I think the jumping in victory, or dancing, or running, or whatever you may want to call him, goblin sniper was one of the really characterful sculpts.

There is no way those orx are based on the same design as the Dreadball guards. Their faces are completely different shapes.

I have to agree...

Time to dig up the Dreadball Orx pics for a side by side...

Also, what's the $650K stretch goal?

And we are so close!

The EU starters could still use a bit of love, but they are looking pretty good now. Hopefully they see a bit more before the end, but those boosters should be the priority once $700k hits, because they will be what grab a lot of cash in the closing days.

Here's hoping that they can fit all four main faction boosters in along side some EU upgrades (and maybe one or two more Strike Team freebies).

That's not a rumor, my good man, it is stone-cold fact. I emailed Mantic, and the Forge Fathers Forge Guard WILL be digitally sculpted. (I'm assuming the Brokkrs will not.)

That is, sadly, enough to get me interested in that faction too. Need to figure out something to cut so I can save some money!

I don't think there's any doubt that all 6 factions will get the 'BOGO' Booster treatment before it is all said and done.

And I think we'll see 'light vehicles' and walkers/mechs before then too.

Have Mantic said anything about tooling the Enforcers in hard plastic rather than restic?

I'm from the future. The future of space

Well, after giving it some further thought, I decided to opt out of this Kickstarter. Since right when the KoW starter began I've been waiting for the sci-fi one and now that it's here, I'm just not interested in getting another huge dump of miniatures at once. I think I'm going to buy a digital camera instead and start actually taking pictures of the miniatures I'm painting.

The terrain is awesome, the rules are heading in the right direction and I like most of the miniatures, but I think I'm going to wait until the stuff is actually released and see how it all turns out.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

I thought after how KoW was turning out they were going to stay away from using the buy-one-get-one-free terminology... I certainly would prefer that they didn't use it.

That said, those enforcer renders are pretty amazing!

But...you're not even in on this one are you?

You can't even "Scipio" us on this one!

Is pulling a nonexistent pledge now known as "RiTiding"?!?

Alph, as that was only my second post in this thread in over 2 weeks, I think you should respond to my point rather than the fact that I made it

The term buy-one-get-one-free caused quite a kerfuffle with the Kings of War campaign, and the enforcer renders look really sweet! Those are the points in my above post... so again, I would appreciate your responding to that instead of what you seem to be responding to which is not what I posted at all! Cheers

The faces are essentially the same as the Fantasy orcs. I prefer those to the more orthognathous GW-style Orks, if for no other reason that because I have so many of those already.

Now showing Catachan Jungle Fighters and World War zombies!

Painting total as of 30th November 2025: 136 plus a Deva King statue

Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

Azazel, good show way to embrace it / take it in stride / etc

I'm actually surprised how much the orx bothered folks... I didn't really have any strong feelings about them, although that might be damning with faint praise... unlike the RBG orcs which I really love, I just wish they weren't so expensive!

And that is the EU faction upgrades in the bag (assuming a bunch of pledges don't get pulled ). Next up, Wrath!

They're pretty well insulated on this one. Will the $20 bundles be available regularly? Maybe. Even so, will they be available in discounted bundles for those particular 3 packs? Likely not, so BOGO of an otherwise unavailable package?

Further, I think Mantic has a much more accurate impression of what they'll charge for those packs in the future (eg, restic enforcer specialists are a known quantity to Mantic and are already 3d sculpted, whereas the ogres were the first monstrous infantry they did).

^ Correct, these are actually closer to a 60% discount than a 50% one due to 3-pack and then BOGOF on top of it, so Mantic are insulating themselves a little in case people want to complain about them lowering their prices.

$20/£12 for a booster pack of 5 sounds about right, and is in-line with the Dreadball pricing for similar "booster packs" of minis, like the Cheerleaders (which are $20 for a pack of 4).

I imagine those booster packs may even turn out to be $25, which would result in them being essentially buy 2, get 4 free.

I'm thinking $25 for the faction booster and $20 for the specialists.

I just really hope that the arms and guns all come together easily. Want to love the (huge) number of Enforcers I already picked up, but they're nearly impossible to get put together.

The timing of this KS coinciding with the end of pledges for the KoW KS has undoubtedly cannibalised a good amount of pledge money, and that's without getting into people's individual issues with the KoW models. To explain - If you have an (extra?) $100 or so to spend, do you buy that heavily-discounted KoW ogre army, or double down on DZ Factions and terrain? If you want both badly, you'll buy the ogres since the end date is now and Pledge Manager the DZ extras later - which takes away from the potential DZ KS total.

I wonder if that hasn't been their plan all along.

If they can transfer, say, 30% or more of a potentially ~$1.5mil KS's funds out of Kickstarter.com's hands and into the pledge manager, they can reap the rewards of a hugely successful kickstarter without overstretching themselves with stretch goals beyond their means or paying Kickstarter as large of a chunk.

While this Kickstarter is really good value for money, the initial 'wow' factor for me has worn off, and I'm finding it very hard to get excited about it.

Good on Mantic for pushing the value-add envelop, though.

So I am very tempted by deadzone, but I have struggled to find opponents for dreadball in melbourne. Are there any melbourne based backers?

The skirmish type and rules set look great, and I hope the solo play comes through as it might be very useful!
