Hi,

I'm looking for people to suggest 500 point ally detachments that plug nicely into other forces, these are without respect to the primary list.

Here's an Eldar one to get started

Farseer on bike 115

6 Windriders 122
2 Cannon

6 Windriders 122
2 Cannon

2 War walkers 140
2 Scatter Laser, 2 Star Cannon

Chalice-Wielding Sanguinary High Priest

Stevenage, UK

I've been looking at something similar, funnily enough...a Farseer with 10 Dire Avengers and double scatter laser war walkers for objective pushes. I'll be using it as allies until I have enough to run Eldar alone.

For Blood Angels it's a bit more, but 600 nets you 9 DC with 2 power fists and a Reclusiarch in a Land Raider...

For Crons:

Overlord, Warscythe, Mindshackle scarabs, Weave

505 points.

Or
Destroyer Lord (Weave, Mindshackle)
6 Wraiths (4 coils)
5 Tesla/Gauss immortals
(485 pts)

Vulkan Madness:

Vulkan

Sternguard Squad (x5 Combi-Meltas/Flamers, Drop Pod)

Scout Squad (Telion, Missile)

Vulkan either drops in with the Sternguard to flame away a unit or sits with the Scouts on an Aegis manning the gun (or Telion could do that. Whatever). The Sternguard are a point and click death button against any enemy unit, and with Vulkan, the combi-meltas/flamers are going to hurt. The Scouts are for lulz primarily, but stick Telion on an Icarus Lascannon and watch enemy characters evaporate.

Comes to around 510 points. I only wish Vulkan twin-linked your primary detachment.

Or replace Vulkan with a Librarian (Null Zone/Avenger) and a Speeder of your choice. Still clocks in around 500.

Somewhere in warp space

Nice stompy Grey Knights unit for getting close and killing stuff:

Ordo Malleus Inquisitor. Teminator Armour, Servo Skull: 68pts
10x Terminators, Psybolt Ammo, 2x Incinerator: 430pts

498 total

The unit can teleport in on the servo skull and then proceed to kill things, nice and simple really.

This is a great idea for a thread btw. Gets some good ideas about trying to expand your army.

For Tau 500pts

Fireblade - 60pts

Firewarriors x9- 81pts

Missileside x3 - 309pts
- EWO
- 9x Missile Drones
- Bonded

ADL - 50

Pretty good back field objective holder if your a fast moving assault army. Wrap the ADL around an objective and place all the Tau inside holding it.

Thats 12 S5 SMS shots, 24 S7 missiles 12 being TL at BS3 and 12 S7 at BS2 but can all be boosted by the Fireblade with his BS5 Splitfire markerlight. Plus some nice S5 shots from the Fire Warriors.

Had some pretty good success running the following:

IG:

Primaris Psyker

Harker Veteran Squad. (I run these with 3 Snipers and a Heavy Bolter w/ Camo Cloaks, but season to taste.)

2x Vendettas

It's an excellent air-superiority alignment paired with one hell of a tough-to-shift objective camper.

Throwing in some IA10 infiltrating marines!

Allies:
HQ: Ahazra Redth (IA10, chapter tactic infiltrate)
Elite (x10 sternguard, x2 Plasma cannons)-245pts
Troop: Scouts (snipers, heavy bolter, camo cloaks)
Total: 500pts

Deploy these squads on a side of the board to control an area and make it a pain to go there.

413th Lucius Exterminaton Legion- 4,000pts

Atalurnos Fleetbreaker's Akhelian Corps- 2500pts

2 Nurgle Oblits

Sorcerer goes with Oblits.

Nurgle Predator Driver with an Infestation

MI

Typhus
25 Zombies
Heldrake, Baleflamer
----------------------------
510pts.

A lot of armies don't have a cheap, expendable troop choice. Fearless and FNP, plus Typhus' natural resiliency make this unit extremely hard to shift from the middle of the board.

Typhus' psychic powers also combo well with any CC unit from your main detachment, while his s6 Force Axe Daemon Weapon will slay anything that wanders too close.

Heldrake.. Cause why not? Seriously, left untouched it will single handedly win you games vs. MEQ forces.

Also, I'll second this choice:

Overlord, Warscythe, Mindshackle scarabs, Weave
Royal Court : 2 x Stormteks
2 x 5 warriors in NightScythes (with stormteks)
505 points.

Resilient, mobile scoring with melta. Great anti-air. Backfield disruption/monster hunter. All for 500pts? Seriously?

Big Mek, KFF, Big Choppa, 'eavy armor, BP
11 Boyz, Nob, Trukk
12 Boyz, Nob, PK, BP, Trukk
12 Boyz, Nob, PK, BP, Trukk

500 Points.

This will get you a force to run forward and get in to CC to support a ranged team. This could be handy for Tau. KFF Mek might allow for the trukks to make it their, but if not, at least they are drawing fire.

This is actually a really bad idea for one reason... the Knights are all but wasted if you Deep Strike them. If you drop them close, they can get shot up by massed fire before they get a chance to do anything. If you drop them too far you can usually stay out of their way. They work much better in a Land Raider.
I suggest swapping for normal Deathwing with an assault cannon or a heavy flamer, to make the most of Vengeful Strike. They'll still have power fists for if they do get stuck into combat.

The Scouts, on the other hand, will work just as well as they ever have. You could do worse than to use the points saved on the Knights to give them all camo cloaks.
