Yeah, I'm used to working with milliput, but there are occasions where a bit more flexibility would be useful.

Keep it up.
Dr H - Thanks! - see below for the perils of thin GS straps...

Squigsquasher - Thanks!

So, this is what the belt looked like... For all of 5 minutes!
- When I went to glue it to the Gunslinger, it split into 3 bits - so I've re-done the strap with the holes as previously shown, and will glue it all together again tomorrow
- From now on I'm sculpting GS details directly on models!

On with the show:
- GS'd over the DE style armour - pic is making my sculpting look ordinary, but it's smooth, trust me!
(And if it isn't, there's always Mr.Sandpaper...)

- then I attacked the back of the corset to show some more skin... and carved the hollow where the spine muscles would be:

- then GS'd the spine muscles into place... (again, sculpting looks bad, but it's fine, fine I say...)

Tomorrow I'll get that damn belt in place, and then Mr Sandpaper and Miss Gunslinger are going to get intimate...

Thanks for looking!

Nice work lamby!

Sand it. Sand it real good!

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.

STC_LogisEngine - Thanks! (ooo, Mr Sandpaper, you naughty naughty boy...)

Anyway...
- Again the method I was using for the belt failed, so I did what I should have done in the first place - glued the brass buckle and the belt into place, sculpted wet GS over the front of belt bit to make the tongue end, smoothed it, poked some holes in it, but the pics are crap so I'll post them tomorrow.

Then I used up the rest of the GS to add some more flesh to the Boss Brute - note also the glued and GS'd bottom sections of the armour, yet to be sanded smooth...

Thanks for looking!

Where's the best place to get that guitar string stuff you use for cables- do modelling stores sell it or do you have to get it from a music store?

Squig - these are Dragon Forge pewter cables: http://www.dragonforge.com/Painting%20service/for%20sale/sculpting_supplies.htm
- I bought the sample set about a year ago, still using them as you can see
- Small problem with them is the thin ones don't like to be moved once they're in place - I have broken more than one trying to manipulate them
- Zinge Industries make these ones: http://zinge.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=102 though I have no experience with them

Cheers

Apart from some minor detailing, she's about ready for primer:

Anyone spot any major issues?

My only small concern is the armour leg strap I added - does it unbalance the figure too much?

Dr H, GiraffeX, LDD, Somedude - Thank you all!

So, here's the last detail I mentioned a few days ago:
Left hand lazloque:

Right hand lasloque (and note also the teeny-tiny sculpting I had to do to repair a knife slip on the wrist-armour!)

A final frontal pic:

And a final butt pic... I mean, rear pic:

From this angle I've noticed 2 minor details I'll fix before priming - the pouch needs a closure tab, and her sculpted hair addition is a little uneven.

And because so many people made comments, here's an early WIP of the next member of the Skeleton Crew:

LDD -Thanks!
- In regards to the ankles - No, I hadn't (considered smoothing out some sections) but DAMMIT I AM NOW... actually, I've been back and forth over those ankles since the start of this build...

Squig - Thanks! - the gears are from watch internals, just google 'steampunk jewelry bits' and you'll find them

Update on the Boss Brute - the Boss and I had an argument about his legs which basically ended when I cut them up one too many times trying to position them... currently awaiting a bitz delivery...

Sorry mate did not mean to cause you issues its just something I thought you would have considered yourself to be honest so did not mention it

It's only that this style of leg is so distinctive, I just thought maybe a little smoothing would deter from it being so obvious and help blend it with the model more.

LDD - No worries!
- I ended up shaving off the front spikes and it looks heaps better.
- Also added another tiny bit to each weapon:

LDD - She's part of my new Ordo Xenos Inquisitor's war band, probably so green clothing and metal armour

Tobber1202 wrote:Really nice stuff here! Consider me subbed
Tobber - Thanks!

From time to time over the last few weeks, Fury the Gunslinger has sat to one side and glared at me while I threw excess GS on a few other things, like the Boss Brute, a new Skeleton Crew heavy gunner, and my next Inquisitor, Kallatar of the Ordo Xenos:

Kallatar started out as an Empire Master Engineer, a rather short little man:

A few cuts here and there, the addition of a new set of armoured (and slightly longer) legs and half a Dark Eldar Wych torso, and he became a she:

Add some pins:

And then GS'd the toes of the boots:

And that's where she is at the moment.

Thanks for looking.

Damn good sculpting skills... im so jealous... BTW is that masking take going to stay there? The hard edges it makes on that pedastal could make a sweet crystal outcropping of somekind. Just a Thought.

Somedude - Thanks!
- Sculpting is something I used to do as a last resort... it's all about practice and patience - start with small stuff!
- Also, I highly recommend the Miniature Mentor sculpting vids with Aragorn Marks - even though he uses Fimo (not GS) I learned a lot watching his techniques

Dr H wrote:Nice. I like the use of the pin as the high heel.
Dr H - Thanks!
- Using the pin was my original intention, but now they appear too thin at the heel connection, so some GS will be needed - more micro-sculpting!!!

LDD - Thanks - those boots are so damn small, they look great with the (almost) naked eye, and then the HD pics come up...

More on Kallatar's boots:
- The heels turned out to be much harder to do than the toes, I'll have to file them down to size, so forgive the shoddy finish (and crappy pics):

- Also note I've slimmed her waist and abs down a bit after some comments elsewhere about her girth, and to provide a better 'canvas' to sculpt new armour and belts over.

And because there's always too much GS/milliput mixed, did some more on the Boss Brute (the brighter green areas are the newest):
- Musculature added to embed the gun, and repaired some accidental knife work on the CC hand:

- And added some bulk to the torso under the armour plates:

Thanks for looking!

Minor update: the fat heels looked so bad I cut them away, sanded the boots a little, and left the wire in place as a heel - moving on...

Just read through this thread, really awesome stuff. I adore the bounty hunter, and I'm really liking this new inquisitor so far as well. Awesome work, I might have to steal that idea some day.

I'm curious about something a while earlier, what's the Prosecutor's gun made out of? I'm working on some Ogryns from WHFB Ogres and something like that would be a killer weapon for one of them.

Keep up the good work!!

Id say she could use a CC blade of some kind (the gunslinger) but thats just my taste. (guns run out of ammo eventually unless they are a Mcguffin) everything else looks really good.
