So he's strength 8 (or 7?) when he charges with ap2 and an initiative of 6 and 7 attacks?
That doesn't seem slightly over the top to you? He has a higher strength than monstrous creatures. His initiative is higher than those races famed for it.
Either his points need to increase or his stats go down.

hes str 7 on the charge his initiative doesnt change because of new furious charge and yes he does have 7 attacks but thats only one more than a Big Choppa Boss and he has one less Str

Well for readers sake I think it would be easiest to put him up with base characteristics with maybe the modified in brackets.
Few things I see as a potential issue.
I5, S7(charge), A7(charge), Ap2. Thats a crazy combo. I realise that he's getting +1A from wingman and +1 from pistol+CCS so attacks wise its acceptable. But the combination of high initiative, strength and low Ap makes a bit too good IMO. Yeah ghazghkull's got the high strength and attacks but the klaw puts him down to I1. So I would suggest making the axe ap3. There aren't really any standard power weapons which are Ap2 and not unwieldy.
I dont really see the shoota contributing anything. I'm guessing you're probably getting it for the rokkit but those are kinda average at killing vehicles. Taking hull points sure but a one hit kill, not really. For simplicity I'd just reduce him to a slugga so you maintain that pistol+CCW without having to add in a special rule.
Grot Waaagh, at first was kinda meh but on considering it this could have a huge effect. 120pts and you've got 30wounds that will be fearless for a long time. Already grots are a cheap shield and making it a cheap shield thats got no chance of running... makes them very good tbh. On top of that they have marine shotguns, marine... not the average IG ones.
So I would loose the initiative modifier, make it ap3, a slugga and change the grots around a bit. Maybe just all grot units have +1Ld when he's on the table. In terms of the gun, I would at least make it S3 rather than 4.

ok i nixed the extra attack by counting his shoota as a pistol, i just like having him with a shoota. and i honestly thought all shotguns were str 4 which was why i made them that, and granted the grots will be fearless for a long time, but their still wimpy as all hell so a grenade will destroy them.
and the reason i made it ap2 was because i had made him originally in 5th edition when all power weapons were like that, and i simply converted him over and kept him the same and i always felt that warbosses are psuedo-monstrous creatures, i also gave him the init boost because he lost it when they changed furious charge,

Hey everyone I'm playing space marines in the same upcoming campaign as Skragga over there. I usually play a vulkan hestan list with lots of rhinos to carry around my 2 meltabunkers and hestan's sternguard squad. lots of flamers and melta with the occasional couple of vindicators depending on the points. for my own unique character in this campaign I was thinking of something to buff the rhinos I use so many of. Perhaps a company champion of some kind who makes rhinos and rhino variants into fast vehicles? Or maybe "hestan" is the company champion and this guy could be my captain? I would probably have to pay a premium for him to be moderate in CC while handing out this buff to all my vehicles. So here's what I'm thinking.

As for gimmor either make his weapon weaker like with ap3 or drop his initiative to something less then your average eldar unit and to something more like a normal ork hq (like 2 or 3) I can see that his low save will give him a weakness versus other normal power weapons like mauls but the high initiative+high strength+low ap is just too powerful for the points. He is cheaper and stronger then gazzy in hth in just about every respect besides durability bur he is striking so hard and fast it is a mute point

Like most custom characters, OP's is certainly over the top. An AP 2 power weapon with +1 S/I? No. And is the TL from the Grot guy necessary? Why not just give him a TL shoota like everybody else? And does he really need IWND?
Only thing I really agree with is Flash Gits as Troops.
Also
Alexander is a veteran duelist of many centuries
Gets some crappy bonus
Anyone else sick of seeing this? It's like, 40k has absolutely no understanding of the word "time". It's like that master of a million battles guy who lets you re-roll reserves or something ~ big whoop for how amazing he's suppost to be.

Sigh I know what you mean dakkamite but Im not sure what I could reasonably do to represent that many years of experience. He already has a good weapon skill, a mastercrafted weapon, a good handful of attacks and a fun little ability that I shamelessly ripped off from Gabriel Seth. Not to mention he has a captain's stat line, people who have been fighting in brutal melee's for at least hundreds and hundreds of years. What would you suggest to make him feel more like a "duelist" besides having a strong melee statline and a nifty, if somewhat weak, little counterattack move? I don't feel like there could be much to do other than maybe improving the counter attack or making him gain extra attacks when people miss like how Obyron does it.
As for the kinda simplified mary sue ish description keep in mind that this character is barely a concept yet, he will get a proper backstory and personality after his combat abilities are done with a beta test.
I also promise that that story will not be a Wardian special snowflake who dosnt afraid of anything but I cant promise I will find the time to post that story here.

The Warboss has a 4 Initiative fyi, Grimmor has a +1 bonus thus the 5, and literally every power weapon works on the guy, and he cant ride in a vehicle, oh and he is subject to Instant Death whereas Gazzy isn't

I want to know how the sword increases his initiative, it doesn't make much sense as it also buffs his strength, whereas no other weapon in the game I know of provides both a buff to str and init, while AP2!! look at the current power weapon balance. Swords have no str bonus but cut through power armour, axes have a strength bonus but cut through any armour, but the increased power slows the wielder down, while mauls provide lots of additional str but bounce off of 3+ saves. And lances provide a str and ap bonus on the charge, but then start bouncing off power armour with the loss of momentum. The sword is really too powerful and is out of balance with the majority of power weapons. I know DE have ap2 at init but they are balanced by low toughness, and the inability to field a ton of bodies that footslog and survive

Simple, he's wielding a unique weapon, it may be a daemon sword or a gift from Gork or Mork, he doesnt know, he doesnt care. All he knows is its killy, and i love how no one has mentioned Ether blades, which are AP 2 and the Greater Ether blade gives +1 str and is only 20 points and are very spammable

Ok, I would relate the etherblade argument to be very similar to the DE. Daemons on average are lower toughness than orks, and have little shooting compared to orks, which excel in shot density so CC is a must for Daemons, while they lack the delivery systems orks get in trukks and wagons so getting into CC is tougher for the majority of units.

remember Grimmor can't get into a trukk, its part of the downside, and its actually a big deal as its gonna take at least 2 turns for him to get there, possibly more. On top of that, my opponent has more control over who grimmor crashes into than i do, because as already stated, he has to walk

Just not getting into transports is not enough of a downside, a green tide will get him across the board like it does with Ghazzy but unlike Ghazzy he will wreck most things BEFORE they hit him, while also making grots a hell of a lot better. For being a CC monster and a force multiplier he is undercosted to say the least,

i agree, more Weapon Skill, on another note, Grimmor can be annihilated by ordinance as he still suffers from instant death, which is a rather large pain, especially if there are vindicators around considering if he takes one wound he dies a horrid death

The thing is, everything in the Ork codex gets annihilated by Ordinance, but they don't get I6 AP3 and a bazillion other bonuses to make up for it.
OP, if you want your character to have AP3, give him him a burna. Problem solved.

We're talking about a custom built warboss here, he can have whatever he likes within reason.

He probably wouldnt get smashed terminators all the time, they cant ID him. But I think it will be difficult to get someone to accept the bonus to S, Init ap2 and attacks at normal initiative. Its just too out there. So why not mix it up a little, rather than a power weapon give him an old school khornate chain axe. Modifies any 3+ or 2+ saves to a 4+. Obviously its meaningless against lightly armoured dudes, but with the quantity of attacks they wouldn't be a problem. Then for units like terminators, it will still mince them. On average with 7 attacks that about 2 maybe 3 terminators down which is very solid for one guy's output, he shouldn't be taking 5 a turn IMO. Keep the initiative modifier, but put him base 4 so that it only works out at 5 overall.

That is kinda ridiculous. Just a fancy way of saying AP 2 lol. If all armor becomes 4+ or worse, and Grimmor is AP 4, then he ignores all armor lol.
