Darn, I was hoping it could be done this week... but of course you have to work it into your schedule, just update what the plan is when you can! It would probably be good to go ahead and touch base with the officer this week to let him know you'd be picking it up next week, though.

Well, you quoted my whole statement which involved letting the officer know you wouldn't be picking up the items until next week, that can certainly be done before then (if it hasn't already). Hopefully, between you and TraceofToxin this can be resolved quickly!

Traceoftoxin, you may want to message scud about that. I think there's a little bit of "telephone game" going on here. It depends on jason's schedule and your ability to transport the items, as jason mentioned having a pickup truck able to haul it all away with. As long as you're all on the same page, as the 3 people who are actually getting this done, it should be good!

WarOne, contacted me, Scud1703, to let me know that Ahirman085 had traded my stuff to him, WarOne. Just be careful.

He realizes the game is up. If he has an attorney he will be advised to try and make it seem like these were legitimate trades where something went wrong. He will not want to say he had intent to steal and he will do everything to convince others this is all a big misunderstanding. Offering testimony of legitimate trades is one way to do that, it pulls attention away from the thefts.

No one is under any duty to talk to this guy. If he approaches you don't message him back. If he has a reason to hear from you it will be through a subpoena (which must be baed on cause).

I had a brief interaction with him trying to get some nurgle heads and since we live like an hour apart he suggested to get a game of 40k somewhere in between to save one of us from driving an hour there and an hour back. ( i love to get a 40k game in every now and then but no way in heck am i driving 2 hours round trip to get a game in). so really after i suggested somewhere in the middle ground which i thought was fair distance for both and i offered money for the heads just because it wouldnt feel right taking somewhere between 10-12 nurgle marine heads for free but he ended up just not responding to any of my PMs. thats my rant about my interaction with Ahriman085 didnt really seem like he was trying to scam me unless he was planning on mugging me.

I am so glad that this kinda worked out for everyone.

As someone who has been ripped off before in a on-line trade, I know the feelings you guys must be going through. I know that not everyone is going to get back all there stuff/money but at least getting some of it back and getting this -not nice person (dakka posting rules will not allow me to use the words I want

)- charged is at least somewhat satisfying I would think.

Great job on catching him before he could continue on and scam more people.

I also hope this goes to show it's not worth the time and effort to rip people off in trades thinking there will be no repercussions. As this goes to show there can be if the community bands together to help each other.
