i hadnt thought about making them public. at the mo there still a work in progress as i keep thinking up new ways to improve the design and keep compacting it to waste less and less material.

it wouldnt be plans as such just a series of drawings each page 500mm x 300mm (size of my cutting bed)

I don't recommend making these plans public. Pretty sure GW dohave copyright on T-Hawks, but even if they don't they believe they do. And they will come down on you like a sack full of old metal dreadnoughts.

Not seen a lasercut MDF thunderhawk build, just the usual plasticard ones (like mine) - it's looking great so far though.

For those of you wanting plans, this is based on Eli Patoroch T-hawk template which is what I used for mine - Google it and you'll fine them readily available, plus many other great templates...

You seem to have either, too much time on your hands, or not enough to do at work.

That aside. great job, i wish i had the patince to craft something like this.

wings are pretty much done now just need glueing on, and i shall start on the engine next.

Those are both looking excellent. Now just need to see them painted. About how much did it cost material wise, and how long did it take on the cutter.

I would also like to second the motion for these plans to be made available, in case I ever find someone with a laser cutter.

valkyrie, it is made from mount board which is a thick sturdy card about 1.5mm think and the round engine sections from a thinner card about .5mm

What are you making the plans on, autocad?

For those wanting plans, Google Eli Patoroch - unless I'm very much mistaken, this is the person who created the ones @lethalterror is using... They are widely available on sharing sites and there are loads of them... I've downloaded most of them and am currently using the same T-hawk plans. Can also find links at the Yahoo Group: BWC-Archive

As for the build, it's great, I thought you were using MDF, but impressed that it's foam-core, didn't think it would survive the cutting process this well. Engine looks great.

sorry i missed your comment, it cost about £4 in materials for the hawk and about 70p for the chimera. took me a day to to do the plans and make the chimera with about 40mins on the laser cutter and it took me best part of 3days to do plans for the hawk and about 2-3 days of making time. with 2-3hrs on the lasser cutter

yes as mentioned they are based on plans by this eli guy but his work is not compatable with my laser cutter and i need to draw the plans up myself using his as a guide.

do you own a laser cutter?
if i provide you with drawings coudl you do the cutting for me? and how much will it cast?

thunder hawk mark 2 made loads on improvements to plans that need testing, prob will sell this one got no room for it

the hawk is now finished and i decided to sell it as i have no room for it and i want to move on to my next project
