So much fond memories of Monty Python that I'd love to relive with my kids....just not showing them the sacraligious "life of Brian" , who am I kidding, they'll see that and the rest. Just not for a few years.

well... my older son felix is currently starting to grasp what the whole man/female issue is meaning...(starting as he is a mere seven years old...)
soon he will be all embarressed of his dad and then after that period we can have buddy talks...hopefully^^

I am 17 and I am still massively embarrassed by my dad. It may be the whole culture gap thing between him being from LIbya and me being an american teenage college kid. But it's w/e I do love him.

I guess that is a good point. I do enjoy time spent with him, especially as I grow up more. And am alone all week at college.

i bet that is tough to be away from family...
and a fact... at the early age of kids mum is the most important being for kids... but at the age of 7 and onwards it is more and more dad that´s the major parent... sad for mum but dad needs some centerstage too ...and also..when the grandchildren appear she is all over them anyways

Huh it was the opposite in my family. My mom has been the parent and prominent role model in my entire life. It really has helped shape me though and I think that I have grown up well thanks to her guidance.

A 17 year old boy at a college mostly comprised of female student I think someone was not worried too much about your academic future , but even if you blow a year you'll still be the same age as the rest o the class. Just make sure no one calls you doogie howser, unless they also say the non-gay version.

Theo..I need to warn you. The Walking Dead show is much better than the comic/graphic novel. I know that's backwards from usual but....
The book is very dark and disturbing, and if you've made it to the Woodbury part of the show, you really Don't want to start reading the comic, nor let your kids read the comic....especially not them!

I've finished all here seasons now , loved the show, not much sleep, and had I playing while painting. I don't have cable or satellite, so it will be a while before I see the new episodes when they come out. I don't even look at comics anymore, its a shame a have a gigantic collection, more Han most comic shops around me, managed two before I got into warhammer, guess where my money went.
Finding it really hard not to buy zombicide and bash some zombies.

Did some quick basecoating and eBay surfing. Trying not to spend money as we are going to NY for a weekend in two weeks. Other brother in law had a baby awhile back, going to see her.

I don't really like drinking anyways though so it isn't that big of a loss. Still I was thinking that exact same thing today.

Where abouts in NY?

How far from Boston?

Don't actually know exactly where in NY. I should find out so we can do tours and stuff. My mother in law was up there for two weeks and brought back maps and guidebooks. Definitely want to see Central Park (daylight please), and the 9/11 memorial. Not to concerned with Times Square, and just seeing the Statue of Liberty will be neat, but don't feel the need to go into it or Ellis island. My wife was wanting to head up to the Boston area one day to see historic sites so if you have suggestions on an inexpensive good restaurant that's more of a hole in the wall that'll be awesome .

Lady liberty is open now, but you have to get tickets he day before you go. Or that at least was what was the rules my mother in law stated when she went. Might be shut right now with the government shutdown , I know the St. Louis arch is closed, national park, feel sorry for all the tourists from around the world. We deal with his stupidity all the time, you. Guys only get the shaft when you come for a visit, or pay customs fees from our kickstarters .

My mother in law also has a metro card with money left on it that she gave us. So far it's an inexpensive trip. $500. For airfare total for round trip tickets. They are picking us up and dropping us off at the airport, so no cab fare. They have an extra car for us to use while there, so only gas, and we ill be eating out of their fridge most of the time.
