

Any chance of an equine faction with ponies, pegasi, unicorns, alicorns, nightmares etc.? Not sure if they're small enough for the setting, but it would be really cool, and they work quite well as anthro.

So far only Impact! has delved into this side of things (making rather a lot of cash and getting publicity for their KS over on EQD: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2012/10/impact-miniatures-kickstarter-updates.html).. it worked out rather well for them, with a significant spike in kicktraq stats on the day they added the pony pledge level.
