I'm just wondering who was going to Salute this year and if there is anything special to be looking out for

I'm going to go and get a few bits from Black Scorpion plus start looking for more Wild West / Steampunk terrain to use for Malifaux, Dead mans hand and Wild West Exodus.

If I'm in time I MUST have one of the Preview copies of Puppet Wars unstitched as the Miniatures look awesome and it was always a cracking game - but now it's BIG and comes with proper 30mm plastic mini's rather than the dinky little metal ones Simple Miniatures will have some on the day - other than that i've got to wait until may

Not sure what else yet - but i'm sure I'll find more stuff to add to my current Skirmish game obsession! Might have to see if there is anything new from gripping beast and the Studio tomahawk boys too - they always end up with far too much of my cash. As them and Simple Miniatures are right next to each other I don't think I'll be getting very far round the show with much money left...but never mind I'll get shinies!

How do you expect me to know what it is if you haven't painted it! Unpainted models are just proxies for the real thing

I've about £90-100 tied up in pre orders to pick up on the day, plus a load of stuff on a list which I'll be looking for on the day as well as what takes my fancy.

None of it GW

Totally gutted that i am not going this year, means i have to wait for my pre-order of battle group overlord a couple more days. My wallet on the other hand will probably be glad i am not going

Im interested in looking at 15mm Sci-Fi Wargaming

Other than that on my list is another Warlock for Legion ( Hordes ) , maybe a Hordes unit such as Raptors or Striders .

Simple miniatures usually get a fair bit of my business

Maybe a bit of scenery too

Had a bit of buyers remorse last year - I didnt buy enough !

Dropzone Commander and Warmachine are on my purchase list, but I turn up to see friends.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It's my first Salute - and in point of fact my first wargaming convention - so I will no doubt be circulating in a daze, not sure where I am going or what I am looking at.

Be careful, I did that last year and £500 later I had to tell the Mrs I won a raffle!

This year I am prepared and intend to be less of a school boy in the sweet shop.

My planned stops this far include;

FW to get some show figures.and some Ad Mech sets
Crooked Dice to get ZTv and play some games
BF for a WI subscription and some FoW blisters
PSC for some halftracks and BG overlord

I must remember to leave my credit cards at home!

I have about £50 of anvil industry/zinge minis to pick up (last year I had hasslefree/heresy/forgeworld too). On the day I will be raiding the bring & buy mercilessly, chatting to the guys at my local club (Dunstable Generals) and picking up some D12s to play Mechawar with (the designer's gonna be there too and we go back a ways)

Also going to be bringing my surprisingly enthusiastic girlfriend along to introduce her to my geeky side, so will grab a munchkin set or two to start her off, and will be on the lookout for the big things I can afford now I have a job. Last year there was an undercoated chaos warhound for £100-ish, I shall not falter again!

I don't have any plans to buy anything but in 2011 I made the mistake of not buying 7TV at the show price of £25 and I ended up buying it at full price afterwards (£30).

So that is the kind of mistake to avoid.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Does anyone know what ticket price is at the door? The website doesn't seem to bother to mention it. I couldnt order tickets in advance unfortunately. I rarely go to these, do you enjoy them, what do you primarily do when you are there?

Well I know for certain that I wont be buying anything from this money grabbing company. I will if I do buy anything get it frm eBay or alternative, non-GW sites.

My brother (warspawned) and I are going. I've got around £100 to spend, but I've nothing in mind. Possibly some stand in Slaaneshi Daemon Prince, and maybe some FW stuff. I need a suitable Demagogue mini for my 2nd ed 40k army.

Thinking about it, does anyone want to meet up for a beer or three?

If anyone wants a beer, they will have to find me first!

As an edit to this, I will gladly buy any fellow Dakkanauts a drink. (age dependent of course)

A bunch of us are hitting the Southwark Tavern in Borough Market at some point in the afternoon. Drinking around the excel centre is grim at the best of times!

Great, thanks for the tip! I'm a little lazy and would probably have just headed to the nearest pub.. As long as they serve ale of some kind, I'm in!

£11 on the door.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.

Thanks mate. I probably wont bring a lot of money, My primary reason for going is to sell off loads of my old stuff. A whole chimera minus one or two bits from the sprue, some old models etc. Anyone know the policy on the condition they must be in? Again I couldn't find anything,

I will be there this year and am looking forward to it! If I see anyone with anything clearly identifying them as a dakka user I'll come and say hello. Likewise if you know what I look like, come and say hello too

Good point, but in a fun coming together of online and meat life I shall be wearing stripy grey/white rugby to with a skull and cross bones on the back.

The first one to say hello gets a hardy handshake and a boring recounting of all the stuff I've done that day!

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...

Hasslefree pre-orders already paid for - will also stop by Heresy, Crooked Dice, Fenris, Warlord Games, Zinge and Anvil to see what can tempt me...

Am on a strict budget so will take my time... although doubtless there will be some spur of the moment purchases (like the Black Scorpion wild west figures I bought at Salute '12... still unpainted...)

Ooh, and I'll be checking my goody bag for a KR golden ticket...

If anyone recognises me, I'll offer the same as Notprop. I'll be wearing a Barcelona FC top with my real name on the back... And probably the only person at Salute with a footy top on.

(and before anyone says anything, my wife is a huge Barca fan)

In much the same manner, I am going to wear my Arsenal third strip so come and say hello if you see me ambling about looking lost:
