Or, you could say to everyone, hey, I've been waiting a long time for this and I've played them despite the codex's age. But if you haven't, well, I don't know what you can say.
And No.

I'm planning on keeping mine as a keep sake. It was given to me by a friend when I was trying to get into the game and I've been playing it as my primary army since.

It did well for me, though it's age is really hurting it. I'm hoping for the best really.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

I did this with my old Necron codex. Mostly because I think the cover is bad ass.

It's sad that people are calling it "the old one." You do know, of course, that the current codex is in fact their SECOND codex, and that the one coming out Saturday will be their third?

I should do this with my old Daemonhunters book, maybe people will stop assuming I'm a bandwagon-hopper.

I think once you have more than two editions of a codex, it would be interesting to frame them beside each other. Get a sort of timeline theme going.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

my friend who plays necrons kept his two old codex. He has the original and the "shadow reprint" versions of the codex. When people accuse him of codex hopping, he whips them out. That and he has a lot of the old models. One is a destroyer lord that is riding on some kind of hover chair speeder thing.

You may as well keep it. When you start playing with the new codex, people may accuse you of band wagon hopping when you beat them if they are sore losers. Just show them the old codex and be all like "I've been waiting for this day!" while holding it above your head like some old sacred relic that was both a symbol of life and a constant curse.

Oddly Tau is the only codex I never built an army from in 40k since they have been making codecies...not due to hate or anything, but just never got the inspiration.

My primary hope is that my one regular opponent who plays Tau will finally stop complaining every game about how much his characters totally suck. Can't argue with him though. Leader options: Normal easily killed tau in a combat suit that is only as protective as a suit of space marine power armor., OR Inspiring unarmored tau ethereal whose special abilities only come into play if he can be *seen* by his forces which also means he can be seen by every weapon on table that can easily kill him, which is, of course, every weapon on the table.
