Perhaps there will be weapons in future that ignore invulnerable saves, or maybe it's just a mistake.

Either way, if it doesn't hurt, no need to worry about it

I think its mostly a fluff point, representing either scaly skin or the God of War providing armour to his dudes. I don't have access to the Fantasy book but perhaps Khorne gets a scaly skin save under that ruleset, and it is kept here for consistancy?

In terms of gameplay, it might come up in specific situations:
- Warp Storm result that inflicts -1 to Invulnerable saves
- Failed Grimoire roll leading to -1 Invulnerable
- Space Marines with 'Null Zone'

If you match 2 of the above criteria at the same time, and facing a weapon with no AP value, then congratulations! Your armour save is relevant.

And they gained Cavalry and an additional wound. The Ward giveth and the Ward taketh (I know it wasn't Ward who wrote it, but "Kelly" doesn't rhyme with "Lord"... ).

Yes, well, I want Flamers to not suck, too. We can't all get what we want.

Playing a primarily Flamer army in Assault on Hive City Alverium, I couldn't agree more.

Well, they don't, so you already got there.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Fluff wise I'm pretty sure korne fav number is 6 for example epi tally number goes up by 7 and nurgles number is 7. I may be wrong correct me if I am.

Khorne's favored number is 8. Slaanesh's 6, Tzeentch 9 (though at one time was 7, I believe) and Nurgle's is 5.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Yes, they pretty much do. Compared to the other template-equipped jump infantry in the game, they really, really do.

Flamers inflict feel no pain on the enemy, are knocked down by a stiff breeze and cost silly points because of their two wounds.

Compare to Seraphim and BA Assault Marines.

Nurgle's Number is 7.
Khorne' is 8
Tzeentch is 9
Slaanesh is 6

Sure, I'll compare them...Yep, Flamers are still pretty fantastic.

You're under the misguided impression that just because 3 Flamers no longer annihilate a unit that they've become worthless. You are objectively incorrect.

Not to mention the point that every Flamer of Tzeentch gets a template; neither Seraphim nor Assault Marines get to have all their models fire templates.
