Thanks for the update. The armored scifi troopers look really nice and are a great addition to the not-stargate set of regular infantry. As for the ladies, I'm getting more of a Battlestar Galactica reboot Starbuck feel from the fig on the right, mainly due to the hair, dogtags, and the cigar.

Hasslefree has a new(ish) Facebook page just for posting Kev's WIPs on. Here's a few of the new minis shown on their main Facebook page too. Most of these are now available as resin masters on their site (resin masters being the more expensive, but higher quality versions of their minis which they have in limited quantities whenever a new model is released). Greens incoming (presumably, the ones for the last lot I posted here still aren't out IIRC).

Don't get me wrong. These WIPs are great. That last one would make a great chasseur for Infinity. But I really have to ask: when are those multipart power armor troopers coming?

This was turning out interesting ...until the chainsword turned up. Its now a bit too gothic for what I was planning to use her as when she was a bit plainer, but still, a nice model (I'm thinking an Ordo Heriticus Inquisitor for 40k easily).

Honestly there are so many fantastic models from hasslefree that I fear for my wallet when I visit the website. They also do the only Muay Thai model I have ever seen which I have to buy at some point.

I hope that new one is avalable with weapon swaps.

Kev said that he put the model together with intention of giving her different arm/weapon options. He's having second thoughts now, so we'll see where that goes. Its not like its a massive chore to swap a plasma pistol out for a revolver though or the chainsword for an empty hand (I have piles of Wargames Factory male and female models handy, so limbs aren't too difficult to nab a hold of here). It would be nice if there was a fantasy counterpart for this model however (with a hand crossbow and a regular sword or something) as it has the right style, just not the correct weapons, and well futuristic gothic minis are perhaps a bit niche outside of 40k.

A cross bow and a rapier would look great.

Do you have any idea if they ever plan to expand their martail artists range?

That's up to whether Kev wants to sculpt them. I'd ask that question on their Facebook page and see what they think. I haven't seen anything in the works at the moment which looks like it would fit in with that theme though. =/

IMO the general future gothic look (with variations) has been around SF since Mad Max 2 at least, and is one of the more widespread tropes in the genre.

Like you say the weapons would be easy to swap.

A reasonably good Green Stuffer could turn the coat skirts into a Victorian frilly confection. Swap weapons, add goggles and there you have a Steampunk adventuress.

Green Stuff the coat skirts into plate armour and you are getting close to the look of Saber out of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia.

Indeed! She has a very "vampire-hunter" style to me.

I was thinking she looks a lot like Sonnia from Malifaux, actually. Just needs a hand with a fireball or such (and a different sword).

Nurse Layla is a serving medical officer in the Galactic Navy, hailing from a colonised planet who's current fashions look a little like a retro-Terran style, with boots made of a substance similar to PVC and short mini dresses etc. Layla is childhood friends with Communications Officer Misha.
