I'll have my first 1200 or so points of Tau (including a Riptide) painted by the end of the month, I think.

In a broader scope, and extending well beyond May (although the plan was formed at the beginning of the month, and priorities set), my vow now is to do at least an hour's painting a night, until I get this:

fully completed. I'm roughly guessing at around 5 years til it's done, if I can keep on task.

I have about 16 years of GW accumulation to get painted up.

To paint my incredibly old minis that I've had since the 4th grade. I have Bugman's Ranger Dwarves from what I think might be the late 80s.

I guarantee you that I'm not really as smart as the test says:

Here's what I want to get done in May:
1. Convert and paint my DV Terminators
2. Convert my DV tac squad into stern guard and paint.
3. Take old metal Dark Angels characters, Ultramarines honor guard veterans and standard bearer, and old metal apothicary and convert them to a cohesive Doom Eagles command squad.

The May board:

That may end up being plenty of pain for 1 month, but as a stretch:
4. Sculpt some Rhino doors, front panel, back door, etc... And maybe do up a full conversion for what will be my standard Rhino look.

Ugh...

I am still trying to finish my three IG Vendettas.

They are base painted, have the decals well applied, and had basic battle damage and weathering. Now I have to start on the advanced weathering with pigments...and do something with their bases.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.

I am essentially in the same boat. Waiting on my bases from dragonforge (should only be another week!). Then replacing the mounts with dragon forge mounts, getting the mounts to match the rest, and then paint bases and weapons! It feels so cool since its been over a year since I bought these things, I wanna play them!

Those 120x95 bases look pretty cool. Which theme are you using or are you mixing a few for variety?

I plan to just decorate my own.

Since the local GW store (the nearest FLGS is 3 hours away and the crowd at the GW is good) started its "Let the Galaxy Burn!" campaign, I`m vowing to do a squad of Fire warriors by the end of May. Their cadre fireblade is done already and has a nice place in the showcase.

Whereas to an englishman the taking of a sledgehammer to crack a nut is a wrong decision and a sign of mental immaturity, to a russian the opposite is the case. In russian eyes the cracking of nuts is clearly what sledgehammers are for.

I got one each of the urban wasteland 1 oval bases. Eventually I will get matching bases for the squads I haul around in them, if I ever get around to the FW order (or still play). I was going to do my own, but I couldn't think of a theme I liked, and my mounts for the GW stands were falling off the vendettas (bad glue), so I decided to go with a system to mount them that I like better.

Good morning all, my Goal for May is an easy one:

Finish painting this group of Command figs and these 7 banners.

My stretch goal is to get out all of my WFB figs and update/touch up/complete the bases.

May:
Fantasy - touch up the 30 man Regiment of Altdorf (Halbardiers) then dip and base.

Touch up the 12 man Blood Bowl barbarians that were converted to a H2H unit, then dip and base. Most of their weapons and all of their shields came from the Mordheim buildings and infrastructure. Then get started converting 12 more BB Barbarians to H2H fighters.

Dip and base two cannon crews and cannons.

Finish 4 Forest Rangers, including a musician.

SF - base colors on 23 Forge Fathers.

Make a light box.

May the dice be with you!

Bases and Vendettas are done!

It only took me a month longer than I expected.

More pics in the gallery.

I'm moving over the next two weeks (packers show up tomorrow), but I am keeping enough paints, brushes, and other tools out in order to paint Sly Marbo. He's been waiting more than three years to be finished. He's in the pic below at left while pistol-shooting-commissar is the snowy white guy on the right. They are both watching Master of Ordinance get painted ahead of them (MoO was finished in July of last year). MoO is lucky they didn't kill him on the spot.

Ha ha, Arctic Dragon, that happened to me too! I watched all of season two in about three days while my Lovely Bride was out of town...when I should have been painting!

Did some work yesterday, will be doing some more today.
