It's an over the top(?) homage to a genre of movies that isn't made any more.

He was part of the exploitation scene. If you want to see some funny "reviews" of this genre of movies (with the nudity censored of course) I highly recommend the Cinema Snob. This guy loves the genre to death and the character he portrays gives the movies the Ebert treatment by being snobbish about it and picking them apart like no tomorrow.

Joking aside, they may actually be about 80% done, overall, right now. Still a long wait ahead...

With the dearth of W40K gaming happening in my life, I've put my IG on the back burner. I haven't even touched my 75 brand new conscripts. So... 20 "stormtroopers"? Not super excited anymore. Having to buy a work of art of a rulebook that won't be out for a few years? Naw mates, count me out.

A little faith wont hurt.

“Games Workshop has had a really good year.
If your measure of 'good' is the current financial year's numbers, you may not agree. But if your measure is
the long-term survivability of a great cash generating business that still has a lot of potential growth, then you
will agree.”

On the bright side if this doesn't get done by Xmas mireille did make a very generous offer to top themselves.

This is from a kickstarter message earlier this year

"Hi again Michael,

i can tell from the tone of your message that you're quite disappointed with the lack of news on Nepharya. But like I said, your email has indeed made us reconsider whether she could be part of the First Wave. She was not included in the Update and listed as such because we have not yet re-opened her file since we last spoke, although I've made sure she's part of our next discussions.
You see, we have part of the team who says that she had problems and that they could be major to fix, and the other half who says that we've improved so much in everything over the past months that she could actually be easy to fix.

So, please try and bear with me for another couple of weeks, and do drop me a message around the 20th to see how things stand.

And please, forget about this "wait until Christmas" talk! I'd surely have to kill myself if this project was not done by Christmas!!!

Please stay in touch!
Cheers,
Mireille
Raging Heroes Team"

Anyway, I agree that one thing we're pretty safe on will be that the models will be very nice. When they arrive.

Eventually.

In 2015.

Can we have a countdown until Christmas?

edit.

Disregard that, as it would lead to tasteless posting and give them more ammo to use.

I'm pretty sure they do, as some remarks have received feedback in one form or the other.

And I almost hope they don't read this thread, because if they can maintain their hear-no-evil attitude through all this, they must be some kind of criticism-immune super-mutants.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

So, with the KS stuff taking forever and an ice age to get out, when will the company makes these models available through their webstore? I missed out on the KS, so I couldn't get any of these minis, but they look really interesting and I'd love to add a few to my collection.

Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)
