Hey fellas

So I used to own a few tau models back in the day but I wasnt good at painting them and the rules were outdated, but with the new rules and a new painting technique up my sleeve im giving them another go!
So I have an order of new stuff on the way and in the meantime im painting over my old models, i've completed 1 trial so far, let me know what you think, updates coming soon!

So I got the reinforcements I preorded!
I got the Codex, Fireblade, Riptide and Sunshark bomber
So far the riptide and fireblade have been built and primed, and I have to say, although I wasn't initially too fond of the Riptide (I thought the head was too small) it really has grown on me.
Here are pics of what I have so far, more progress to come very soon!
PS you may notice I squeezed in a cheeky head swap on the fireblade, because if anyone follows my other blogs I think you'll know by now I prefer helmets over bare heads any day OF THE WEEEEEEK

Cheers guys, glad you feel the same way! I felt that the head that came with the fireblade made him look chubby, he sort of had no chin...
Oh and thanks regarding the riptide stance Colonel, it was a real pain in the rear to construct but it was worth it!

Hey guys! I've been making alot of progress on the fireblade recently, always painting around those devious cracks and crevices the Tau have, but i'm relatively pleased with the results. I finished the Fireblades armour and cloak today. Tell me what you guys think! More to come, hopefully he'll be finished soon.

Hey hey hey!! I'm in a swell mood becuase i'm so pleased with how this fireblade looks
I blitzed through and finished him today and I love the look of this mini!! I feel this is the best paintjob I've ever done (Except perhaps the captain in my avatar photo)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEASE give me some feedback guys, haven't recieved any replies on my last two posts and I reeeeeeally want to know what you guys think of this Fireblade!

LDP!! Man, have you been eating your wheaties or what?? I know it's been a minute but man, this stuff looks great. It's clear you are enjoying painting these guys. The fireblade looks fantastic. White dwarf worthy all the way. The dark grey sections are really popping too. Highlights are sharp and even and your coats are thin. Killin.Congrats bud and I hope everything else is goin well!

gorgeous paint job (but you already know that

), I really like the linear highlighting on the armor, something that I usually do not like on some people's models , (tends to look to artificial), you have done a nice job of keeping it subtle.

The only real comment/ suggestion I could make, is perhaps the red cape, looks a bit "wet" or slick, maybe like a silk or something, I would think a trooper in a combat environment would have a bit of dust or such along its bottom , but again that maybe intentional.

otherwise a absolute treat to look at, well done!

(I understand the urge to get feedback on a blog, I myself will go sometimes several weeks with no comments on mine, even with regular updates..it happens.

)

The fireblade is so well painted, the helemeted head does all sorts for the model

the only bit that i dont like is the bonding knife but that isnt your fault so no critisim there

yes i do. must be hard to get the white done on such a tiny emblem. it was the only fault i could find with the paint job.

another amazingly good paint job from you, I never know where to find your stuff nowadays! but you nailed that warrior and fireblade! I will sure be watching to see this force progress dude! especially the Riptide! because I have one on its way to me :-) how did you find it to assemble? any tips for the base coating?
